Roxy was half shocked, half relieved as Novis spoke his mind. What exactly that meant in terms of their individual character, she wasn't sure. Nonetheless, his honesty seemed to clear the tension in the air, as Aiden tasted his own food and recoiled in disgust. Roxy giggled at the look on his face, feeling sympathetic toward his...culinary endeavor? One moment he was at their table, and the next he was scrawling something in a notebook and mumbling to himself. If she was being honest, it was...almost concerning. Maybe he just really liked cooking, and wanted to get it right? Aiden was apologizing for it, anyway. "Hey, it's alright! It's the thought that counts, you still went to the trouble of cooking for us." She was lying if she said she wasn't eager to see if he was right about the dessert, though. Roxy took a Pecha Berry strudel, hesitating for a moment before taking a bite. The instant she did so, her eyes widened; not out of repulsion, this time, but surprise. It was...really, really good. A grin quickly arose on her face as she spoke, "Wow, Aiden, no kidding! This stuff is really good!" She immediately took another bite, not even concerned about savoring the flavor.
As for Lucina and Aela, their situation was vastly different from that of their trainer. When their plates had been set in front of them, Lucina was a bit hesitant to try the food. After all, most of the time it was Roxy feeding her, not another trainer. Aela, on the other hand, immediately dug in, throwing any trace of caution to the wind. And she showed no sign of stopping, either; she was enjoying her food as though she'd been starving for weeks. Lucina anxiously looked between the Rockruff and Roxy, before taking a small bite of food. At once, her eyes widened, and she immediately took several more bites. Then, it seemed that she abandoned the grace she ordinarily had and began to chow down on the food Aiden had put before her. Both Pokemon were wolfing down food incredibly fast, especially when one considers their small sizes. As Roxy went for another strudel, she turned her attention to her Pokemon with an amused grin on her face. "Looks like these two are already fans of your food, Aiden," she teased as she pet Lucina's head. Aela pulled away, having finished her food first, a satisfied expression on her face as she let out a cheerful bark. Roxy hoped that meant she'd trusted their group a bit more, as she certainly wanted the Rockruff to be a trusted companion of hers.
Roxy's attention then shifted over to Zorex, who was somehow stuffing down food even faster than Aela and Lucina had been. It was adorable. "It's nothing I put in... it just... doesn't work sometimes. I'm stilling working on perfecting it for human consumption." She looked back at Novis, then at Aiden as she realized he was probably upset over the failure of his cooking. "I guess that's one thing to work toward, right? And besides, it seems like the Pokemon are totally in love with your cooking! So, it's not a total loss," Roxy speculated. "Plus, whatever you did with the desserts totally worked. I don't think I've ever had better pastries in my life," she added, going in for another strudel. How strange, though, that the main course was terrible yet everything else was perfect. It at least meant they wouldn't always have to stop and buy food all the time, which meant more money being saved. Roxy had a feeling they'd need it, seeing as they had a long trip ahead of them.
