The Fairy Wind successfully gave the party some distance, though it only did passing damage to the Ursaring as it was not intended to strike it, both the Elekid and Fletchling were able to get out of it's reach. Immediately followed was a Quick Attack from the Fletchling, striking the Ursaring quickly before flying out of reach once again, and the Elekid's Leer lowering it's guard.

The Ursaring sized up it's opponents, and charged, raising it's claw at Elekid. The attack was incredibly projected, however... As soon as it was in range, it did a crazy spin, swatting the Fletchling out of the air with a Feint Attack. It was now once again in range to use it's claws, but by this time the other Pokemon can act in response. As soon as it had executed that, it braced itself for Moonblast, taking the hit head on, but despite that, it did not budge from it's new position.

It was getting less and less direct and more and more tricky, as tricky as a big bear can get at least. It was beginning to exhaust it's options, being up against three opponents at once was a tough situation that it was beginning to recognize.

When they arrived to University it was a bit after lunch time, around them they could see students heading off for classes. The university campus was quite large, some call it "Academy City", but really it was just one big university campus surrounded by some houses and facilities, there was also a large station here that goes straight to and from Brittanium, but they were doing maintenance for now, emergency. Not sure what the reason was though. As they walked in, one of the professors recognized York.

"Oh, I recognize that mug anywhere, York is it?",

"Yep. You guys are doing fossil revival today in the main hall right?",

"Ah yes, we're still preparing it for now, so you'll need to wait a bit. You two feel free to look around until then... Just... Don't disrupt the classes okay?"

"Alrighty", and with that the professor was off to teach their class. York turned to Talonite,

"So this is the university, once in awhile mother takes me down too when she teaches guest classes. Unfortunately there's not much to do here, unless you really want to read. The library here is huuuuuge", he explained.

Returning Squirtle for a well-earned rest, Jack tossed another Pokeball at the defeated Cubone. After the ball shook in place for a short moment, the ball clicked and went silent. There was a long pause of silence that was held, until Jack finally smiled and said I did it... I've captured my second Pokemon". Walking over to pick it up, he thought of Leo and his Flabebe for a moment. "Leo gave his Pokemon a nickname, too. So I think I'm going to call you Bonesaw." he declared, happy with the new name he gave to his partner.

Registering Cubone into the Pokedex, Jack quickly began to wonder where he should go. There wasn't any sign towards the direction the road was going, and he knew Brittanium City was the opposite direction. Jack was then about to reach for his pocket, but instead he decided to keep following the footpath. His Pokemon were both tired and hurt and he figured out quickly that he should get to a Pokemon Center, and he had already walked so far up the path. If in dire need of healing, he could always use his potions. And so, he followed the route towards Amalgum University.

Aiden listened to Roxy's kind words, glancing over to not just see Zorex leaping around snagging as much food as he could grab but also everybody's Pokemon chow down with the same vigor and hunger. Neir was whining for more from Novis and Lucina and Aela were busy stuffing themselves fit to burst with his various dishes. Which of course made him feel a bit better. Seeing Pokemon enjoy one's cooking was always a good thing. Then when she spoke up about his desserts and snacks he was at least heartened by the fact that he had that recipe down. "Thanks Roxy. I'm glad you like them. Maybe one day I'll work out making them all better."

With that Aiden listened up to Novis' words, which were substantially more mean. "Hey man lighten up. At least I tried. And look at Neir, seems he's a bit more grateful." Aiden said a bit snappy in response. Regardless though at least he didn't complain more about his snacks. Though with his friends and their Pokemon quickly eating their fill Aiden started to collect the used dishes to wash at the rest area's spigot. Making sure to scrub them clean so that he could go back to tucking them away for later use.

At that point Zorex was finally seeming to slow down in his ravenous hunger, no longer leaping around wildly stuffing food in his large mouth. Yet still he continued to move around eating WAY move than his small frame should be able to even fit inside his entire body, much less his stomach. Regardless, after a few more minutes he was finally done and sat down satisfied, gently rolling around on his back and rubbing his full belly. Though after a few moments he saw Aiden busy working away and elected to help his best friend out, picking up a few plates and carrying them over to him. Only to set them down to waddle off to pick up more and bring them to the same place as the others.

"Thanks buddy." Aiden said to Zorex, patting his head on his second trip as he continued to diligently work away to get everything cleaned up. Before long Aiden had the dishes cleaned and made sure to box a few of the desserts for later. Then with everything ready to go Aiden spoke up one last time to say, "Ok I'm set to go. Novis is right too, we still have a few more hours left in the day so let's see about getting closer to those ruins."

Roxy smiled softly as Aiden seemed to feel a bit better after listening to her, which meant her mission was accomplished on that front. After all, the desserts were great, so it wasn't like the praise was undeserved. "I'm sure you will, Aiden," she replied before digging into another strudel. Roxy decided it would be her last one, seeing as strudels weren't the healthiest of foods. Lucina and Aela seemed to be about done with their food as well, which meant they could get going again. And boy, was she eager to keep going; the Zamak Ruins were an archaeological wonder comparable to the Alph Ruins in Johto. Roxy was desperate to get a good look at them, maybe write down what she found noteworthy? It wasn't every day that you get to see them, after all! With her last strudel done, Roxy reached into her bag and pulled out a brush, before looking at her Rockruff. "Hey, Aela, mind if I get some of that dirt out of your fur?" The Rockruff jumped into Roxy's lap, putting another smile on her face.

As Roxy began to gently brush the debris out of Aela's fur, Novis spoke up. His words were considerably more...harsh, than hers had been. She visibly winced, choosing to just focus on getting the dust out of Aela's tail. Lucina huffed a bit, admittedly jealous due to all the attention her new teammate was getting. "I'll get you too, Lucy, don't worry," Roxy murmured to the Riolu as she continued brushing her Rockruff. She glanced up at Aiden as he spoke, once again choosing not to speak, as the sharp tone he used probably meant he didn't want to press the subject further. To be fair, Novis wasn't exactly too kind with what he said. Roxy hadn't realized he could be so brutally honest...she supposed it was good to know, at least. At that point, Aela was clean, so she patted the Rockruff's head and gently moved her to the side so Lucina could get her share of maintenance. Lucina happily climbed into her trainer's lap, eager to get the debris out of her fur. There was much less in Lucina's, seeing as she was on the winning side. So, Roxy went to work, dutifully getting the bits of rock and dirt out of her partner's fur.

Aiden was somehow able to get everything cleaned up in record time, which made Roxy feel a bit bad for not helping him. She made a mental note to help him out the next time they sat down like this...after all, he'd made the meal for them. "Thanks, Aiden," she remarked before finishing with her impromptu grooming session of her Pokemon. She gave Lucina a pet on the head before putting the brush back in her bag and tossing it over her shoulder. Novis spoke up shortly after, mentioning that they should probably hit the road again. "I'm all set to go! You guys ready?" she looked around at her friends, then at her Pokemon before jumping out of her seat. Everyone seemed prepared to get going, with Aela and Lucina jumping off the bench and standing on either side of their trainer. Roxy decided to leave them out of their Pokeballs, since they seemed to want to stay with her for the time being. She waited for her friends to grab their things, rocking back and forth on her heels as she did so.

The Croagunk laughed as Leo faced off with it, then stopped laughing as Leo sent out the large Girafarig. Evidently he was going to take this seriously if he wanted to eat today.



"Gira, you did well out there, great work!" Leo pet the Girafarig's back affectionately, though it refused to look him in the eyes and did its best to pretend as if he hardly noticed Leo's actions. "Have a good rest, all right?" With a flash of red, Gira was returned to his ball.

"We've got a lot of new friends, huh, Nado?" The Gible stayed silent, frowning. "What's with the face? Oh, I see. You haven't been able to battle as much now that we've got more teammates, right? Tell you what, I promise you'll be the first one next time we fight a trainer. How's that sound?"

"Gible!" Leo grinned at Nado's change in attitude.

"It's a deal, then. Now c'mon, we might as well just head to Amalgam at this rate. Stay close!"

With that, the two made their way to the university.

"Just statin' the truth, dude." Nov raised his hands in defense as the others decided that it was best to let such a catastrophic failure down gently. "As Roxy said though, the pastries are the shi-- uhh, the bomb. Make some more later, will ya?"

Nov shifted his attention his Pokemon again at Aiden's mention of them, though. "It is kinda amazing how much they love this stuff, though. I wouldn't be surprised if you get a knock on your door from some food company later, since Nier can't get enough of it." At the mention of his name, the growlithe's tail started wagging again and he started looking around for food. With how much all the Pokemon ate, there was practically nothing left, so all Nier could do was stare longingly at the last few leftover pastries on the table with a whine.

Nov smiled as he gave the dog a scratch on the head, but once they all decided to start getting ready to head out-- Aiden dealing with all the dishes, and Roxy cleaning up her Pokemon-- he set the dog down on the ground. Nier went off to go bother Zorex (they seemed to be getting along pretty decently), and as everyone else was dealing with their own things, Nov went back over to where his Drilbur was hanging out, and all that was left was the empty plate. He picked it up and handed it to Zorex, and after walked over to look behind the rock outcropping. Nov couldn't help but smile when he saw the Drilbur passed out in the shade after its meal, but they needed to get going, so he dug its Pokeball out and returned it.

"Yup, all ready here." Novis said as he walked over to both of his partners, hoisting his backpack onto his shoulders. As the team moved out onto the second part of Route 13, Nov couldn't help but notice how much sandier it was starting to get. Before long, they would be in the odd arid hotspot of Chromis, where Ground-types reigned supreme in the sandstorms. But first... they had to get through the Ruins.

"All these herbs and grass/poison Pokemon books will be helpful resources to my studies!" With a satisfied expression upon her features, a familiar nurse emerged from the hallway leading to the university's library. A literal tower of books were stacked upon her skinny arms, an accident begging to happen. Claire, the lady, blindly directed herself towards the entrance of the university, hoping to scan through the literature in the nice, sunny weather.

Of course, things didn't end up that way. BUMP. THUMP. THUD. The tower of books came falling down like a chopped down tree and sprawled all over the ground. With a gasp, Claire turned to the blond boy with the blue jacket and frowned apologetically. "Oh! I-I'm truly sorry, I should've been more mindful of where I was going. Are you alright?"

Once she looked carefully, this boy's face was familiar and the other boy with him... It was one of the trainers who visited the healing station back then! "Weren't you two at the Beryllium City lab this morning? Correct me if I'm wrong, I easily forget things-- Oops, a moment if you will." For a brief moment, she forgot about the books all over the floor and now started to collect the ones near her.

"And this is the library, once when I was here there was a Pokemon battle and the librarian got reeaaally pissed", as Talonite was listening to his story, he had a feeling it was York who was instigating that battle, but before any response could be made, York who wasn't looking in front of him crashed into a moving pile of books, some of those books fell on Talonite due to the sheer amount of them, like an explosion of sorts. As York reoriented himself, the lady holding that pile of books, now strewn across the floor, spoke to them. She was right, they were at the lab, but he didn't actually remember her clearly. Perhaps it was someone at the healing station? Maybe it was someone who went up to his mother? Who knows, wasn't important now though.

"Ah that's okay, yeah I was at the lab. Are you also a new trainer? I'm York, and this here's Tal. It's actually Talonite but I can't be bothered saying all of it", he was strangely jovial, if he was more self aware about his manners he could almost hear his Froakie making a retort that he just bothered to say Talonite's full name. Said Froakie is currently in it's ball because it demanded to rest in it's "Chariot of Hell" to rejuvenate it's strength.

Regardless, now he was picking up books, there were certainly a lot of them, most were on herbs and medicines. So she was either a botanist or a doctor.

The Shadows.

Eyes, eyes... disappearing into the shrubs and trees that surrounded the route as the ruins got closer. They'd been watching the group, starring in the leafage. Plotting. Murmurs and quiet grunts could occasionally be heard as the group would continue, but as they got ever closer to the ruins, the noises only became louder. The tourists ahead paid no attention to it, distracted by whatever tourists do. Taking pictures, talking too loudly. It made whatever was in the shrubs, following the group angry. Loud noise... It made them mad. Occasionally brown, curved tails could be seen, glimpses of brown and white fur, but no definitive answer as to what it was. A pokedex wouldn't help, they were too fast for it to scan. What was following them, and why?

In the distance, the ruins could now be seen for our adventurers. The rabble of pillars and stone bricks cut by ancient hands could easily be discerned from the hazy sea of sands around it, having formed due to the erosion of rocks that once held civilization. Only when they would draw close would they see scientists and tourists, swarming the place like flies to a light. The shattered remains of the past were delicate, yet majestic, that is often the description given to them by the tourists. Even though bits and pieces of structures were missing, those that remained were awe inspiring. Of course, that didn't stop several tourists to crowd around the outside, taking up space and making sure every inch was photographed in a selfie. Not to mention, slightly outside the ruins, scientists had established a base camp. They'd already done extensive research on the place, but there were always mysteries that needed to be discovered. Though it wasn't to be heard in more than a scant few whispers, everyone present knew that there was a link between the Zamak Ruins and the infamous Unown in the Ruins of Alph in Johto - the real question; and the real source of energy for these skittering scientists being, just how deep this connection could be proven to run.

Regardless, it was surprising to say that no one saw the floating mask above them, watching and waiting. It liked to spy on the people below, but what it saw from above made it curious. Not only was there a group of pokemon outside the area where the dirt would become some sort of hard sand, doing their best to hide in the decreased shrubbery, it noticed how they were all staring at 3 trainers.

It was then that it happened.

An intrusive screech came from all around, caused by a multitude of Mankeys jumping onto the scene and charging the unsuspecting trainers. While they didn't do any real damage, they were angry. Angry that the one who had cooked had left nothing for them, like so many other trainers had. And what was left, wasn't enough. They wanted more. Needed more. A drive of hunger and their quick to anger nature made them plot, something relatively unheard of. They waited to unleash their anger, but now, it was getting the better of them. They pounced, they screeched, just out of sight and hearing from the tourists and scientists who may have helped the travelers. No real damage was caused, but in the fray they scoured the bags and pockets of the trainers, searching for food to take.

And while some of the contents fell to the floor, a specific stone fell from Novis' grasp. His fire stone... And not only his, but the other's as well! The Mankey's inspected them before throwing the newly acquired stones to the side, and when they didn't find what they wanted, they turned on each other. In the fray, the pokemon with the mask watching from above stared at the stones... Wondering what they were. Maybe it would get the attention of the pokemon that spun like a top on occasion... Happily, it flew down, revealing that it was a yamask as it made itself visible. Happily taking the fire stones, it made a B-line for the entrance to the ruins in the distance, catching the eye of several scientists and tourists. The tourists took a picture, saving it for later, while a particular scientist made note of it. She had kept several notes on the Yamask, and perhaps speaking to her would be ideal...

As for the Mankeys, they eventually ran away, still fighting. Have Fun.

As they made their way through the University Talonite half-heartedly nodded as York told his various stories about the place. Professors passing by greeted York yet also gave him consistent warnings about not getting into trouble. As York began getting into more stories about librarians and Pokemon battles Talonite smirked as he put the puzzle pieces together. York was certainly no thug, but he was a bit of a troublemaker for sure. Definitely chose a good traveling buddy.

Suddenly a door opened in front of them and a literal tower of books collapsed upon him and Talonite went sprawling onto the floor. 'Is this what Chromis holds for me? I didn't get this injured when I worked for Team Skull!' He thought to himself as pushed the books off himself and got up. He got prepared to scold the person who did this when he noticed who it was. "Hey wait you're the nurse from the lab. How did you get here before us? We left before you." York introduced Talonite and himself, with a quick grunt of "Don't call me Tal.", Talonite begrudgingly set to picking up books as well.

Francis was quite proud of himself after the quick attack. He was able to keep up with this fight, but what followed came too fast, the claws swatted him and he was shot off into the ground, rolling from the movement. That hurt a lot and he wasnt at the moment sure where up or down was.

Danilo was surprised by the feint attack, and didnt have the time to warn Francis to get away. Seeing him get hit and all but shot into the ground. Without a word Danilo moved as fast as he dared along the edge of the clearing until he got by his pokemon hoping the other two will keep the ursaring attention while he healed his little friend. Dan pulled a potion out and sprayed on Francis, seeing how it did wonders. Francis raised his head and chipped as his health was restored.

"I little hiccup in our performace, want to keep on?" Danilo whispered as the little fletching jumped on his legs and nodded, turning towards the ursaring seeing Zap and more importantly Berry keep on fighting. "Good..." Danilo noticed then that he was close to the eevees and while he was already decided to take another potion out. In his bag now was left 3 potion, four pokeballs and one revive. He sprinted up to the eevees. "If you allow ladies." He spoke to the two young eevees before he sprayed the old leader eevee with a potion. Danilo hoped that even if it wasnt enough to get the old soul back to full strength it should at least help with his more serious wounds.

One rest and several hours later...

After sleeping on the way from route 9, the morning was met with Jack's perseverance to continue. Now that Bonesaw had joined his team, he felt a strong desire to train his Pokemon. He was disappointed to find that he would not be met with a challenge on his brisk walk through the cold morning light, but on the way he found a large sign displaying the destination up ahead:



Jack stared at the sign for a moment blankly, his smile not quite visible beneath an expression of thought. From the passing mention of this place, all Jack Schreiber really understood is that this place was dedicated to the education of Pokemon. He didn't quite know what specifically the university studied, but he became more and more curious to know. Was it similar to the Professor's research? Jack suddenly forgot about his urge to train before those thoughts finally returned to him. He thought carefully for a moment, before being struck with inspiration. With haste, he searched for a clearing at the edge of the route and then decided to pull out two pokeballs.

"Come out, Bonesaw! Squirtle!" Jack called, summoning his Pokemon. As they were unleashed from their respective balls, the two gave Jack a waiting look as he, in return, examined his pokemon. Though they seemed to have retained some of their damage from battle, they had both recovered their stamina. Jack's smile returned, as he crouched down on one knee and pulled two potions from his pocket, spraying the two Pokemon down. Happy to have recovered their wounds, they looked at each other and then back at Jack with excitement. "Alright, you two, before we reach Amalgam University, I came up with a training regiment that we'll be using over the next few days. Squirtle, I'm going to have you fully Withdraw yourself, while in turn Bonesaw is going to beat against your shell, for as long as you are able to before you need to tap out. When you do, Bonesaw, you will hold your breath while Squirtle fires his water gun at your skull in short bursts, until you need to tap out. Since this is the first time we put this training into effect, we will go seven rounds of this before we call a break."

The two looked at each other, with feelings a blend of nervousness and determination. As they began the first round, both Pokemon tapped out rather quickly, with Bonesaw lasting only noticeably longer. Following that round, the two Pokemon seemed to go on over a minute and a half each, lengthening their time as though they were trying to see who could endure this training longer than the other. The next round went for two minutes, then two and a half... When the last round came, both were able to make it through at about an equal length of two minutes and forty seconds. This stunned Jack, the two Pokemon had spent a full half-hour through this training, and it had only been their first attempt at it. Praising both Pokemon for their efforts, Jack pulled out another pair of potions to replenish their health, and returned them to give them a well earned rest. Should he be put in a position to battle, Jack thought to himself, this training should improve their efforts to become stronger. Satisfied with the time he had spent coaching his Pokemon, Jack smiled as he made his way to the entrance of Amalgam University.

"We made it." Leo looked around the university with an alien sort of feeling looming over him. There weren't exactly too many universities back in Sinnoh--not that he knew of, anyway. At most, he had seen schools for young, trainers to be, but never once saw a full blown university in the flesh. Or...would in the bricks be the right term? Okay, in the (insert substance here) didn't exactly have the same ring to it, but it'd do, he guessed. He looked down at Nado, who was following right behind him as per usual. "Don't make a scene around here, understood? Or else there'll be zero poffins for a week!"

Words could not express the fear that flared in the Gible's eyes. He quickly stood on his toes and closed his eyes to give himself a calm, sophisticated kind of look...which failed when his toes tipped a bit too much and ended up with him face down on the floor.

Leo rolled his eyes. He picked up the Gible by its tiny arms and then continued his way to the university itself. When he arrived, the main halls were somewhat populated by numerous students and a small handful of professors scurrying from place to place. One had even struck up a conversation with he had noticed how young Leo was. While the conversation was mainly him telling him about the glorious open doors that a formal education could provide (barf), he had dropped mention of some sort of fossil resurrection that was going on soon, which really piqued his interest.

He politely said goodbye and made his way to the lab. On his way there, he saw three people. One of them stood around as the other two picked up books scattered around the floor.

"Need a hand?" Leo knelt down on the floor to pick up the books along with them, although most of them were already accounted for by that point. The young trainer paused for a moment as he looked from York to Talonite. "Oh, it's...you two." While he didn't mean to sound unenthusiastic about the idea, one could be forgiven if they mistaken believed it to be the case. He was more taken aback by seeing them again so soon.

In a corner of the Library, away from prying eyes, were two figures in lab coats, one with long blonde hair and another with shoulder length red, indicating that they probably worked at the labs at the University. "Umm.....Ruari?" the blonde asked to the other in a quiet awkward voice. Looking up, the redhead stopped fiddling with the girls skirt with a grin that caused the other to twitch. "Yes?" Before continuing what she was doing.

After a slight pause, the blonde resumed. "May I ask why exactly am I wearing girls clothes again?" Apparently done with what she was done, Ruari stood up and put her hands on her hips. "And as I told you, it's a disguise! Got to change it up every now and then you know." In truth, she was bored and wanted some entertainment and as her guinea pig, he had no say in the matter. It was nothing new, she did this all the time to him, making him wear and do all sorts of strange things by making up all sort of reasons or excuses and he'd always fall for it and go along with it.

While the way she said it was dubious, he, like always, believed and went along with it. "Besides, you make for one convincing girl. Did you see all those guys that had their eyes stuck on you, blushing like that? They surely didn't doubt that you were just another cute girl. If possible, they'd probably jump and have their way with you right then and there if this wasn't a public place!" She was clearly having fun with this topic.

"I don't think it's something I should be happy about..." Not that anyone should but given prior experience, he remained calm. Laughing, Ruari looked at her watch. "Come on Fionn, it's almost time. Don't want the 'professor' getting mad at us again, now do you?" she laughed again as she and Fionn moved away from the corner and towards the traffic on their way towards the lab.

As they were passing through, they saw a few people on the ground picking up books. Noticing that Fionn wasn't paying any attention, she grinned. Taking advantage of his obliviousness, Ruari tripped him and sent him crashing into the blonde picking up books and in turn causing her to accidentally headbutt the blonde haired boy helping her and sending the books that she had re-collected flying at the others.

Trying her best to hold back her laughter, she pulled Fionn off the ground and turned towards the trainers. "I do apologize for my colleague here, she's quite clumsy and trips often. I hope you can forgive her." she smiled. "If anyone here came for the Fossil Revival, it should be starting pretty soon." With a wave of her hand, Fionn and Ruari walked off. Heading towards the lab, Ruari, unable to hold back any longer, immediately started laughing as Fionn simply glared at her and trudged on silently.

The two boys turned to each other when their opponents agreed to the battle. They quickly high fived and each produced a Pokeball. the one on the left said, "Oh yeah, this is gonna be epic!" Both threw their poke balls and out came two Oricorios. One of Baile Style and the other of Sensu Style. The other boy then said, "Bring it losers!"

Note*- We chose to skip this battle due to Brose's disappearance.

After the battle the two brats started complaining. One said, "You two had an unfair advantage." The other one then added, "You'll see us again." They then ran off back towards the city. Morgana turned to Sage nodding her head. Reynardine had been the only one to not feint in that battle and it was due to Sage.

The two began walking in the direction they had been going as if that interruption hadn't happened. They rested that night not to far away from Amalgam University. The moment they woke up though they could hear a noise coming from the area they had stored their food. The two travelers soon realized the noise was a result of a few Pokemon. Among that small group was a blue tinted Ralts. A soon as the Pokemon saw the trainers looking at them they bolted in the direction of the University.

Aiden had this strange sense of unease as he continued on with his friends, like something was stalking them and it just wouldn't go away. Even as their environment started to change around them that same feeling stayed true. Even Zorex was feeling it and as a result he was on edge too looking around and growling at shadows. He was ready for a fight however when it finally came...

Aiden turned to the sound of aggressive rustling to only have enough time for a rather irate Mankey to attack his face, grabbing onto his shirt and hair with it's paws as he started to tussle with Aiden who almost immediately began yelling to, "Get it off! AAHH! Get it off me!" All while runnign around trying to pry the obnoxious and very irate Mankey away.

Zorex was running after Aiden trying to get at the Mankey and often taking several snaps to try and bite him away, but mostly to no avail as Aiden wasn't standing still long enough to let Zorex get a good shot at the little monster. It was in that moment that another Mankey leaped out of seemingly nowhere to start raiding Aiden's bag which had fallen from around his shoulder int eh second attack letting the other little monster rifle through it till he tossed the Fire Stone out and away. This of course was all missed by Aiden who was still being face-attacked by an irate furball...

It was a bit longer of that before Aiden was finally able to stand still long enough for Zorex to leap up and chomp down hard on the Mankey's tail. In that same moment it stopped assaulting Aiden to let out a shrill cry before leaping away to get away from the little ball of teeth that held on fiercely being dragged along as the tables were turned on it. Though after a few seconds Zorex let go and gave a triumphant cry to send the coward away with a bite mark on it's tail.

Once Aiden was free from an angry lint ball he took a few breaths to catch his breath before looking around to see his bag well rifled through, but before he could do anything of that sort he saw a glint that he recognized. It was his Fire Stone... and other Fire Stones by the looks of it. Yet that part didn't particularly bother him as the Mankey swarm was still about, so to respond in kind he yelled out, "Zorex use Dragon Rage!" to which Zorex who now finally had a command took in a deep breath before firing off a ball of blue flame at one of the Mankey's looking to either start a proper fight or quickly put an end to this little ambush.

RYZIN

Ryzin and Totodile began their long journey, eventually getting on a train that will take them to Chromis, seeing many many things along the way that astounded them both, the biggest thing was coming into Chromis. Immediately they noticed the massive differences in pokemon species, terrain, and technology which they both had never seen. Amazed and a little frightened at the prospect of the unknown they reach their destination.

Upon exiting the train Ryzin crouched down to Totodile and said, "Look buddy I know you love to battle and defend me but I get the feeling like for now we should keep a low profile, I don't think attacking everyone will do us much good ok, so let's just chill out and learn what we can about our new surroundings before we get rowdy." Totodile looks at him changing her expression to a yeah fine I guess so and extends a fist, with a fist bump they both agree and carry on walking through this massive city taking in all the new things they've never seen before.

"So many people in one place is a bit overwhelming aye Totodile", Totodile looking up at him with a look of slight fear at the crowds and nods, "Don't worry buddy as long as we can figure out what to do from here, we will be ok."Then suddenly .... BAM!!!, Ryzin walked straight into a pole, Totodile immediately started to crack up laughing at him rolling on the floor and pointing, "OOOWWWWWWWWW!, holy crap that hurt, Totodile you could have warned me", Totodile looks up at him and just points at the pole, "Wow just wow, yes it's a bit late but there's a pole there, thank you Totodile, oh wait look it says Amalgam University we should go have a look inside, come on lets go".

Then in they went, upon entering they just stared around at the building which they have not seen the likes of before, a good five minutes of looking around before someone approached them."You are definitely new here aren't you I can tell, let me guess, never even been to chromis before right?, well hi i'm Hermad, i'm one of the locals around here, I just try to help out young trainers like yourself feel welcome here". Totodile looks at him not seeing an old man before, she walks around him taking a good look and giggles, "Totodile don't be rude, hello i'm Ryzin and I come from johto, i'm new to the whole pokemon trainer thing there's so much new technology and stuff here, I don't really know much of anything", "Well then Ryzin have a seat I will run you through a few things".

While the Ursaring taking a moon blast head-on without budging might unnerve someone, it's clear it couldn't keep this up. After all, it's up against 3 pokemon, especially since one of them wields a fighting technique. Still, Francis got hit pretty hard. Luckily he wasn't knocked out... With Dan healing up Francis and the Eevee leader, it was up to her and Ruby to cover him and continue on the attack.

Not letting the Ursaring take it easy, they decided to keep pressing it. "Zap, once more, Hammer Arm!"

Another direct hit! This might be their first encounter of a real battle but Ruby was confident that they weren't doing too bad. ....Or so she thought until the aggressive Pokemon made a tricky move and swatted the poor Fletching away. With a quick turn of her head, Ruby looked over to where Francis had landed and saw that Danilo was tending to his partner.

Nodding to herself that it was up to Berry and Zap to continue the fight, the little girl decided that if the bear Pokemon wanted to play tricky, they had to up their own game. "Berry, it's time to dazzle the stage~!" The Sylveon understood what the command had meant, barking back in response happily. Berry concentrated on its energy as the surroundings were suddenly wrapped in a thick mist, a Misty Terrain, making the Ursaring unable to see. It may not know where its opponents were going to attack it from, but Zap and Berry can see the big figure of the Ursaring.

"We might not see it from afar but try to dodge this~! Disarming Voice!" Letting out a charming voice, a ray of pink hearts emanated from the Sylveon's mouth and towards the opponent.

Attack after attack repelled the Ursaring, realizing it was outmatched it started backing away slowly, but the moment it was hit with Hammer Arm it was convinced staying for one source of food was not worth the effort right now. After the Disarming Voice he backed away and gave an indignant growl and dirty look before retreating, keeping it's eyes on the group before turning around and disappearing into the woods. The Ursaring didn't seem very happy with the result, but that aside, they were now free to assess the situation.

The two Eevees seemed rather sorry for the older Eevee's selflessness by tanking the hit for them, but now that it was healed up enough to get up, it looked at the two younger Eevees and the party proceeded to watch as they got scolded.

The two Eevees though didn't only feel bad that what they had done had almost gotten them mortally wounded by the Ursaring, but they were thankful to the trainers that helped them. Even so, they weren't the best at showing that sincerely, it seems they wanted to repay them and join them. They seemed a bit keen at the idea, as it would be more interesting than staying in this forest for their whole lives.
