The Blade Emperor Era
- 1014BE - The end of the Shijo period and beginning of the First Blade Emperor’s reign.
- 1015BE - The Blade Emperor’s Royal Court is established. Daimyo and land stewards are assigned rulership over mapped out territories.
- 1017BE - Magic Artificers are publicly recognized as equal citizens in Kujin society.
- 1019BE - The Blade Emperor announces the construction of a naval defense force, urging the people of Kujin to help fight against foreign invaders. There is minimal documentation on any sort of foreign invasion, let alone contact by any means from outside travelers, explorers, or traders.
The Blade Emperor Era - Burning Kettle Period
- 1020BEBK - Known as the beginning of the “Burning Kettle” period. Provincial leaders and their local economic commissioners argue with the Royal Court over increased taxes and strict trade regulations.
- 1023BEBK - The Blade Emperor disembarks with the fabled “Thousand Ships”. The approximate number of ships constructed is unknown, but a massive amount of resources are inventoried throughout Kujin’s provinces that were dedicated to this project.
- 1024BEBK - The absence of The Blade Emperor forces the Royal Court to act in his stead, but many members were cited for embezzlement of funds. Riots begin to spread across Kujin.
-The Hyakusho March occurred in the summer of 1024BEBK. Over 100,000 farmers, villagers, and peasants rallied north toward the Royal Castle. While casualties were reported, hostile conflict was kept to a minimum. - 1025BEBK - The Hyakusho March was deemed a success. The Royal Court proceeded to wipe the slate clean in an ongoing campaign to right wrongs.
-Corrupt members were either jailed or committed harakiri to maintain their family's honor. Daimyo and smaller land stewards of Kujin were appointed in their stead. - 1027BEBK - Tension brews in the Royal Court as individual, provincial demands outweigh the nation as a whole. Structure and order quickly spiral out of control.
- 1029BEBK - The Blade Emperor returns from his campaign at sea. Again, little documentation is present to account for his 5 year absence. All naval officers have made a vow of silence.
Sensou Period
- 1031 - 1134 - Due to the unpopular opinion of his obsession with foreign affairs, and overall inability to lead, The Blade Emperor and the Royal Court are reduced to figured heads with limited governing power. What follows is the warring conflict between Great and Minor clans.
- 1032 - The Siege of Shigenoi is the first major conflict between Asagao and Tsubaki.
-Shigenoi Castle is a fortress along the western coastline of Asagao's borders. Tsubaki General Yamada Shomei laid seige with four hundred soldiers in a 7 day campaign. The fortress was eventually captured. It is still recognized as Tsubaki territory to this day. - Autumn of 1075: Uesugi Mitsuhide of the Lotus clan is born.
- 1110 - Battle of Masachika. At this point, all three Great clans have engaged in countless wars.
-Masachika offered a strategic advantage over Lotus' major supply routes. Tsubaki and Lotus armies clashed, but the Asagao took the field by surprise and won the campaign. This battle is best known as The Asagao Rainstorm, because of the relentless barrage of enchanted arrows that decimated Tsubaki and Lotus numbers. Daimyo Kajuji Mitsuhide of the Lotus clan is slain in battle. Useugi Mitsuhide takes over as Lotus clan leader. - Winter of 1127: The First Blade Emperor passes away.
- Spring of 1128: The Second Blade Emperor is established. The Lotus gains support from the new Blade Emperor, rallying minor clans to their cause.
- 1129: Asagao and Tsubaki unofficially make an alliance against the Lotus clan.
- 1133: After the Battle at Kanaki, the Asagao clan officially surrenders.
-The Battle at Kanaki is the last major battle between Great and Minor clans alike. Daimyo Hantei of Asagao and Daimyo Echigoya of Tsubaki amassed a giant force against the Lotus and their Minor clans. Kanaki is the central border land between Lotus and Asagao territories. The swamp lands and stormy forecast were major factors against Hantei and Echigoya's disorganized armies. Uesugi Mitsuhide lead his clan to victory. Echigoya was slain in battle.
The Mitsuhide Period
- 1136UM: The Sensou period officially ends. Uesugi Mitsuhide becomes the first Shogun to rule Kujin.
- 1141UM: The Blades of the Shogun unsheath…
