Time seemingly flew by as she was just putting on the finishing touches of her outfit, which really did not matter since she had to change anyway. She had managed to tie her hair up into a ponytail then diverted her gaze towards the door as Paulie walked inside.
"Don't try to fix yourself because it's going to change." Paulie mentioned as Marsha groaned in response and rolled her eyes then eyed him with a raised brow.
"I know but I still want to stand out." Marsha muttered her response with the shrug of her shoulders as sniffed the air.
"Dinner smells good. I think I'll go and get me some." She said while she walked passed Paulie, who stood there nearly speechless. Marsha walked towards the dining area with a smirk then turned the corner and seen Ian sitting there, stuffing his face.
"Hey, Marsha." Ian said as Marsha looked at him with disgust as she sat down beside him.
"And they say it's not very ladylike to talk with your mouth full." Marsha jabbed towards Ian, who swallowed his food and took a sip of his juice now.
"Oh, whatever. Who put you in a mood already?" Ian asked her just as Paulie came back into the dining area.
Marsha eyed him momentarily then rolled her eyes again. She was really looking forward to dinner but Paulie had other plans for them both as he motioned for both of them to stand up and follow him. Herself and Ian did exactly as they were told and even followed Paulie outside as they all walked over towards the building where the opening ceremony was to be held along with the parade of tributes, well victors, in their case.
Once they entered the building, Marsha and Ian were instantly grabbed by the designers and sat down in a chair, where makeup artists and hair dressers went right on ahead and worked their magic. The designers were too busy getting ready and gathering their outfits for the parade.
'This again.' Marsha thought as her eyes went over towards Ian, who was getting a scissor trim of his hair. She then looked back into the mirror as they were just putting the finishing touches in certain areas upon her face and hair.
She exhaled a sigh as the designers then waved for her to come over. Ian went into another room and Marsha went into the opposite room so that the designers can change and dress them. Whenever that was finished, herself and Ian stepped out at the same exact time and eyed each other's
outfits with a smile.
"Wow. You look amazing." Ian complimented towards Marsha, who smiled and even blushed slightly.
"Thanks. So do you." Marsha returned the compliment as they were now rushed to where the other tributes were by Paulie.
Marsha and Ian stood beside their chariot as Paulie gave them directions on how to act out there. Her eyes went away from Paulie for a moment and her friends, Luke and Charlotte, from earlier came into view. Without hesitation, she walked over there as Paulie called her name out but Ian ran after her. She stood before them with a smile and arms folded as she eyed their outfits then looked back at them with that same smile from earlier.
"Good luck out there, you two." She genuinely said.
"Hope your chariot breaks down." There it was. It wouldn't be Marsha if she didn't exactly give a jab or two.
"Marsha!" Ian called her as he then grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away from them and off to the side.
"Save it for the training arena, yeah?" Ian said as Marsha nodded her head and they went back to their chariot and stood beside Paulie as they waited to take their place and for the parade of victors to commence.
