In sad realization that the Persona RP I joined hasn't started and might die before it's first breath soooo for the sake of a really great experience I've decided to make my third rp already. Since one is pretty much 1x1 now and the other is a casual, I'm going to take on an advance rp of Persona.
So now that I've explained myself I need to give you an important warning. This Rp is advanced therefore requires a high concentration of role playing virtues.
The first is legibility and fluidity of language. What I mean is that communication is important for our rp, lets really read between the lines of a person's post and try to understand more than action. Simultaneously we must give each other powerful words that mean more than action, its the essense of our characters that we are sharing. These are their weaknesses, strengths, hopes, and most importantly perspective. To do that we need to make sure our posts are well written and drafted. Posts are "due" each week with only 1 post per weak accepted. That means you'll only get to post once per week unless I state otherwise. This will give us the time we need to get something properly written up for others to read and respond.
The second is patience. With one post a week the rp will move slowly. I will speed up the introductions and beginning chapter of the rp for the sake of solidifying our rp group. However, after the point of no return there's no speeding up or slowing down from the 1 post each week rule. Emergencies call for rule changes such as IRL problems. Anxiety, Depression, and laziness will be accepted as reasons not to post. There's no consequence for skipping a post other than loosing out on the interaction with the other players. So please be patient with everyone. This isn't a paying job so it can wait for its members to push it forward.
Last of all is curiosity. This is after all other things a mystery which requires solving. Many of you who may be interested already know the plot of Persona. People die. It is as simple as that, with only a murder taking a different form. But that won't be the same in this rp. I'm going to to do better than repeat a plot and that takes a lot of planning and a lot of research into various subjects. So the hint you are getting is that this is a mystery to be solved. With that mindset you should be prepared to recover as much information as possible from what I will write, search for clues as you would research a topic for a school paper.
So to get you hooked I'll give you the setting of the story.
This is the year 2021. Summer in the town of Kurimori Japan means students of Kurimori Highschool are more worried about college entrance exams than anything else. Yet many are caught up in the swell of a social life, special someone, and getting by in an increasingly busy world.
Kurimori was once a small town but in the year 2015 they opened up an arcade featuring the years latest games. A large following made the arcade popular with the students and because of that it business has been stable for six years. However, in the middle of a January a young child found the body of the owner chopped up and stuffed into a new arcade game. His identity was confirmed by locals. The game was confiscated by police but when all the evidence mysteriously disappeared and the owner walked into the station unharmed to retrieve the game. The arcade's business has suffered since the incident but those loyal to the arcade stay away from it.
They call it the Devil's Box because people often see the body parts of those long dead behind the screen. Its official title is DEV ISLE R.R.R. an indie game donated by an anonymous developer.
If you are interested in joining this rp post here and give me an idea of your character. It'll have to be a high school character around the age of 17 and 18 who is from the imaginary town of Kurimori. It's nearby Tokiyo but closer to the coast if you need some more understanding of the setting. The year, being 6 years in our future means technology is a little better than before, we've got better devices like phones, laptops, game consoles, you name it it's better. BUT with a lot of old technology gone it's easy to say that all the latest devises of 2021 are pretty expensive. Its not crazy to have something we'd consider new since it's much cheaper and somewhat reliable still. As highschool students many of you should have a wireless device like a phone or tablet possessing 100 Terrabytes of storage which have been useful for doing homework and taking care of daily life. One of the most useful apps is TeachMe 3.0 that's been doing most your teachers jobs like correcting the errors in your essays, using an AI for lessons, and keeping up with the massive size of the internet.
SOOOOOOO anyone willing to hop on the Persona Boat?
