AppearanceCarys is a fairly short girl standing a little under the average height of most humans. She has fair skin and a faint scattering of freckles across her face. Her normally fairly messy auburn hair would hang just below her shoulders though she generally prefers to bunch it up away from her face when working.
Having a fairly active lifestyle and a career that keeps her busy, Carys is rather slim almost unhealthily so. She has little in the way of muscle, tone or curves, instead seeming rather slender and stick like.
While not working Carys prefers clothing designed more for comfort than looks. Generally wearing things that are a few sizes too big for her, rather long and flowing. Not looking to stand out from the crowd, she rarely wears brighter colours, preferring instead to stick to blacks and greys.
Her work clothing holds a very similar style to her off work clothing though often somewhat more practical in appearance. She prefers to avoid uniform where possible and when not possible does her best to stretch the limits of what is acceptable in that regard.
She often opts for lighter armour and padding when working out in the field, putting a greater value on mobility than solid protection.
Height5’2”
PersonalityEnergetic and rather talkative. Carys comes across as quite open and friendly. She would prefer to have some kind of conversation going than to work in absolute silence. Even if the conversation is mostly one sided. To those of a more quiet nature, Carys may seem annoying or overbearing at times though she can usually pick up on this reasonably quickly and tone it down.
Her work place is often in a state of organised chaos. While it may seem messy and illogical, she is the kind of person to have things exactly as she wants them.
Having been raised on a fairly isolated space station for much of her early life, Carys sometimes still finds crowds to be fairly nerve inducing and unsettling. It is in times like these where her more quiet and shy side comes out.
In her personal time, Carys prefers to binge on her extensive collection of vintage media and often seeks to expand this collection whenever possible. Those who have yet to watch her favourite films and shows will at some point be subjected to a barrage of recommendations.

Secateurs - For cuttings.
Sidearm - Carys knows very little about guns, only what she was taught in her very basic training before the mission. She can aim and shoot to a fair standard but isn’t a soldier and it shows.

BiographySome people spend their entire lives in space, rarely, if ever, stepping off their manufactured homes onto natural ground. Carys felt sorry for these people. Having been born and raised on Freeport 15, a nowhere space station located in the back of beyond, she wanted nothing more than to see the surface of a planet with her own eyes.
Freeport 15 was fairly unimpressive as far as space stations went and served mostly as a stop over for long distance freight ships. It held its fair share of amenities to keep its population happy, though to an outsider these all likely seemed very dated.
She was raised by both parents, her mother, a school teacher and father a dock worker. They lived reasonably comfy lives, nothing fancy but there was little they wanted for on station.
It was on this small space station however, that Carys first discovered what would become a lifelong love for plants. The top deck of Freeport 15 held a beautiful botanical garden built to display an impressive array of flora from Earth. Carys spent as much time as possible in this wonderous space, so much so that she even became an unofficial part time worker there in her early teen years.
Her second obsession was that of media, particularly films. When not in the botanical gardens, Carys would hover around the port to pester arriving flight crews in hopes they would part with some of their personal collections.
This made her somewhat of a nuisance to the port staff but also very popular amongst the other bored teens of Freeport 15. ‘Carys Jones Cinema’ ran for a solid three years in ‘restricted’ cargo bay 12 and featured screenings often two or three nights a week until 10pm, bed time.
At age seventeen, Carys was offered to study within the University of Galactic Sciences, by proxy, through the Freeport 15 botanical gardens. This essentially meant that she would remain on station and have her studies overseen by the garden staff.
The following years were challenging but equally rewarding and within them, Carys got her wish to visit a planet on numerous occasions. She displayed excellent work ethic and mostly managed a healthy balance between work and down time though ‘Carys Jones Cinema’ did suffer the occasional week without a showing and sometimes had to run repeats.
Aged 22, Carys was offered a spot aboard Atlas. The decision was a hard one, not only did she not want to leave her friends and family but she also felt as though she didn’t deserve a position. Finally, however, she was eventually convinced and after completing the basic training program, she found herself on the verge of the next phase of her life.
