Ocie seldom feels guilty about the kills and believes it is all necessary in order to protect the forest. Although she was raised to believe in Cervoid, she finds other Deities interesting. When Deities are allowed to visit the forest, Ocie is the first one to greet them. She happily listens to their stories and shares her own with them. Of course, this doesn't happen very often but Ocie always looks forward to the next time a Deity will visit.
Despite how scared she is of the Forest, Ocie always tries to put on a smile when she is around other members of her herd. Even though it is obvious that the smile is fake, Ocie likes to believe that if she keeps smiling maybe one day Cervoid will talk to the herd again and things will become much better.

Artifacts: Given to every Cherub, Ocie wields the "Cervoid's Bow". This bow is said to be made from the antlers of Cervoid and was given to members of the herd in order for them to protect the forest. The arrows for this bow are made by the Cherubs with arrowheads made of stone. The bow can be power by Divine Magic, and the user must have the blessing from Cervoid to unlock the bow's full potential. With the Cervoid's blessing, the user can enhance an arrow to cause massive damage when hitting its target. Without the blessing, it is just an ordinary bow. Besides protecting the forest, the herd uses the bow to see if their Cherub have been blessed.

The Cervinae species are a race of deer humanoids. The average male and female Cervinae do not look like a deer, but there are rare cases where a child will be born with deer features. The children that have these features are considered chosen by their Deity, Cervoid, and are considered "Cherubs". Male Cherubs will have antlers while the Female Cherubs will be Deer Ipotanes. The male's antlers are rather small but are made of crystals; and the female's deer half is the colour of gold. Since Cherubs are the pure race of the Cervinea, they are unable to reproduce. Regardless if a Cervinae is a Cherub or not, they are all gifted with extreme speed. Many mortals and a few Deities find it difficult to capture or escape a Cervinae. It's not impossible to catch them, but be prepare for a long run.

Ocie was born into a village that is lost in the mist of the mountains. As soon as Ocie entered the world, her whole life was predestined to in the harsh forest of Cervoid. At a young age, she quickly learned that her furry legs were considered a blessing from the village's Deity. Ocie was born as a Cherub - the chosen mortal of Cervoid- and was raised to prepare herself for their Deity's forest. At first, she was excited to be a Cherub. Everyone made it seem like what she thought was a horrible mistake was actually the best thing to happen to anyone in their religion. Her parents tried to gently tell her what Cervoid's Forest was really like, but it was hard to hear them over all the praises she was getting. Ocie grew to love Cervoid, and she would pray to her every chance she had. She was too young to understand what was going on, so most of her prayers were her just blabbering about random topics to her. She always wore a bright smile and many members were glad such an optimistic girl was going to be their live offering to their Deity. The young girl trained for long hours to prepare her body for the forest and listened closely to the praises the herd had to give to Cervoid. She would try to talk to the Cherubs who returned from the forest, but many of them wouldn't go into great detail of their experience and reassured her she would be fine. With all her training and the praises she received, Ocie continued to grow into a suitable offering.
The young child finally realized the gravity of the situation once she turned fifteen. She and another Cherub named Alba had the same birth month, so the OverSeer of the herd decided that they both will enter the forest on the same day. Ocie got the chance to meet the other Cherub and saw that they weren't half excited as she was about being a live offering. She tried to boost their spirit and reminded them this was the best thing to happen to them. The Cherub quickly shut Ocie down, and told her what being a Cherub and Cervoid's Forest was really like. Since she was pampered her whole life, she didn't listen to what the Cherub had to say; all she thought about what kind of food would be served at their feast. The reality of being a Cherub didn't hit her till the sharp pain of a needle on her right arm. After the "Cervoid's Marking" ceremony, Ocie remained silent for many days. Even on the day she was offered to the forest, she accepted Cervoid's Bow and slowly made her way to the forest without saying a word. Once the two Cherubs got a good look at the horrors of the Forest, she and Alba decided to stick together. The forest was harsh, and the herd didn't prepare the Ocie as well as they should have. But through experience and failure, the two quickly caught onto the way of Cervoid. Once the duo turned seventeen, the two agreed that they no longer needed each other to feel safe. It was hard for Ocie to say goodbye, but she knew if they were to survive the forest they needed to learn how to survive by themselves.
To this day, Ocie is still alive in Cervoid's Forest. The harsh environment has taken a toll on her, but she continues to worship her Deity. She hopes for one day she will finally be a Blessed Cherub. She doesn't strive for this status so she can join the others on Blessing Day or to have more days away from the woods, but in hopes it will get her one step closer for her prayer to be answered. A prayer she prays each night before she goes to bed; for Cervoid to speak to her.

A very long time ago, there were a group strange mortals who lived in an even stranger forest. These mortals went by the name Cervinae and resembled the deer of the forest. All the mortals were deer Ipotanes, and the males had large crystal antlers. Times were tough for the Cervinae, the soil wasn't fit for any seed and the forest was a dangerous place. Some even tried to hunt the beasts of the forest, but soon learned it was a fruitless effort. These beasts were harsh and many of the members found it difficult to survive a battle let alone kill one of them. After many years of famine, the group prayed with all their might for a Deity to save them. After many years of prayer, a Deity was finally born. This Deity had sickly grey skin and her deer half had matted black fur. Her head was the skull of a deer that had the largest crystal antlers anyone had ever seen. A long, matted mess of emerald hair fell past her shoulders; which hid the Deity Marking she had on her back. At first, the Cervinae thought she was a demon and fled from her. The Deity didn't chance them, but did what she was born to do; to save her people. With the flick of the wrist, the Deity spread a crystal dust across the soil. As the dust made contact with the soil, the seeds beneath the soil instantly sprouted back to life. At the sight of this miracle, the Cervinae came out of hiding and praised the Deity. The Deity stopped the Cervinae's praises and asked them to make her a meal from the crops. The herd gracefully did and they prepared the Deity a great feast. During the meal, a few Cervinae were arguing over what they herd should call their Deity. Once the arguing attracted more members to argue, the Deity barely spoke above a whispered and said, "Cervoid". This surprised the herd since they heard many stories of mortals naming their Deity instead of the deity naming themselves. But this wasn't the first time Cervoid acted on her own will. She saw what the forest and what her people needed to survive and she didn't waste any time to fix the problems. Cervoid knew she would have to live with her people if she wished for her methods to be successful. She saw there was no way for the soil to revert back to normal and it would require her Divine Magic, but she also knew there was no point of bringing life to the forest if the Cervinae would ruin it. So the first thing she forced upon her people was a code to follow. These were considered The Code Of Cervoid: Protect, Preserve, and Promote Life Within the Forest. She taught the herd how to survive this terrane and what they must do for the crops if they wish for her to use her Divine Magic. She also made peace with the creatures of the forest, and many of the creatures assisted the herd with their crops. Cervoid also gave the herd one rule; if the blood of a beast soaks the soil, the forest will turn on you. The Cervinea agreed to Cervoid's terms and for many centuries, the Deity and her people lived together in peace.
However, this peace did not last for long. Word of The Deity Of Peace, Jeno, death reached Cervoid's forest and caused a panic for both Cervoid and her people. Many of the Cervinea looked to Cervoid for answers of what was happening among the Deity community, so she decided to take a trip to the Upper World to find out. She told her people she may be gone for a while, but as long as they keep their faith the soil should thrive. The death of Jeno caused mixed emotion among some of the Cervinea, and some even started to question Cervoid. After a year had passed and with no sign of Cervoid, the herd started to lose their faith. As their faith grew weaker, so did the soil and soon there was another famine. Many panic at the thought of starving and some even set out to hunt the beast of the forest. Part of the herd tried to stop them and reminded them the rule their Deity made, but in the end the hunger in some was too powerful. No one is for sure who did it or what beast it was, but they do remember the screams that came from Cervoid when she found out. Cervoid returned many months after the slaughter of the beast and was horrified by what she saw. While the forest was dying and blood had been shed, the Cervinea were celebrating and praying to her. They were praying after so much time has past since she felt their last prayer. Filled with rage and a large amount of Divine Magic, Cervoid turned the beast on the Cervinea and chased them out of the forest. Once all of her people were out, she placed a curse upon them. Those who ate from the slain beast slowly lose their deer features and those who did not felt the firey pain of the Deity's Marking being engraved onto their flesh. With the Cervinea filled with fear, Cervoid's voice echoed from the forest, "Only The Pure Shall Step Foot Into My Forest." And as her voice slowly drifted away, that was the last time anyone ever heard from Cervoid.
Many seasons have passed since the Cervinea were banished from the woods, and through famine they learned that their Deity didn't completely turn her back on her people. The pure Cervinea were the ones who followed The Code Of Cerviod while the others continue to worship her. It took many centuries of worship and prayer till Cervoid finally blessed the soil. To this day, all Cervinea fear the wrath of the deity their ancestor had created and prayed each day the Cherub do not make the same mistake a few hungry Cervinea did many years ago.

Once a Cherubs turns fifteen, they are ready to enter the forest. It is a two-day celebration. The first day the herd holds the "Cervoid's Marking" ceremony. The Overseer of the herd prays all day to Cervoid and ask where the marking should be placed on the Cherub. While the Overseer is praying, the whole herd is celebrating and preparing for the feast. Once the feast is over, the Overseer joins the herd and begins the ceremony. Since Cervoid doesn’t talk to her people, the Overseer places the marking upon the part he spiritually feels is the best place. The second day, the herd offers the Cherub to Cervoid's Forest. The OverSeer presents the young Cherub Cervoid's Bow and says one final prayer before they depart. For the rest of the second day, the majority of the herd pray for the Cherub to have a safe first night.
Another two-day event that takes place at the end of every other month. This is a religious event and the herds way of celebrating their Deity. This is the few occasions the Cherubs are allowed to return to the herd. Since they can not leave the forest unprotected, the herd dedicates the first day to the female Cherubs and the second day for the male Cherubs. This day is not meant to glorify the Cherubs, but to give thanks to the great harvest. The Cherubs are simply there as a way to show how gracious their Deity is for protecting their people, and to hear the stories of the forest from them.
Once a Cherub has received the blessing from Cervoid, they unlocked their full potential not only with Cervoid's bow but within themselves. Through prayer, they can borrow Cervoid's Divine Magic in order to gain the magic they need to help the herd's harvest. Given the location of the herd, many seeds do not thrive in the natural soil. The herd needs a Blessed Cherub to make the soil fertile. So when a Cherub becomes blessed, it is a big deal. These Cherub get to join the other Blessed Cherubs back in the village where they are praised for their hard work and given a fine clothing and a delicious feast. Not only do they have their own special day once a year, but they also get a chance to return to the village once a month so they can bless the soil.
