When you think of a deity, what do you imagine? Do you imagine an all powerful being capable of omniscience? A being so powerful that they created both the world and the mortals that inhabit it? Well what if the world and mortals had already existed beforehand, and the mortals were actually the ones that had created the deities? Well, a long time ago in Altreni, mortals began to pray to fictional gods, creating religion after religion in an effort to explain the world around them. After many centuries of praying and building monuments in the name of the non-existent gods, these non-existent gods actually came into being.

Shortly after being born into the world the deities realized that the prayer from the mortals was actually a large source of their power. In an effort to obtain more strength they aided the mortals, keeping watch over them and even giving them special powers and blessings to those who were truly devout and/or impressed them. Due to this, prayer and worship increased rapidly, resulting in the birth a whole slew of deities. Eventually the deities became powerful enough to create small pocket dimensions. The first pocket realms created were very small in size and used as homes or thinking spaces for some of the deities, however as more gods were created a bigger more ambitious realm was created that would serve as the main homes for most deities. This realm became known as the Upper World, and with every new deity created, the realm continued to expand and grow.

Overall the world of Altreni seemed to be a great and magical place to live in. Sure there were wars and blood was shed between different kingdoms and religious groups, but for the most part the world was very stable. Of course, things could not always stay this way, as one deity named Jeno decided that the best thing for Altreni was to overthrow the strongest deity known as Alithos. By setting up a fake meeting between just the two of them, Jeno prepared for an ambush. Alithos however, was too strong and was able to win in the end, banishing Jeno to the void for eternity.

Once news of Jeno’s banishment reached the mortals a large amount of worshippers revolted against the gods and stopped praying entirely, leaving the deities in a much weaker state. Jeno was supposed to be the god of peace, so why would he attack Alithos, the strongest deity? The former worshippers began to paint Alithos and many of the other deities as murderers and traitors not worthy of receiving worship. Virtually every deity was affected by this rapid decline in worship, excluding a few minor deities that were worshipped by only one or a few minor races as the majority of people that abandoned the gods were human.

With the collapse in the power of the deities, Altreni became politically unstable as new wars and conflicts began to arise. To make matters worse, Mysterious Beings were beginning to appear at a much quicker rate. It’s only a matter of time before things spiral out of control.

Note: Keep in mind that Mortal characters should be very strong for their race. Also feel free to worship another PC god if you play as a mortal.

Rules:

1. Nothing is absolute, any attack can be countered, dodged, overpowered, or blocked. It is impossible to have an attack that always hits its mark or an attack that can pierce through anything.
2. No godmodding or metagaming
3. All the rules of this site still apply. (Obviously)
4. No controlling, or killing any other character that is not under your direct control.
5. Do not determine the outcome of an action by yourself unless it is used in your own side-quest/path that is not being parsed by either me or the Co-host.
6. Don’t post a character sheet in the character sheet tab until I confirm that your character is good.

Yes, it's finally up!

Something i started to wonder about as i read the hiders was the artifacts. Most notably the divine ones and their need to be recharged.
Me not knowing how to actually make artifacts ingame, i decided my guy could simply make just about any artifact with the right preparations. So i gave him great knowledge of magic, but he won't be able to go around tossing arcane storms or fire tornadoes. Perhaps a fireball or two but that's it. His arcane knowledge focused on making artifacts.

So i have this early draft, i'm still a bit curious about how to create artifacts.

.........................................
Name: Ha
Nicknames/Titles: lord of the forge, master of arms, steel personified, chivalry's father.

Gender: Ha sees himself and holds the form of a male.

Age: About 11'500 years old.

Base Appearance:
Ha, has the appearance of a massive knight clad in black steel armour, told to be taller than the tallest pine in the forest, he wields great strength in combat, but is also intelligent. Armed with a massive sword which never cooled after its forging, and never will. How Ha looks beneath his harness is unknown and non who have tried have ever succeeded to persuade him to show. Neither through words or martial prowess.

Other Appearances: Ha isn't known to take on any different appearances. But can change his size.

Personality: Ha is a stout individual, that values his solitude, he often resides within his forge and contemplate upon his next wonder he will construct.
When he leaves his forge, he commands without doubt and demands the very best of each of his subjects. Failure is frowned upon and to fail Ha himself is often punished, at times even with death.
He is contemplative and resourceful in nature, never rushing into a situation. Ha values honor and chivalry, and as such gives those who live by its codes the respect they deserve.
Ha finds the mortals recent lack of faith an afront to deities. They would be nothing without the careful guidance of gods and they should be more thankful. Ha finds Jeno's treachery unexpected and completely abhorrent. Treason goes against Ha's moral centre and as such he thinks Jeno's fate was well deserved.
Ha often likes to make a show out of things, making unnecessary statements and pretentious acts.

Skills: Ha as the god of chivalry holds massive skill in swordplay and strategy. He seldom needs to fight all out. He also is the god of the forge, he has all but mastered the art of forging artifacts in all of their forms. None can make artifacts greater than Ha it is told.
While Ha could create artifacts that are not necessarily forged, he finds them a bit more challenging. Making a silken weave isn't his forté but he could make it.

Preferred Field of Magic: Ha focuses on any magic which makes him more proficient at artifact forging. So while he has great knowledge in arcane magics within the areas of fire, earth, wind and raw energy and how it can be infused in objects, Ha mainly uses divine magic.

Spells/Abilities: Ha has the ability to create simple objects of war at will, weapons and armour can be created at a whim, with effort and magic he can make even larger weapons of war or fortifications of legend.
He also takes little damage from heat, and blunt weapons seems to do little harm upon him.

Fighting Style: Ha is a master of the blade, fighting with skillful strikes and keeping on the offense, relying on his prominent armour for defense, he fights up close only if he has to though. He usually tries to let others fight for him as he sees himself as a general and commander.

Artifacts: Ha wields the sword "Ember" when it strikes home the blade bursts into flame making it cut through armour like cloth and bathing the struck in flames. Normal mortals cannot hope to survive its strike, although epic heroes with powerful weapons might be able to parry Ember's might.
Ha also wields a runic hammer of the forge, by some told to be the greatest hammer, and named after Ha himself ,Ha-mmer. With its might, less magical resources is needed when forging magical artifacts. And its strike can shake mountains, but is unwieldy in combat.

Pocket Dimensions and Home: Ha lives in his divine forge, a massive foundry made of marble filled with all sorts of wondrous tools for crafting and smithing, Ha has gifted the understanding of many a tool to mortals. The foundry stands atop a fire spewing mountain within his small realm, which basically only contain the mountain with the forge and some burnt forest around the base of the mountain.
It is said that every furnace is a gate to the divine forge, while this is an exaggeration Ha does have a great affinity to the forges of the mortals and usually acts from or near them.

Biography: At the first stroke of a hammer against the first anvil, Ha was born. Is how his followers describe him. His form gradually became that of the towering blackened steel warrior as his crafts were used more and more for war. Ha is popular with armies and generals that uphold the laws of chivalry. Knights often have Ha's blessing, albeit seldom in more than a figurative sense.
More anarchistic forces tend to dislike Ha, mostly since he is always their opponent.
After the fall of Jeno, Ha's image was torn between the factions of mortals. Many feared the wrothful hand of the lord of crafts, some claimed him making artifacts for Jeno, something that when Ha heard of, he himself personally smote them for doubting his honor. Acts that have had a myriad of effects upon the mortals view of Ha.
But above all it reinforced the view of Ha as a wrothful and vengeful deity, someone that was quick to strike where he saw wrong.
However Ha isn't nearly as wrothful as mortals think him to be, he is far more controlled in his actions and always try to justify his acts. Ha is not shy of helping those that uphold his values. Smiths, warriors of chivalry and those who command.

Ha is usually worshipped by humans.

Dominion(s): Steel, forging and crafts, weapons, chivalry, walls.

Just a few things I feel like I should point out. Artifacts are basically non-consumable items (e.g. weapons, rings, shields, armor, etc...) that are highly enhanced magically in some way or another. Once a mortal or deity decides on a type of artifact they wish to create, they can then collect resources, or in the case of deities just conjure them up unless they're extremely rare, though a mortal can also conjure up more simple resources as well. From there they pour in magical energy, either from their own power, the environment around them, or both. You still need some experience creating an artifact though, and thus a mortal that specializes in thunder magic would have a lot of trouble creating a water dagger unless they actually had some specialization in water magic as well. Deities can bypass this rule through the use of divine magic, and they can even just charge an item with "raw" divine magic instead if they want. This would effectively give the wielder control over any field in magic until it runs out of mana. Divine artifacts need to be recharged by a god once they run out of energy though, so most artifacts are based off of arcane magic instead.

Regarding your character @Klomster

Notes: Even if you focus heavily on the creation of artifacts, you still have more than enough divine magic to easily create a fire tornado or an arcane thunder storm.

Appearance: Regarding his size, He should at max (in base form) be around 12 - 15 feet tall. Growing any size larger than that should be reserved for other occasions. You're still allowed to keep yourself always at the larger height if you'd like. Just keep in mind if you become severely injured you will be reduced to your normal size. (I probably should have specified this though)

Skills: Your character is not the greatest at creating artifacts. He only excels at it (by quite a lot) compared to other characters around his level.

Preferred Field of Magic: Please limit yourself to 1 - 5 fields of magic.

Fighting Style: Please elaborate. How does he use his sword? Does he fight with misdirection? Does he swing wildly? Does he fight in a skillful manner? Does he have any strengths in combat? (e.g. bypassing his opponents defenses, fighting against multiple foes, etc...) What weaknesses does he have in combat? Is he clumsy? (for a deity) Does he tend to leave himself open when he has the upper hand? Does he have trouble hitting faster opponents? etc...

Artifacts: Your hammer should not be the first hammer in all of existence. (Just reread it as "told to be the first hammer" so please ignore this unless you wanted it to actually be the first hammer)

Pocket Dimensions and Home: Is there anything outside of the foundry? Or is it literally just the foundry by itself? (Keep in mind your portal dimension should not be more than a couple miles wide)

Biography: "A biography detailing the growth and popularity of your character as a deity, as well as how the followers view their deity. Are any of their views regarding your deity incorrect?" You left this as the first sentence. :P

You should not have been born on the first strike of a hammer against an anvil. This should be a misconception as your character would not have lived at this point in time.

Also what species of mortal tends to worship you? (I accidentally forgot to add this in, so it's not your fault)

Contradictions: You were born when the first hammer struck an anvil, but you also have the first hammer in all of existence. In your religions lore, does this mean you stole the first hammer in existence from some guy after he hit it on an anvil?

Ok, i will work on the notes you've made.
Also i should make a non descriptive section with his looks and some clarifications. Also a secrets section.

As with the hammer... i copy pasted some info from an rp that died, so i forgot to properly proofread some things. I guess i should clarify and think that part over :P

Also i like the idea of Ha taking the hammer... so yes >:D

Edit: Now my character sheet should be up to par. Please take another look.
I've also added some stuff.
People may read the 'secret stuff' hider. But it is things probably only Ha knows and thus would be godmodding if someone just found out. Of course it could be found out in game (and should be) though.

Thank you for your interest ^^

You can either worship a made-up deity, or another player. (If you do decide to make up an NPC deity, I can reject it if I feel it doesn't work. Though, it probably won't be rejected unless it's something like "The deity of doorknobs" or something crazy like that.)

If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask. :)

Only if you make him super OP! Sorry, but no XD

Do we need to do a character sheet for demigods?

Depends, are you playing as a demigod? Or are you playing as a deity that already has some established demigods under him? If it's the former, then yes.

If it's the latter, you can just mention them briefly, along with whatever arcane magic they like to use. (Though I may ask you to create a second character sheet for them if they appear often enough.)

Still love the fact this rp is tagged as advanced casual.

Wonder what happened to the people from the interest check? I think some have shown up. But not all.

There were only two other people from the interest check, and they may have lost interest. Either that or they just haven't posted yet and are writing up a sheet. It's to early to tell really.

@Smile Keep in mind there may be a few more changes that need to occur with your character (mostly regarding the deity), as there are one or two things I'd like to discuss with the Co-Gm.

Personality: How does Ocie personally feel about Jeno's banishment?

Spells/Abilities: Does Ocie have any special tricks when she uses her bow? (e.g. can she shoot out more than one arrow at a time? Or perhaps channel magic into her arrow or something of the sort?)

Ocie can revive plants, but can she also control them and/or make them more durable?

Fighting Style: So she has problems with extended battles then? How does she (normally) act if an enemy were to get close and personal?

Artifacts: Can one channel Arcane Magic into the "Cervoid's Bow"? Also you do realize that you'll need to get it recharged by the deity if it runs out of divine magic right? (This is more just clarification, as there may be a few times where you can not reach a deity and will have to fight without its full power)

How does the "Cervoid's Bow" compare to an average bow (without blessings/divine magic)? Is it stronger, or is it truly average?

Biography: What exactly is the forest like? (A brief summary or explanation will work just fine)

Contradictions: In the special event - Cervoid's Cherub: It is stated that the Cervinae Overseer presents the young cherub(s) with the artifact "Cervoid's bow." But how does the Overseer obtain this artifact if Cervoid does not talk to the Cervinae?

Note to everyone: I'm not going to point out every mistake on a character sheet. I will only point out things that may be confusing to other players.

Oh, very small update to the introductory post. Jeno has been imprisoned in the void for a little over 250 years. (I've added it in the OP now, under important events - The Traitor Deity)

And now you all know!

Could you please establish what the death system is? Is there an afterlife, multiple, none? Do dead people still worship deities while in the afterlife? Etc.
