@Snarl Looks really cool. You could put it in the Char tab as a post for Places or something like that?

ah thanks c: That'll probably be an easier way for everyone to find it. I'll post it there when I'm done.
Currently working on tavern of Heroes set up. I'll probably post it here since idk where I would put it. I'll also add it into the IC when all of our characters arrive there.

Also will be working on the NPCs that work there. Most likely just 2. The owner of the tavern and his daughter.

Jere was awestruck at the archer single-handedly killing the basilisk. He knew the man must have been skilled- for who could have such a manner and wear a bow so proudly without at least knowing what they were doing? The elf felt a wave of admiration fall over him for the other man- but it soon gave way to alarm when Veltis fell to his knees, seemingly hurt. However, before he could move to the aid of his teammate, a woman dressed in heavy armor was at once by his side. They spoke- words muffled by the hellish screams around them- and she healed him.

Grateful for this new arrivals help he knew that he would not be needed by Veltis after all. The Beast tamer turned toward the chaos at hand. Below him Bo was in a rage- the world was in bedlam and they had made no move to help.

The smell of charred and sweltering flesh filled their noses. They would need to put out the flames on these poor people. Wolf and man shared a thought- at once they bounded into the flurry of screams and lit bodies.

Bo clawed at the earth and dashed mounds of dirt at the people- enough to snuff out the flames. Exhausted they fell to the ground, one by one. Jere jumped off of Bo's back and began to drag the people on to his mount. These people were, for the most part, unconcious and badly hurt. But those that he could save he implored Bo to take them back to the gates. The wolf did as he was asked and was soon crossing the battlefield, sure to keep an even enough pace so the wounded would not fall off of him.

And so Jere was out in the open. He searched for a sword and soon found one- blackened by the flames of the lava demons. There were only a few left (3? Or 2 idk)- but he knew that he could do nothing about them. They were close by but did not seem concerned with him.

I can't even touch them.. he thought, feeling tiny and useless. He desperately wished he knew magic- it seemed to him like using magic and long-ranged weapons were the only way to deal with these monsters.

@AokageHe felt the presence of the woman from earlier near him, he glanced toward her before looking back at the demons,

"Thanks for helping my teammate earlier. I'm Jere." And barely before he could finish his sentence his companion was by his side, eyes on the demons as if glares were daggers,

"And he's Bo."

I agree, and so our GM knows what's up, we can just add Snarl to the PM invite list, to moderate if needed.

Yeah that all sounds good to me c: I was thinking of setting up a chatroom, but I forgot about the pm function. So feel free to go ahead and set that up guys~
Yeah, since ayiva isnt going to be online, does that mean Cleric and tactician will have to hande the screecher by ourselves then? Along with dispatching the remaining crows?

Also need to wait on mace master, and for veltis, jere and him to fight off our foes.... Xp a lot of waiting!

Give Aivya and others just one day. If they don't reply by then, then you can continue. Their catch-up posts can hint toward their helping or fleeing or whatever. I'd rather we continue the story than wait a week because they were too lazy/busy/careless to tell everyone that they would be gone.

I'll get my Jere post up tonight.

@Dragonite777 knows what they're doing- follow them in making sure your posts aren't dependent on the reply of someone else's character.
*clears throat*

So the first team have completed their quest. A few things usually happen next- the survivors are brought into town- they'll all be checked by a physician right at the gate and then taken to the palace where they will be fed.

I plan on having a celebreatory ceremony when everyones done with their quests. But until that happens people need to wait for the others- just not to clutter the IC with downtime posts, it'll compel people to get stuff done quicker.

After the big ceremony they'll be paraded through town and brought to the Tavern of Heroes- where they'll receive their coin and free room and board at this place.

The concept of the Tavern of Heroes is thus- Its a home base for the characters. They can sleep, eat, and drink there. I'll make the npcs that belong and serve there. A Quest Board is posted in the hall and your characters can sign up for quests there. The tavern is equipped with an armory shop where your characters can buy weapons and armor- an apothecary garden in the back- a collection of spellbooks in a library on the second floor (amongst other kinds of books concerning skills/knowledge). It's independent from the Crown.

I'll take ideas and suggestions to make the tavern better :'D but of course it is not mandatory for your character to live there! They can become completely independent of you want. But those that do stay in the Tavern have a chance of making their groups official.
Bo snorted at Adrial as he walked away and nipped at the air where the cleric had stood- reflecting the anger that both beast and tamer felt toward the man. They both watched him walk away before Jere brought Bo's attention away from him,

"He isn't the enemy, Bo, remember that. We're all here to protect the people of Maplestead."

Just then the crier raised his voice, announcing who Jere and Bo would be teamed with. What happened next was rather rushed- after the crier finished the crowd cheered and separated, allowing the others to head toward their destinations.

Jere climbed bareback on to Bo, gripping at the shaggy blue fur of his companion. Their hearts began to palpitate and sync together- the beast tamer felt the anger of his mount melt into a restlessness to sink their- no his- teeth into flesh. His uneasiness was overshadowed by the beasts aggression. As they paced through the town on their way to the gates the elves eyes glazed over, all was a blur to him.

~~~~
Outside Jere winced at the sight of the lava demons and the Basilisk. His hand on hand tactics would be useless against them. Below him Bo seemed undeterred by the task. Jere leaned his head down as if to speak into the animals ear- but the rusty red eyes of his companion turned toward him as if to hush his words.
Rend the flesh. Blood- blood to drown my nose. Images of gore flooded Jere's senses at these grotesque words that rang through his head, in a voice not of his own. Bo always spoke to him when they faught- with a vulgar vocabulary that disturbed him.
The Basilisk let out a roar as it crushed some stables in its haste to attack the assembled townspeople. The beast tamer and his creature spotted a young man, shabbily armored, run away from the demon- they sprang to his aid, only to be splattered by the boys blood as the Basilisk crushed him. A growl, low and predatorial, escaped their lips as they looked up into the eyes of the demon. It lifted both front feet to crush them, but they dove away in time.
Jere noted that the hide of the Basilisk was inpenetrable and not even Bo's bite could do anything. If they touched the lava demons they would be killed. As they circled baxk to the group he looked on toward his group- the tree of a man and the flamboyant archer,
"We need to cool down the lava demons somehow- or hit them only on the already cooled parts. And that big one... Its eyes." He looked at the archer,
@Happy Go Lucky"Shoot its eyes and blind it." He said, "Because we can't get past its defenses."
Someone out on the field screamed and he turned his head just in time to see a man, now armless, running away from a lava demon. It sluggishly pursued him for a moment before losing interest and shooting lava blasts at things.
@Snarl lol, I believe Brennen has spoken his first words since getting to Maplewood just now XD
It took a battle to make him talk.
Lol thats true! He's just been inwardly monologuing the whole time xD
@Snarl So, can Cecelia "know a guy" who could purchase a captured bird at a later time?
P.S. (If it was announced of my goings away since Tuesday) I'm back.
Yes most definitely. Who your characters have known in the past is up to you. I'll allow it c:
<Snipped quote by Dragonite777>
I meant like we were rushed out into the fire already before we got to speak with each other about strategies, saying hi to each other, or something xD
Hmm. That is true- some situations don't leave your characters much area to talk. You could always just have your characters speak on the field though... Like have your character honestly just scream "I'm going to SHOOT IT IN THE FACE" and then someone could be all "lol not a good idea. How about we just spread out" idk..
Or you can all just plan in OOC or pm and have it seem like your characters already discussed on the walk toward the gates.
@Snarl Quick question, do we get to dictate the pace of the battle (I.E. we get to control how the monsters act and react to our actions and attacks), or will that be entirely up to World / Monster(?) posts? I suddenly realized this when I was about to post that I might be overstepping my bounds. I do realize that the latter might be a lot for you, but still. I just want to confirm on this part.
Yeah no thats way too much work for me .-. You guys can dictate. If I had more help then I'd say sure, I and someone else could- but I don't have the power to appoint more co-gms.
@Aokage accepted c: you can tag along with any of the teams that you choose- your character can be one of the others that the crier mentioned. You can even be part of a team that just went to the same place as the other teams.
