Alistair Havanda | | Casual
Alistair had been sitting quietly in his home when the first of the broadcasts had come on. He turned the television off once the last one ended and put a cigarette in his mouth. Just because the city was falling, didn't mean he was going to smoke in his house. He was renting, after all. He stood and walked outside, fully aware that bots could be just about anywhere. Thankfully, he was never afraid of those damn spider bots. Still, he couldn't really do anything without orders from his higher ups. Unless some of the bots showed up in casual. Surely he would be able to get away with helping then.
Still, it didn't matter. He should go where he was needed.
A sigh escaped Alistair as he sat down on the steps outside. Maybe leaving the ocean for the surface was a bad idea. He lit the tobacco and took a drag. These things were the worst, but for some reason, he enjoyed them. He loosened his tie and looked out over casual. There was no way he was going to work today. While the docks in Character Sheets were the best place for getting information, there was no way in hell he was cutting across General Interest now that it was getting hit by the bots.
"What a waste of a day." His usually sing song voice was darkened by slight anger. He was not happy at all.
A siren when off some distance away. Then another. Another.
Was casual was under attack?
No. The interest checks.
Alistair gritted his teeth, biting the butt in his mouth in half. Great, another waste.
"That's it! I gotta let off some steam!" He went inside and grabbed some bread and a cup of milk. He picked up his pack, filled mostly with energy bars, water, and basic medical supplies, and ran out the door. He chugged the milk and tossed the glass, hearing it shatter as he continued on. As he passed by, most of casual seemed to be a ghost town. Anyone outside appeared to be unaware of what was going on, or organizing to defend their homes. He told the kids to go back inside, but most of them wouldn't listen. It wasn't his job to take care of kids though.
Just before he arrived, he received a call. It was more of a notice than an actual call.
"Move to Casual Interest and deal with the bots. You will have allies, try not to get them killed." After a pause, the automated voice said, "You have your orders."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, boss." Alistair hung up and looked around. There really wasn't very many people around, just bots. Thankfully, someone falling from the sky was always a good sign. That must be one of them. The siren decided to head towards whomever that was. Before moving, he took a bottle of water out of his pack. Best to have some on hand should one of the KBots find him.
Before he could leave the area, Alistair's forethought came to fruition. A KBot N launched an attack. He was only startled for a moment, but it was long enough for it to locate him. He took cover behind the corner of a building.
"Finally! Some action!" he smirked, happy he was going to get some revenge. The cap to the water bottle twisted off easily, and he dumped the contents, using his magic to form it into a bubble. With a wave of his hand, the water broke up into several moderately sized needles. He moved out and aimed at the bot. Another wave and the water spikes pierced through the things metal shell and burst within, causing it to short circuit.
"This is far too easy." He gathered what little water remained. Had to save what he could.
Leaving the now burned out machine behind, he ran off in the direction of the person that fell out the sky.
