Where their objective is not to reach Eren's basement, but to reach the box of spoiled, rotten, festering with maggots and incurable diseases B L A C K F O R E S T H A M
@wolverbells that's lewd!

@LordVoldemort And become slices of ham for those Titans ourselves? Nothing like the adrenaline of near death experiences and eternal suffering all around to keep the heart pumping, amirite
@wolverbells

Too bad there won't be a box for anyone, anymore! Those damn Titans always ruining everything..

@Jinxer

Unfortunately, it's still likely to leave a bit of a sour outlook for myself and probably some others, but I've been through this type of cesspool for the seven or so years I've been writing on the Guild, and I can adapt accordingly without as much bad blood. That seems to be the only better approach, and I rather take that approach then do something unspeakably ridiculous like revert the timeline. Thanks for at least considering.

I would just hope that there is actual communication for times to come, instead of jumping the gun.

I'm just upset that nobody got to say WHAT'S IN THE BOX to Reese
Yeah, but when you've got people who specifically asked to hold off so that they could involve their characters with others or however they wished to see fit, I've got a problem when that's neglected.

An additional post, considering the average length of each one thus far, for those people does not hurt the progression by any means. I would have much preferred to at least seen some actual interesting qualities in everybody's characters besides the eventual "I'm suffering from PTSD due to this breach" episode.
I do feel like the breach post should have happened later today instead of earlier. I don't think there was enough interaction or the opportunity to get others involved that much. A lot of wasted potential for character development and fleshening of dynamics.
Reese Kestrel

Many of the adults, his family included, had always been very criticizing of the Scouting Legion, and as much as Reese could argue about their sacrifices for the protection and survival of humanity, he would never go as far as to call those men and women fodder. His uncle had often advised the young boy about his softness, stating that his generosity would be taken advantage of and run his father's business to the ground.

"Your father would have said the same thing," Kled Kestrel sighed, removing his forehead from the boy's own and standing upright. Reese puffed his cheeks, a usual sign of his frustration in a pouty manner. "Those scouts are nothing but a waste of our coin and resources."

The youth looked up with big eyes.
"I don't care," Reese complained. "Just look at them, uncle! They're all hurt, and starving, all while they have to carry their own friends' dead bodies back!"

His uncle shook his head, turning his back to the boy. "Reese, I want you to look around. All these people, the ones who aren't soldiersβ€” these ordinary people need our supplies more than them," Reese looked to his own feet, listening quietly. "And yet, we are the people who must pay taxes and dues, just to fund a campaign without an objective."

While Reese continued to stare at the floor, his uncle turned around with a slight frown, placing a hand on the boy's head. "That is simply the reality of our world, sonny. A good heart like yours shouldn't be trying to protect every single soul of humanity, but rather, the humanity towards you."

He looked up to his uncle meekly, his cheeks reddening from the display of affection. Kled ruffled his nephew's hair, smiling before he pulled away. "Now, Reese, could you take this to Maston's in the market? He should already have the coin for these cuts ready to pick up when you get there."

Reese nodded as his uncle lifted a small crate of meat from their wagon, transferring its weight to the boy. There was a brief moment of struggle before his feet were set, and he started towards the marketplace. "I'll be at the southern end for a while, come find me when you're done!" Kled called out before disappearing from view.

The youth drew a sigh, the thoughts continuing to weigh heavily on him; while his uncle's words has reached him through and well, he could not understand them at the deeper level. To him, all of humanity around him should be preserved and safeguarded, but what was it that his uncle meant?

As protocol, Reese lifted the lid of the crate only slightly, peering into the box as his mouth began to water. Several cuts of smoked meat were inside, a delicacy that was extremely rare in the districts outside of Wall Sina. Closing it, he altered his course for the northern gates, figuring that the delivery was not the most urgent of tasks. The pictures of the deceased scouts had become ingrained into the boy's memory, the haunting guise from each soldier sending chills down his spine. A moment of respite would ease his nerves, he thought.

While the idea of a young boy carrying a crate of meat was within reason for one of the Garrison to stop Reese at the gates, their mind had quickly changed after the soldier began to stuff their face with a sausage. His detour was one of beauty, his appreciation for the land only growing as he began to walk along the luscious grasslands once more. The boy's eyes were lit with awe, the longer bangs of his hair unraveling with the wind.

Reese kept the crate balanced in his arms as he spotted a group of other children by the hill, recognizing them. Even with his less than frequent visits to Shiganshina, the time their caravan would spend resting in the district had given the boy more than enough time to acquaint and befriend others. The Stone bakery was often a destination for both supplies and a snack, which is where he would come to meet the rest of them.

"Hey," Reese greeted in an unintentional soft manner, approaching the group and easily knowing the names of each face. It had been two months since his last time in Shiganshina, always making him wonder if they were ever surprised to see him. Clearing his throat, the boy looked to Gabriel, before cycling his sight around the others. "Hey, guys. I'm back!" Reese said with a renewed confidence.
Home from the party, wazzupppp

I'd say it would be good habit to allow at least two other posters to get in before you would do another one. I'm writing a post right now!
Going to be out for most of today, and maybe a little of tomorrow! Mother's Day stuff.
