Kai is able to manipulate any existing water in her environment, to a degree. She is very unskilled in its actual application, however, having had very little time to practice once she realized what she could do.
One thing that could be considered a weakness is that Kai is a natural pacifist, and will almost never go all out attempting to hurt someone. A side effect of this, however, is that age is very skilled with non-lethal takedowns. She can jam guns, restrict movements, and almost entirely envelop someone if enough water is available, imprisoning them on the spot.
There is much more room for Kai's grasp on her powers to develop, but she is reluctant to learn anything which could hurt others, even if it would be done in self-defense.

Bio: Born originally on the big island of Hawai'i where her parents originated, Kai was fortunate enough that when they ended up moving to California for her mother's very successful startup tech business, they settled down in Santa Cruz, incredibly close to the ocean, her first real love. As soon as she started school, Kai was the one that made it her personal mission to make friends with everyone in her class - and of course, with determination like hers, she succeeded. Even if they were now living in California, Kai was raised with a very much Hawaiian way of life, learning many of the finer details to real knowledge from her mother, and learning her positive outlook on life from her father, who taught her how to play the ukulele and surf, as well.
Soon after she began to surf, however, it became apparent that she was more than just a quick learner. The best waves always just seemed to find Kai more than anyone else, and after a few more mysterious events involving water - especially a rather dramatic one involving a drowning child that she spotted one day - she inadvertently roused the attention of a shady, mysterious organization. Before she could even begin to fully process what she was capable of, Kai was kidnapped and whisked away to be sold into veritable slavery.
Personality: Kai is at once a bubbly, outgoing girl. She's quick to make friends and diligent in ensuring that she loses none of them, utterly devoted to the people that she cares for. Even through the darkest of times, she remains stubbornly positive, always searching for hope, or at least a silver lining, in any situation. She's also naturally curious, and perhaps just a tad blunt at times, never one to leave an obvious question unasked.
