Prisoners
Amazons Faction
Faction Name:
The Amazons
Leader:
Hippolyta
Pronunciation: Hih-pole-eye-tee
Power:
Adoptive Muscle Memory
Purpose:
The Amazons faction serves as a protection faction for women from the men. Though it started allowing any woman or girl in, they later became selective with time. Nowadays, they only protect women who they believe will later benefit them.
Age:
As old as the prison
History:
The Amazons was created by Hipp, a strong woman who had become quick friends with a sweet, beautiful eighteen year old girl named Lila. Lila had become a fast favorite of the ruthless men of the prison, subjected to horror and degradation. However, Lila could not do much about it since her power was used to heal others. Eventually, Lila had succumbed to the cruelty the men pushed onto her and killed herself. Hipp, angry at the injustice of it all, started the Amazons, recruiting every strong girl she could to protect other women from the same fate as Lila. This continued for a very long time, until it came to Maddie U. Sir or as she became known as, Snake. It was a silly, stupid name, but it had its reasons to exist. While Snake masqueraded as one for the women, she surreptitiously began weeding the weaker women out in order to create a more stronger faction. Her intentions were unknown - why would the Amazons needs to be stronger? There were rumors that it was due to wanting to take out all the other factions, but it is still unknown. Eventually, Snake was killed by her right-hand women who proceeded to take over the Amazons and continue the tradition of her predecessor of only accepting the strong women. They still intervened as much as they could when a woman was taken advantage of, there was still little to offer the women who were not accepted into the Amazons. Through time, their purpose became diluted and the Amazons started to become just as territorial as the rest. It at first started as a refuge, but now was just another faction fighting for dominance.
When Hippolyta was transported into the prison four years ago, she had refused to join any faction, even the Amazons. As such, she was often subject to many fights and wounds. The current leader of the Amazons was particularly cruel to her, afraid that Hippolyta, a stronger woman than her, could take over her position. Though, Hippolyta had no intention, the responsibility of leadership befell her when she killed the current leader. She was reluctant to take over, but when she did, it came natural to her and she started out to make new reforms. Though it angered some, she began to accept women considered weaker to others, willing to use them for other such things such as spying as well as to offer more women refuge. She did it in small doses, not wanting to stir the Amazons masses too much to cause a coup d'etat. She has been the leaders for two and a half years.

SOUL
Leader:
Jackson Stone
Power:
Flux Coat
Purpose:
To provide a well working, safe group for metas to belong, as well as combining some of the rougher elements of Jackson's life. Arena fights between regulars as a way to reorganize the hierarchy, extorting and stealing from other prisoners to bribe guards, etc.
Age:
6 Months
History:
After a month of being transferred into the centre, Jackson created the faction SOUL. He recruited members that considered themselves factionless or didn't want to join any other faction. They trained in the arena, defeating several well known inmates in battle. From here, the faction grew relationships with some of the guards, as well as gaining respect by doing jobs for different people and making sure guards weren't around. After a few months they recruited a guy named "Auction Master" who could change the appearance of his body using illusions. They started raiding auctions and killing the metas they would sell to the highest bidder. AM would disguise himself as other prisoners and the prisoner he disguised as would be killed or... Something else.
Leadership:
The King: Jackson Stone, and only Jackson Stone. If the king dies, the faction will be passed onto the Prince. Jackson is well renowned, and he is known as someone not to fuck with. Guards will most likely look the other way for crimes and murder, as well is sometimes bring extra food rations or let him off doing something like displaying his powers. This tends to only happen with bribes, so the extorting of other prisoners is common among the faction.
The Prince: A specially chosen member who is entirely trusted and is given full reign over the faction, with some limitations. They are generally well renowned and guards might just look the other way or do something they ask.
Sergeants: Those specially chosen by the King to command the lieutenants and the other peons.
Lieutenants: Those specially chosen by the Prince to serve as secondary commanding officers.
Legionaries: Those who have shown themselves more than capable in the line of combat, but also have more skills to show.
Soldiers: Those that have shown they are adept in combat and using their skills.
Regulars: Normal metas that have proven themselves worthy.

Regulars: Normal metas that have proven themselves worthy.
Selection:
All people, from metas to normals, are allowed into the faction. They only requirement is that the person must be able to fight, and have at least some understanding of meta powers, even if they don't have one of their own. If they know about the powers, they are allowed into the faction. To increase in the hierarchy a person must be able to control their abilities well and also be able to fight, or at least be able to hold their own in combat. To progress further than a Legionary a person, just have other skills to bring. Like trapping, hunting, cooking, espionage, negotiation, computer science etc.
The people without abilities are put into the rank Regular, but are generally used only for fodder or espionage that doesn't require abilities (*NOTE: no person without an ability has been recruited, this is just a though for possible use.)
The people without abilities are put into the rank Regular, but are generally used only for fodder or espionage that doesn't require abilities (*NOTE: no person without an ability has been recruited, this is just a though for possible use.)
Initiation:
To be accepted into the faction, first a person must complete the test of SOUL. during this, a meta must fight a group of 3 metas of Soldier level in SOUL. The meta must last for 3 minutes (with full access to their abilities) for 3 minutes without being killed or incapacitated. If they are still standing after 3 minutes they will be promoted to regular.
Size:
The faction currently consists of 217 metas from the facility. The age restriction is from ages 14-54. The abilities can vary from anything - from the most useful to the least, all metas are allowed in. At least, as long as they can survive.
Assets:
Bonuses consist of protection from other factions and metas, as well as respect from said metas due to their position in SOUL (even if it's just Regular). They also tend to receive slightly better quality meals (so the food is edible) and they can also get away with certain crimes like beating up another prisoner of stealing from another's cell. They also tend not to be challenged except by the foolish, which means they have basic protection from injury.
In compensation for this, metas are supposed to be a type of policing unit by breaking up fights that are not in the arena when the guards turn a blind eye. They must also comply to Jackson's command and do different types of missions for "His Majesty's Meta Army".

Assets:
STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics)
Leader:
Jason Reed
Power:
Data Manipulation
Purpose:
To bring technology based metas together, in doing so giving them a sense of power and right to rule that they had lacked before as tech based abilities are rarely useful in the arena and thus written off by other prisoners.
Age:
STEM has been part of the Center almost since the beginning.
History:
While other metas such as MIR took to punching each others skulls in the tech users knew they had to be smarter. They banded together creating STEM in order to keep each other safe. Violence they were aware wasn't always the answer and while it was considered a necessary evil of the prison it was always a last resort. STEM prefers to invoke more subtle methods, which include blackmail, bribery and manipulation though everyone in the Center is aware that when the chips fall STEM is more than willing to back itself up with muscle.
Leadership:
Leadership is based solely on the functionality of the members abilities. The more useful the ability the higher they rise in the ranks. Passive tech users can only get so far. In order to truly become powerful in STEM you need to be able to manipulate at least one facade of technology.
Selection:
STEM only accepts members with technology based powers, computer control, mechanical control, electrokinesis, and similar. If you don't have a power related to the sciences you aren't eligible.
Initiation:
No actual initiation is necessary. Just proof that you have the type of ability you claim. This Faction is dangerous enough that they don't require a show of loyalty. If you betray them your fate is sealed.
Size:
Just short of 200.
Assets:
The higher ups in STEM have limited access to the Center's computer system. The Center is more than aware of this and is capable of shutting them out should it become a serious security risk but they let STEM have the illusion of control. This access extends to basic inmate records. One of the things that makes them so dangerous is that they can find out about you. Lab and personnel records are censored from them.
They are also powerful enough that the guards will look the other way as long as they are not taking out a hit. If death is the intended purpose of something they are doing the guards will only intervene if the target is considered a priority meta, meaning they have a valuable or rare skill that the Center needs.

MIR (Might Is Right
Leader:
Julius Abir
Power:
Explosive Combat - Physical combat is enhanced with explosives. Every time he should punch, kick, headbutt, or any other harmful attack that involves something of his body causes an explosion. The harder the strike, the bigger the explosion.
Purpose:
To seek out the strong, and weed out the weak.
Age:
The MIR has almost been with the Center since the very beginning. The violent ones, the ones that no one would miss were captured in high numbers at the start. However, even with the damping field suppressing their powers, they managed to fight each other the old fashion way with their fist and shivs.
The fights had gotten suppressed several times, but this only made the violent even more agitated! These are one of the reasons why there is even an Arena inside of the Center in the first place. So, they exerted their anger, frustrations, and mainly killing instincts on others that were strong. Though, it got boring after awhile. Fighting the same people over and over again, it got tedious! It was only until one of the more psychopathic prisoners got an idea. Why not fight others instead? Fight these newly formed 'Factions'? Fight other people in mass quantities. Start wars instead of fighting with ourselves! It didn't take long until the MIR was born out of the most violent prisoners, and as time flew by, the MIR was only getting larger and slowly getting stronger.

Start wars instead of fighting with ourselves! It didn't take long until the MIR was born out of the most violent prisoners, and as time flew by, the MIR was only getting larger and slowly getting stronger.
History:
The MIR have started a 'Faction Fight' with almost every other Faction inside of the Center! They are the mains sources of violence and abuse inside the prison, causing trouble for everyone that resided in the terrible place. The MIR don't exactly care for the tiny factions, sure they might be able to get a few good laugh for a few days, but it gets boring quite fast after they become broken.
So, the MIR love to fight the larger factions, they love to start battles with other people, and they especially love winning those battles. They have never been officially beaten, if they are ever on the ropes against another Faction which had happened a few times in the early stages of the MIR, they merely called it a tactical retreat to regroup and fight again! Though, nowadays, the MIR barely have any rivals anymore, only the biggest and strongest could challenge them, but no one has. However, they would be happy to start another Faction Fight, it will only be time until they break another one of their 'truces' just for the kicks... And punches.

Leadership:
Might is Right. Whoever is the strongest gets to be the leader. It doesn't matter how smart you are, and it doesn't even matter if you have any leadership qualities! All that matters is that you are strong, it is an ever evolving system that weeds out the weak, and praises the strong.
Currently, Julius is at the top, and the higher ups are the strongest, and the lower ranks are the weakest. There are no set ranks, everyone in the MIR know their place inside of the ever changing food web. Though, the weak can still challenge the strongest for leadership positions, but in most cases they will be beaten to an inch of their life or worse.
Basically, the only way to climb the ranks and be respected inside of the MIR is to battle your way to the very top, inch by inch, and beat the leader to gain dominance over the entire MIR and fear of the Center.

Selection:
Anyone who is strong is allowed inside of the MIR, that is basically it. They don't care who you were or who you are, all they care about is if you are strong enough to be called MIR material.
Initiation:
You have to punch some stuff. Inside of the Arena, initiates have to usually punch a wall... That's it. You can use your power to make the punch, but your fist has to make a clear imprint or hole inside of the concrete wall. So, if your fist fits or goes through the wall, then you are accepted to test your mettle inside of the constantly evolving Faction. See if you get spat out in a few days, or embrace the saying to the fullest extent.
Size:
It's one of the largest factions in the Center. No one knows the exact measurement, but you can assume it is around 300-400 metas. Powers are all over the place, but they are mainly centered around physical enhancing powers or destructive powers, and as long as you can take several punches and kicks around the body without crying than you are old enough to be inside the MIR.
Assets:
If a fight happens between an MIR and any other faction or random meta then they will join the fight. Not for protection, but for a proper fight. They also usually have the best times and places for activists, tables, food, and etc. The aggressive behavior of the MIR usually scare or deter anyone from interacting with them. Also, they take and do favors for the guards, usually they ask one of the higher ranks to teach someone a lesson, and that is how the MIR get most of their boons.

Purpose:
The Cross is to dish out punishment to those who have committed sins against the church and to punish those who threw Sam in prison. They also assist boys and men in trouble and try to help them with their issues in a non-controlling way. They are traditionalist and hate progressives viewing them as mind controlling devils. Their leader isn't as extreme, but he isn't against those going beyond what is necessary to hurt their enemies.
Age:
Three Years
History:
Sam started this faction with a prison friend of his who was also a catholic metahuman and they agreed that by getting as many superhumans to embrace God's calling they could get out and change this sinful world for the better. It was difficult at first, but Sam was determined with his goals and very slowly they started to get more members. As it is now, they have a good number and if they got free of the prison then they will try to get normal people as well as metahumans to their call.

Swear loyalty to God and to the Cross and prove yourself on a mission for the order.
Size:
The Cross is almost fifty members strong.
Assets:
Muscle, teamwork and a moral compass is what this faction offers most. They also are not greedy and will share in resources with others if they are fine with them. Healing is also a service that they give to others they find worthy of their gifts.

Leadership:
For now, just John (Anarchy, to intimidate others). Eventually he'll have Lieutenants that will have their own troops, just like his rebels.
Selection:
We only accept those who are willing to risk themselves to stand up for others. We can train them afterwords, but it's much harder to teach people to stand up for others than to teach them to fight.
Initiation:
We send you to take on someone who's been attacking weaklings. Win or lose doesn't matter (though you don't know that going in). All that matters is that you are willing to stand up for the person they were attacking. Usually we simply find someone who's being attacked and send you in to defend them. Please note that ability links are meant to give people not as well versed in certain superpowers an overview of exactly what that ability can do. Because the Super Wiki covers most media to ever employ that power limitations and applications may vary between the RP and the Wiki. I will create a compendium of abilities according to our universe at a later date.
