Clang The sound of metal falling startled the Half-Fae as he crept along, he lowered himself to the ground even more, focusing his eyes on the tavern door as he slunk past the guards. He felt his heart race, he hated hearing it in his ears. He looked to the sky as it shone down on the small town, whispers of some people looking for the very man who caused him so much discomfort in his life were too good for him to pass up.
He needed to know.
He needed to find him.
The door creaked open with ease, something that Chance never really got the use of, being a thief lead to heavy barred doors and swiftly opened locks. Doors that were already unlocked usually meant a trap, even if they were that of an inn or a tavern.
Chance stepped in, lifting his body posture up to make himself look a little less suspicious. He scanned the nearly dead area, noticing the man, the wolf man and the pile of papers, his eyebrows raised as his interest was piqued.
He stepped in quickly, closing the door softly after him, out of habit rather than a courtesy. He made his way to the bar and sat on the other side of the Man. The bartender came quickly, hesitating before stopping to talk to him.
"What can I get you kid? And don't think about asking for Ale or Mead, I don't need those guards back here again." His voice was low, Chance looked him deep in the eyes in anger and hatred.
"Even if I wanted those I don't drink." He said, moving to slide over a bit of paper. The bartender took it and looked at it, sliding it back before he left to grab something out back, his face becoming visibly more pale.
Nessa was awake in her room, her eyes closed as she leaned against the windowsill, the sunlight shining on her face for most of the morning. Her freckles shone like small stars against her skin, she only moved when she registered a small crash from behind her.
She whipped around to see her furry companion half out of a box on the floor.
"Ra!" She hissed, moving to lift the small creature up off the ground and out of the box. The creature's puppy-like snout moved to look towards her, his deep yellow eyes glistening. "Get out of boxes you idiot." She said to him, getting a grumble from the small beast as she tucked him under her arm, grabbing her bag slowly.
"Come on, we have a busy day." She said to him, moving to fix her clothes before swinging her sidebag over her shoulder, her wings flexing slowly. "We need to find this guy. Surely he shouldn't be too hard to find right?" She looked to Ra, who only gave a huff and wriggled out of her grip, landing on all fours as he followed beside her legs.
She was still talking to him as she paced down the steps of the Tavern into the Bar, not paying attention to the men that were there, "Not a lot of people end up with that sort of Heterochromia." Ra gave a huff in response before he looked up.
He froze, his fur fluffing up at the sight of Haki as he moved to climb up Nessa to hide on her shoulders.
"Ow ow ow!" She grumbled, moving to ask Ra what was up before she saw Haki and Adrian, as well as the strange bat-boy on the other side. "Oh." The Star-Born said before she smiled softly. She moved to sit a couple seats down from Haki, close enough for them to hear her words, but she didn't want to invade their personal space.
She pulled out a small paper map, parts of it were ripped and torn. There were points plotted out in what looked to be rather recent ink, with a few small pawprints accidentally on the sides. "We can rule out him being here Ra." She said, her voice just above a whisper. "I asked the guards and no one matched the Scar or the eye colour."
