In other news, Republicans in Oregon have laid siege to the state capital, shutting down the democratic process. They have the support of right-wing militia groups who have shot at police before.

I've been on and off this website for six years now. Right now I've only barely got time for one RP, and even then I mess that up. Trying to be more consistent and online more often, because I really do enjoy online roleplaying. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to write as much as I used too. Until then, I shall brood gloomily in the shadows.
Life goes on! Hobbies change and so do schedules. I hate ghosts, so I'm trying to put myself to rest as best I can with a status and bio officially marking my departure. If I'm going to do any writing, it's going to be working on that book I always wanted to finish.
Maverick's heart dropped into her stomach when the explosion went off. She hesitated for a moment, and covered up her ears when Phone Freak summoned that awful behemoth. Her eyes widened, and her adrenaline started rushing. She unzipped her hoodie and reaches for an inner pocket. She grabbed the handle of a pistol, and pulled it out. She pulled back the slide to confirm that it was loaded. When she reached for something else inside her hoodie, this time it was a small cylindrical device. She kept it in her right hand. Luckily enough, Phone Freak's monster didn't instantly murder the police officer.
"Everybody stay cool!" She shouted over the chaos. This was directed towards the more aggressive members of their team. Specifically Blood Fang.
"Don't fucking kill everyone," She said hoarsely, looking over with wide eyes at Loud Love, Metallica, and Blood Fang. There was pleading in her voice. She walked over to a nearby civilian who was frozen in place. Focusing, Maverick's hand tingled. With a small shove, she sent the man skidding across the well polished floors and he ended up sitting against a far wall.
"Down!" She gestured to the ground with her pistol. The man nodded and the other civvies got down as well.
She looked to her team to see what they should do with these innocent bank-goers.
so the Presence has contacts with muslim extremists??? why would they suicide bomb from the Presence? that's stupid and unnecessary. it could have easily just have been "an explosion".
*Appearance: Bojana Novakovic above (I rewatched that bad movie Devil recently)
Maja wears a dark blue suit jacket with a white tank-top underneath, as well as blue striped suit pants and pump shoes. She only wears the scarf at night. In the day, she dons a pair of sunglasses. Her hair is a natural blond, but she had it dyed brown.
*Physical Abilities/Skills: Besides being in a healthy physical condition, Maja has taken basic martial arts training. Her real skills however, come in the form of various acts of stealth, infiltration, and digital manipulation. She has a variety of different voices and accents she uses to disguise her true voice. She has a variety of different alias's and false identities.
When assassinating someone, she prefers to go about it by getting close to them. For example, if a target is staying in a hotel, she will disguise as house-keeping. In a way, has a skeleton key into most public places, at least for a short time. Finding contacts in new places is also a talent she's picked up.
*Personality: Maja is cold and calculating. She can put on the facade of being cheerful and optimistic, naive, or stern, educated, witty, flirtatious. Whatever it takes to get where she needs to be, she can most likely pull it off, but underneath it all is a woman with almost sociopathic leanings. Ending another human life never harmed her conscience, it was just how she was born. Tying up loose ends or eliminating witnesses is not an issue, but she has learned there is a lot of merit in sparing someone's life if the moment is opportune. Killing someone just because she can get away with it is something she has no wish to do.
*Background: Maja almost had an idyllic childhood in her small town in Sweden. Her parents fought occasionally, like all do. She had a selection of tight-knit friends, like most do. Made good grades, and ended up with a bachelor's degree in computer science. She had a boyfriend, and he was nice enough. She could have settled down, gotten married, had a few kids, and died "happy". But she wouldn't have been happy. She always felt hollow on the inside; like living a normal life just wasn't right. At the age of eighteen, she vanished. Maja Nilsson no longer existed. The missing signs went up, her family grieved, and life moved on.
She had learned English during her educational career and could mimmick an American accent spot on. So she ended up in the criminal underground. She got a silence pistol, earned a name for herself. She was one of the best, though she didn't really realize it. The fame never really mattered. She did her job because it was the only thing she could.
She was contacted by a group of paid gunmen, known as K9. They promised her more jobs, more cash, and more challenge. She went for it, why not? After a while doing work for them, the group moved to Sin City. It'd prove to be her last trip.
EDIT: I'm guessing since i was already accepted in the PM I can move my character over?
*Name: Maja Nilsson
*Alias: Borrealis
*Age: 31
*Height: 5'10
*Weight: 143 Lbs

If K9: She was contacted by a group of paid gunmen, known as K9. They promised her more jobs, more cash, and more challenge. She went for it, why not? They called her to Las Vegas. It'd prove to be her last trip.
If not K9: A contact sent her a notice. There was a big price on a group of paid professionals known as K9. It'd been sent out towards a few other people, but apparently some already had a grudge with the group. The contact said it'd be tough, even recommended to her (in a rare case of humanity) not to take it because it wasn't worth it. Maja thank him for his concern, packed her bags, and took a bus to Sin City.
As Phone Freak and Dianna recounted past experiences with super heroes- Mail Order Hero sounded like someone she'd like to meet- someone by the name of Maria introduced herself. Like everyone else here, she always was being kept in the dark. Maverick raised two straight fingers to her forehead and gave a salute. "Maverick." Was all she said. She placed her hands in her pockets and kept walking forward. Downtown was getting closer into view.
She'd be lying to herself if she said there weren't a storm of butterflies in her chest. This was nerve-wracking. Calming down was a top priority, but until then she would keep her tough facade on and hide her trembling hands in her hoodie. Still, Maverick's voice had managed to stay steady so far. Showing weakness would probably not be preferable in a time like this.
A lot of people were interested but it looks like only me and one other person made a CS XD I'll put mine up tomorrow, and if I end up in K9, oh well. Nothin' wrong with it, I suppose. edit: nvm
