Sorry if i sound a little impatient I am not just curious ^^
Are we going to find out what we need to work on for our character sheets/get reviewed soon? Or is that going to be happening in a bit?
I could probably edit quite a few things or even rewrite them to try and make stronger sheets and characters but its always nice to hear where the GMs stand on things~
(I probably will start editing my sheets regardless as I am a bit unsatisfied with what I did. Especially with all the newer sheets being posted up. I really should have taken my time but I got excited and rushed them in a morning...)
Appearance: A man of a respectable height, Walt finds himself standing at 6'2 with an impressively muscular physique, living up to his alleged family name. He is a rather rough looking fellow, with long, thick, course black hair that has a slight tint of grey to it. He is capable of growing a full beard although seems to always shave it once it gets past the stage it could be considered a stubble. Walt's face is home to it's fair share of scars, from his nose to his cheeks and to the most noticeable on his left eye. Or rather where his left eye once was. His is a face that has seen many fights, big and small in the Disputed Lands. Something that is understood when one is caught by his harsh glare with his remaining sharp grey eye.
Walt has been in the Disputed Lands for too long to not carry about a blade on his hip wherever he goes. He has learned all to well that around sell-swords a fight could break out at any moment.
Personality: Walt is rather notorious for being a rather prickly and flinty individual. A harsh, stern and unforgiving man who has grown to be quite a humourless and cold person. His father was not particularly good at keeping his coin, which in turn has resulted in Walt himself being rather tight fisted when it comes to money. Keeping good hold of any payments that he winds up getting.
Now Walt isn't a complete stick in the mud like some might say. He does have a rather blunt, dead pan sense of humour about him but he does treat his fellow man with respect and can even be considered good company once he has warmed up to a person. He isn't a harsh person on purpose, it's just one must always be careful in his line of work.
History: Walton Strong was born in the mercenary camp of the Golden Company, to his father Lucas Strong and his mother Lanna Strong. His family had been long term members of the Golden Company, claiming lineage from House Strong of Harrenhal before they were exiled by the Targaryens. From there they found themselves in the camp of the Blackfyres, hoping that one day that they may return home and reclaim what they believed to be theirs. At least that is how it had been for the generations before Walton. But the Blackfyres were gone now, Maelys the Monstrous had been the last of the Black Dragon and he had failed to fulfil the dream of the Golden Company just like the rest of his line. 'Beneath the Gold the Bittersteel' were the words of the Golden Company. Well Bittersteel was questionable but the company certainly was full of bitter and defeated men.
But still the men of the Golden Company dreamt on, one day they would return home, they believed that with all their hearts despite half of them never even seeing that home that they dreamt for so dearly. Walt was of a different mind, the cause was over with. There would be no future for him in the Company. What could he amount to? Become a Lieutenant just to try and fight the Iron Throne once more? To be humiliated and squashed as they had been all the times before? No, he would have his own dream. To carve out his own future with his own arms. He would make his own place in these lands as a sellsword, but not with this Company.
For most of his life Walt has found himself going from company to company, earning as much coin as he could get his hands on and taking part in any conflict that he could find. From the Second Sons to the Windblown, from the Bright Banners to the Wolf Pack. Mayhaps he had delusions of grandeur to begin with but he had certainly believed that by the time he reached the age he was now he would have been a rich man... Well that is not always how things work out. Even now Walt lives from payment to payment, although he has garnered a fair amount of respect and experience due to his efforts throughout his career. Whether the conflict is a victory or a defeat for him. Walt is a man who fights valiantly and fights well as long as he gets his pay. But like many sellswords, Walt is not so eager to give up his life over a contract.
And that is when Walt heard the news of a new company forming itself in the Disputed Lands. The Meereenese Knot it styled itself. Well it was a rather embarrassing name but it was one that was making the rounds. Furthermore the pay was said to be particularly good. That was more than enough for Walt to set aside his pride and sign up for the Company. If it came to a bit more coin then well, Walt would just have to do what he needed to in order to get that. The Company was definitely well funded but on the other hand... Leadership was not particularly outstanding and it would not surprise Walt if the Company was to collapse after a few failed battles. Well just like before, as long as he got payed and got away from the whole thing with his life. He would just move onto his next venture if that came to pass.
Skills: Horsemanship: Walt has developed a rather respectable riding ability over the years. Now he isn't an outstanding rider but he has enough skill to be considered 'above average'.
Swordmanship: His weapon of choice is a bastard sword and once again he could be considered above average with it, although it should be noted he is past his best years his age isn't too much of a factor when it comes to his strength and skill.
Archery: Little more can be said about this other than Walt is mediocre at best. He can hit a target... Sometimes.
Reading: Now this might not be a particularly noteworthy ability among nobles and merchants. But for sellswords, well, this is definitely among the rarer skills. Walt can be thankful for the education his parents provided him with.
Experience: Not particularly a 'skill' so to say but the accumulated years that Walt has been a sellsword has definitely paid off in some regards. He has a good mind for coin and the price of things, something one needs to know if a deal is a good one or a bad one. He has picked up on some tactics and strategy from a commanders perspective as well as experienced combat against a variety of fighting disciplines from all over the known world. He believes that he has a good nose for liars and a good eye for a lost cause when he sees one. Walt is rather proud of his instinct at this point but well... If it was right all the time he certainly would be a lot richer by now. And still have two eyes at that...

Ink's got me out here answering questions just so everyone knows I exist, apparently.
<Snipped quote by Stormborn>
Nobody's stated interest in House Dayne so far, so they'd be more than welcome.
Typically playing multiple points of view from within the same house is expected, so no problems there. Lord, member who joined the Queensguard, random bastard hanging out in Starfall. You name it.
Ah. Nice!
I should probably ask if female knights are possible or even a female sword of the morning? I know that it's still Westeros and so it would still probably be a stretch but with Dorne being pretty progressive on its own and Daenerys as Queen could that maybe be possible?
<Snipped quote by Stormborn> Well, we're pretty close to starting the first event at Gulltown -- but there will be others, too, of course. Lots of opportunities. The more new blood we get the better. Very competitive market ASOIAF roleplays are right now. If you have any questions do let me know; I understand a lot of info is VAGUE because I haven't written it out perfectly yet.
I suppose I should first ask if a House is available. Would House Dayne of Starfall be playable? As descendants through Edric Dayne I would imagine.
Also if I was playing a House would I be able to play multiple characters in the House or would it be just one? For example maybe the Lord of the House and a member of the family who joined the Queensguard.
Name: Rhaenyra Targaryen Age: 14 House/Affilitation: House Targaryen
Rhaenyra has inherited her families Valyrian looks, described as a beautiful child and declared by some to be 'the most beautiful maid in all of the Seven Kingdoms.' She is known for wearing her hair in a long braid in the same manner that Aegon The Conquerers wife, Visenya Targaryen had. Rhaenyra has always dressed befitting of her status, favouring purple and maroon velvet's as well as golden Myrish lace with intricate patterns for her dresses. Her bodice always seems to be glittering with different pearls, diamonds or other gems and she always likes to wear rings on her fingers.
Biography: Born in 97AC, Rhaenyra Targaryen is the only living child of King Viserys I Targaryen and her late mother Queen Aemma Arryn. If the gods had been kinder then Rhaenyra may have had two younger brothers, however the mother above saw it fit to take them for herself while they were still in the cradle.
Rhaenyra was 6 years old when her father became King of Westeros and from his coronation she was seen with her father practically wherever he went. If it was feasts, balls or tourneys then the young princess would always be found close to her father's side, eventually the King even named his daughter the royal cup bearer and through her appearances with her father the young Rhaenyra was dubbed as 'The Realms Delight.'
However Rhaenyra was not just a shy or quiet young girl who could not survive beyond her father's presence. She was the blood of the dragon, her temperament reflected that through her pride and stubbornness. At the age of 7 she had convinced herself that she would ride a dragon. And so she did. Young Rhaenyra chose a young dragon to take flight into the skies above, a dragon that she would name 'Syrax'. After a goddess of Old Valyria. Syrax may have been young, however she was a large and formidable beast who prior to Rhaenyra had no previous rider. She is known for her yellow scales and fierce appetite.
Rhaenyra was both charming and daring, as well as sulky and wrathful. Perhaps this is why she had found herself being captivated by her uncle, Daemon Targaryen. Her uncle would often bring her exotic gifts from across the Narrow Sea and was known to often keep her company. Another man who had caught her eye from an early age was Ser Criston Cole, who had defeated her uncle Daemon at both the melee and the jousts in the tourney celebrating her fathers ascension to the crown. When Ser Criston joined the kingsguard the young Rhaenyra had become even more smitten with him, calling him her 'White Knight' and requesting that Ser Criston should be her own personal guard, which her father allowed. Since then Ser Criston has always accompanied Rhaenyra to public events as her personal protector and always carries her favour whenever he enters the lists of a tourney.
Following the death of her mother, Queen Aemma Arryn, King Viserys named his daughter Rhaenyra his heir and Princess of Dragonstone. He had all the lords of the seven kingdoms swear fealty to her and promise to honour and defend her rights as his successor.
However only a year after he mothers death, King Viserys remarried. Initially Rhaenyra got along fine with her new stepmother, the Queen Alicent Hightower, however things soon changed once Alicent had given birth to two sons, Aegon and Aemond Targaryen. King Viserys did not proclaim either of these sons his heir however, that still belonged to Rhaenyra. For now...
That did not do much to stop some of the Lords of the realm to continue questioning King Viserys on the matters of succession, the Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower being one of the main members of court who pressed the issue. Even after Ser Otto was dismissed as hand it had already become clear that two factions had formed within the court. One supporting Rhaenyra and the other supporting Queen Alicent and her sons.
Due to the ruling of the Great Council at Harrenhal in 101AC, many lords of the realm believed that the males of the Targaryen family should take precedent over the females. Meaning that a female heir should be passed over for a male heir as the paternal line was argued to be more favourable than the maternal in the eyes of the realm. This along with the faction supporting Queen Alicent means that Rhaenyras position as heir is greatly threatened. Rhaenyra however is far to proud and far to spirited to simply set by and let the Queen and her men have their way. She means to remain as heir to the Iron Throne and will do anything that is in her power to make sure that comes to pass. She will not allow herself to be passed-over as her aunt Rhaenys had.
