Most battle rifles are just harder for the average person to control because of the larger cartridge. Some are relegated to semi-auto but those are usually purpose built platforms such as a marksman rifle.
<Snipped quote by Rain>

Rock-skin is basically the bane of all firearms, depending on its thickness, so you're basically shit out of luck regardless. However, I do know that a lot of assault rifles incorporate under-barrel grenade launchers, that would be a must for one inclusive weapon.

Not necessarily. Again depending on the thickness a battle rifle (Large caliber select fire weapon) can eat away at it something fierce. Ammunition is a large factor into the effectiveness. Velocities, weights, distances. Lots can be factored in.

Well, versatility with firearms is a bit of a subjective thing. An "assault rifle" would be an intermediate cartridge select fire weapon. You got it mostly right but with the idea of superhuman opponents there are a number of variables that may need to be addressed as for the effectiveness of any individual weapon you choose to employ. Say you have an individual that has some sort of "Rock-like" skin. A 5.56x45mm assault rifle would be of limited use seeing as it's a high velocity small caliber projectile. Unless you used a sort of specialized ammunition, say, the US M995 "Black Tip" tungsten core ammunition.

A revolver has more than just a muzzle blast. The gap between the cylinder and the barrel has a high pressure blast of its own. This blast has more energy then a normal weapon muzzle blast and is capable of causing serious harm when exposed to. More so with a powerful cartridge like the .44 Magnum. Even a .38 special has the potential to be harmful with the cylinder gap blast.

@Doc Doctor
I am here to impose. @___@ That .44 would have injured him if he shot it so close to his body. >.>
@ClocktowerEchos well then get in your TARDIS and give yourself more time. XD

Be sure to praise the Immortal Emperor so that you're safely guided through the Warp.

I think you're going to be either prying nails off, removing flesh of fingers to bone, or bamboo/wooden splinters under the nails of these suspected terrorist.
Drives me up the wall when someone sets up a roleplay to be their own personal fanfiction. Posts are written with numerous characters going on about the importance of their main character, how integral they are to every little thing. It just feels like masturbation in written form. Self-satisfying and nothing more.

Damn. People actually do this?
