Meryl gazed at the dazzling night sky above him, lying down snugly on the cloth mat that he used as a mobile bed. The weather was perfect, with a cool breeze tempering a lightly humid and warm day. The tapestry of lights above Meryl was an astoundingly wonderful sight, a canvas of brilliance that Meryle didn't quite pay attention to. He was not one given to the arts or for visceral rumination, and he thought the romantic was inane. But perhaps that was mere denial, as Meryl was reminiscing his past. When he first met the man who would utterly transform his life, Meryl was unconvinced. He was still an impoverished boy with nothing to claim his own, passing himself around for easy jobs to earn pittances to sustain himself. To Meryl, the man before him was the paragon of inaction. Meryl had been conditioned to utilize a hundred and ten percent of his wits all his life to make the bare minimum accomplishment of proudly holding onto life, and seeing such a vagrant and lackadaisical man irked him. The man before him was Meryl's antithesis in life ethics. At first, Meryl had agreed to work with the man due to the respectable pay. The details of the job were explained in vague terms, and Meryl did not pry as his experience understood that when men did not desire to be straightforward, they had good reason. Of course, the man that Meryl now worked under did not reveal the details of the job with clarity not because of some shady connection or identity, but because of a forgetfulness and lack of effort.

The man that stood at a towering 210 centimeters and weighing a solid 90 kilograms was anything but the image of a talented magnis user. He was clad in cheap and practical clothes tattered and worn by the elements and overuse. His heavyset square face cultivated a wild and untamed beard that made him appear to be a savage, while his small and squinting black eyes accentuated an aura of stupidity. His tone was rough and simple, hewn from his early life as a trapper and hunter. As a human, he was also regarded with a slight mistrust and suspicion. Everything about him repulsed Meryl. This was the very image of man that Meryl sought not to be. Meryl at that time dreamed of becoming a renowned and respected member of light elf society, perhaps a palace mage or some wealthy beneficiary. He was enamored with the formality of upper class existence and strove towards it.

Everything was all so distant, but so clear in Meryl's mind. It felt like it was only yesterday when the man had placed his hand on Meryl's back to assess his capacity for magnis and uttered a choice expletive to mark his wonder at Meryl's talent, an event that had given Meryl his main hope for his future. All those countless hours spent in untamed forests around a fading campfire learning about the history of the Arcana and the ways to perform the spells hidden within its millennium of existence. The dozens of times the man saved Meryl's life due to some foolishness that Meryl had dared. The day when Meryl buried the man in an unmarked grave in an unknown wilderness and took up the Arcana to continue its legacy.

A life of twists and turns yes, but one that Meryl thoroughly enjoyed. What was life without enjoying it? It was so long ago that Meryl sought to become nobility, something greater than his fellow peoples. Yet now he knew from that man who had imparted the greatest lessons of life to Meryl that there was no pride in being above one's fellow kind. True pride can only be accomplished by surpassing one's past self. When one can confidently declare that he has improved for the better, that is when one is worthy of sincere adulation. Everything was all to ironic now that Meryl ruminated over his past. He had dreamed of grandeur, but now he was simply content to be a wandering vagrant just as that man had been. It was still a life of difficulties no doubt, one that fully required Meryl's superb talent for trickery and deceit, but still one that heralded personal satisfaction. It seemed as if nothing would break the smooth flow of Meryl's life now, his path of wandering and learning the tricks of the Arcana. He would experience and understand, imbibe and absorb knowledge, age and innovation, and pass down his legacy as so many before him had done. Something about that did sting Meryl. That he was to live out an existence so unknown and so unseen naturally swayed Meryl, but he understood that unless the stars themselves fell, he would remain best content in his current path.

And a star did fall. Meryl observed in wonder as the glimmer of light in the night sky grew in size, and then the thought hit him. That this was not a star. That this was a rapidly approaching object of significant size that would likely cause massive damage. Merly hummed calmly, as if contemplating a philosophically profound issue,
"Hmmm.... well shit."
He immediately stood up, grasped the Arcana, and hastily rolled up his mat and shoved it in his satchel which he slung over his shoulder before sprinting away from the approaching flare of radiance. He kept running without exhausting himself at surprising speeds, the result of having to adapt to being on the retreating side of fights due to not having anything to fight with for the most part. After twenty seconds or so, Meryl heard the resounding crash of impact and tremors pulsed through the earth, forcing Meryl to halt to keep his balance. Convinced that he was now safe, Meryl gazed back to where he previously had been and saw a profuse amount of smoke emanating from a deep and raw crater. Thankfully, Meryl had not been asleep.

He was curious though, and he began to saunter towards the crater with swift and silent steps. Once he was in within thirty meters of the crater, he pointed the Arcana down at the grassy ground and chanted,
"View"
The arcana projected a holographic view of what was around the crater area, and Meryl at first believed he was hallucinating. One male figure surrounded by charred earth with a heavily injured female figure. After rubbing his eyes a few times, Meryl ascertained that indeed this ridiculous spectacle was real and began to plan his next movements. He had absolutely no clue as to how one could fall from the sky, which removed many conduits by which he could guess the nature of these people. The only real motivator that influneced Meryl was the woman's heavily damaged condition, which obviously required medical attention. But then what could Meryl do? He had zero knowledge of real healing spells, even though the Arcana probably held the most powerful ones in its stores of knowledge. He was tempted to simply keep stalking this interesting duo, and then appearing in later while putting up a clueless front so as to not appear that he did not lift a finger to help, but a moral compunction eventually won out against rational and cold action.

Shrugging his shoulders and sighing in cynical annoyance, Meryl strode towards the two figures. When he was direct sight of them, Meryl waved his right hand while pointing the Arcana downwards harmlessly with his left, not that the Arcana could really do any harm, but that was not knowledge these two needed to know.
"Hello there, wonderful evening no? Ah, sorry about that. My sardonic side must have bled through. Do you need any help?"

Meryl did not actively seek to help, and merely posed the question. If they were hostile and not quite intellectually acute, they would reject the offer or simply ignore it and follow up with hostile action, whereupon Meryl would perform his most accomplished skill of tactical retreat. Or rather, what he called tactical retreat that would be viewed as running away. Of course, if the man accepted the offer Meryl would come to his aid with his guard up, meaning that he would be ready to flee at moments notice. He did think about what to do when he got there to help, as he had no healing spells. All he had was medical knowledge he had gathered from living in harsh conditions and travelling, but perhaps that would be enough.
So can I post as a random adventurer mage that stumbles on people that fell from the sky or no interaction for GM chars yet?

Character Sheet:
Race: Light Elf
Name/Moniker: Meryl Elluv
Age: 21
Height: 187 cm
Weight: 76 Kg
Physical Description (Picture isn't mandatory but it would be nice!):

Magical Abilities:
Timeless Arcana
A magical staff passed down from one magic user to another. The staff in Meryl's hands is just over a thousand years old and has undergone dozens of repairs and restorations. It remains capable of existing so long through how it is preserved by magic from far back. The staff itself is composed of light willow wood but is blessed by an immortal effect and regeneration. The blessing of immortality causes the wooden staff to appear to be a metallic black shade instead. The staff's main and most significant ability is its ability to absorb memories and knowledge, with the additional power of being compatible with all types of magnis. Through a specialized ritual, Meryl can imprint his memories and knowledge within the staff to be accessed later on. However, the staff has restrictions on it that cause one to be unable to access knowledge too advanced to prevent misuse of spells or abuse of knowledge that one does not understand. Due to this, Meryl only knows a few minor utility based spells which he still uses to great effect. By flowing his energy into the staff and calling on a specific set of knowledge, Meryl can cast spells he has never used before that were made by those before him that have been imprinted onto the staff. It is a magical artifact that is priceless and extremely valuable if it was actually able to be reliably used. It forms a connection with its owner and only activates in the presence of the magnis of its owner and those the owner designates. Even then, it restricts so much of its knowledge that instead of becoming a wealth of powerful information, it is instead a wealth of minor and offensively ineffective spells.

SPELL LIST
Torchlight - Forms a glowing orb at the tip of the staff to use as a flashlight and guide
Reinforcement - Strengthens objects temporarily, increasing their durability. A wooden staff can become as hard as iron with this spell. The spell only lasts as long as the arcana is touching whatever it is reinforcing. Reinforcing living beings is not possible to Meryl as of now.
Magnetism - Causes a small area to become magnetic, drawing in metals.
Flash - A burst of light that blinds things in an area for a few seconds is emitted from the staff.
Adhede - The arcana becomes an highly adhesive object, causing things to stick to its surface upon touch.
Fix(Glass) - Fixes broken glass if it was shattered in a five minute time frame.
Illusion - Creates a realistic illusion unable to move or really affect the world, like a holograph.
Absorb - The staff draws out and absorbs liquids that Meryl specifies through touch.
Shock - A minor electric shock is carried out to a target in the form of a base ball sized sphere of cracking energy. Non lethal and doesn't do much other than seizing muscles and causing good pain.
Celerity - A blessing of speed that lets the blessed one run faster. Meryl is most adept at utilizing this spell, and has practiced and refined it to the point where he can use it without pausing to access the arcana's knowledge base.
Calculator - The arcana is a good calculator. Nifty tool.
View - The arcana can project a small screen on a flat surface to show whats happening in a certain area within a thirty meter radius, sort of like a crystal ball.
Acceleration Gate - Creates a transparent wall five meters wide and three meters tall that speeds up anything that passes through it by three times for two seconds at most.
Clamor - The arcana emits a screeching, awful sound that can harm the ears if one listens to it for long.
Muffle - Enforces deafness for a second on a designated target the form of a pellet of pink energy that travels at the speed of an arrow.
Snare - Creates a circular invisible trap on a surface a meter in diameter. If someone steps on it, their foot becomes stuck to the surface as if it was super glued to it.
Enhance - Enhances the effect of the next spell cast.

Quirks/Personality:
Meryl is a suave, analytic and opportunistic being who is best described as being adaptable. He holds a fine eye for human observation, and can discern and analyze the statuses of others with a remarkable empathy. He has a manipulative and sly nature to him, willing to abuse twists and turns to accomplish his goals. He is skilled at putting up false fronts to adapt to situations, allowing him to edge into most situations to eke out advantages and information. Meryle is pragmatic and calculating for the most part, but does hold a distinct morality that many would characterize as noble, even if Meryle himself is fain to admit it. Meryl is a naturally observant and perceptive individual, and works on the philosophy of "observe, not see". He does not casually let the world pass by him, and instead commits his attention to every detail with meticulous excess. Such fine detail mongering and intuitive observation allows Meryl to slink past most trouble, but it also causes him to appear rather insensitive. Regardless, Meryl exhibits an innate nobility of character that often gets him into conflict with the front he attempts to maintain. Of course, he is still ever the wily trickster and sly in every sense, but a dignified core hampers any real degeneration into artifice. Meryl observes an incorrigible apathy and lackadaisical method of living, taking things in stride and never really attempting to actively exert himself.
(Don't Luv me senpai)
Backstory:
Meryl was born in the society of light elves on the gutters. His family occupied the lowest rungs of the social order, and were known deceivers mistrusted by all. Meryl inherited their knack for trickery, but could not attune himself with their utter lack of ambition and vice and thus dissociated himself from them as soon as he could at the age of thirteen. After abandoning his home, he worked around in the ordered society of the elves as cheap help and labor, becoming temporary assistants to many people of many trades. From his times moving around and eking out a bare living, Meryl learned the ways of the world and became convinced more than ever that he would set himself to a path of greatness most apt to sate his ambition. Unlike the countless other young children that fortune does not favor, Meryl received a boon in the form of being chosen by a shabby looking magic user who desired an apprentice. The man was an adventurous human that lived like a freeloader, doing odd jobs with his magic and concerning himself with a vagrant life filled with both hardship and wonder. Meryl joined this man and continued the legacy of the arcana as a result.

Don't know if it works or not but here is the sheet.
LOL!

Oh man, I'm not as bad as some of the other Asians at my school. This girl is taking 6 AP classes right now and...what why would you do that to yourself. ;u;

Hehe I'm not a very good student as well. I blew off my first 2 years in highschool and now I'm trying to make up for it. But wow, math and foreign language classes are really hard. eue

Depends on the school you go to really. The AP classes at my school are a joke, which is why I take 7 and then 2 more online. The tests of course, are currently murdering me as I have to make up for the deficit of not having learned properly in school.
Well if theres any spots left I'd be willing to participate.
I'm doing it like this as to not split people up so early in the roleplay. I've had bad experiences when people's characters were all over the place and there was a lot of confusion and not much interaction. Going to class for a little bit will give people interaction.

As for the Servants, I'd expect that many of them are roaming around the school's vicinity, so there can be interaction between them as well.

What exactly don't you like about it, Flame? I was just wondering. ^^

If anyone else doesn't like the way I'm going about this, just say so~

I myself am not a fan of this school system because it doesn't fit well with the atmosphere of a battle to the death. In the VN during the Fate route Shirou just starts skipping school after a point because it isn't practical etc.
Location: ???

Hao looked out from a crimson stained glass window within the foreign room he was in. When his face looked out, the crimson color faded and the fractures in the glass melded to form a crystal clear view of the outside, almost as if the window had not been there. The window was hewn into the black mortar stone of the room, which was circular in shape. The room itself was vast, being over thirty meters long in diameter. The floor was made of the same depressing dark gray shade of mortar but was polished and smooth to form a pleasant walking surface, with some areas being covered by velvet carpets. The walls too were smooth and polished in the inside of the building, though on the outside they would still be pointed and rough rocks stick together in circular arrangement. Upon this wall was pinned a magnificent tapestry stretching almost half the room's circumference depicting a mystical winged man crowned in emerald having his heart skewered out by a knight clothed fully in radiant silver armor. In front of this tapestry stood an empty and solemn throne of what appeared to be emerald effusing a light green glow through the room. A round table majestically poised itself at the center of the room, but oddly there were but two seats of pure gold beside it to keep it company. Upon this table lay dishes of exquisite quality and culinary expertise, as well as fruits and meats of the utmost succulence.

The entire room had an aura of majesty and opulence, but yet Hao could not feel anything but loss. It was utterly silent and everything was untouched. Not even dust had dared to settle on anything, as if the room was frozen in time. Jewels embedded in the walls kept the temperature in the room stable and freshened the air. But this constancy unnerved Hao. Everything was too orderly, completely still and pristine.

The view outside was what grasped Hao's attention. For perhaps two or three miles, all Hao could see was a field of roses. Roses full of life and in full bloom, proudly puffing out their vibrant blood red shade. The roses were extremely numerous, packed in one huge clump that ran in a circular field all around the building Hao was in. They were so packed and numerous that they appeared to be a literal sea of roses. No soil could bee seen anywhere. Yet among these roses lay decaying corpses by the dozens. Corpses of winged men and women ethereal in quality, as well as carcasses of armored knights still armed. The roses grew over they bodies, entangling them and taking life from them for their own. It was all to surreal a view, but it captivated Hao with its beauty. Outside this field of roses was desolation. Rotting corpses of fauna and man in advanced stages of decomposition, attracting all the pests and scavengers of the world. Withered and dying trees formed a bony forest, empty and without life. A river of blood ran through the forest, singing its stream of death.

"Wonderful..."
was what all Hao could utter. The scene had an exceptional quality to it, as if Hao was viewing an alien world full of unknown wonder and beauty. The death, the life, the decay, the growth, all of it lent to a picturesque scene so surreal that Hao felt as if he was hallucinating.

"Wonderful yes. Do you know why? Because you do not see the harms of "higher" existence. Your taste is sublime. It is not the beauty of the roses nor the decay of corpses you find so captivating, but it is the emptiness. The solace engendered by nothingness."
A cold voice. It was at first impression, a friendly one with mild tone and clear enunciation that flowed like a steady stream, but a light rattle in the tone injected an unnerving impression. The voice belonged to what appeared to be a majestic knight, armored completely from head to toe in brilliant metals forged and shaped with peerless craftsmanship. A cape of sky blue fluttered by the knights side, heralding his kingly presence. The knight was tall, slightly more so than Hao, and had an agile and slender build. A bejewelled scabbard lay strapped his hip, revealing the hilt of an undoubtedly exceptional weapon. A weapon that had eradicated mystical beings beyond human comprehension with ease.

Hao nodded in agreement, still absorbed in the view. The sun shone brightly, illuminating the canvas of oddity perfectly. The knight began to speak once more, in a more formal tone than before,

"Outside the church in the graveyard there have been four intruders, thought you may already be aware. Two of which are servants. One observed vast magical capacity but did not show more than a small show of his ability. The other, as you know, held a different aura form the other servants. A significant power and capacity unknown to regular heroic spirits. Both can be dealt with, and do not pose such a threat that we must stray from our original intentions and plans as I am sure you are aware. The carrion devouring beast has more raw power than I possess, but fortunately in a test of tactical battle, I will surpass it regardless."

Hao took his gaze away from the window, and it assumed its crimson stained glass composition once more.
"It is as you say. Though I am surprised that you are so perceptive in such knowledge despite your original capabilities, your knowledge is excellent. Though in your wait I am sure you have learnt a vast amount, especially with your resources. You are currently both superb warrior and powerful magus. I do not think we should ponder about combat, considering your capabilities and mine. I myself have the capacity to defeat all other masters in this war with relative ease should I be pressured, but we are limited by the veil of secrecy. It is not that we lack the power, it is that we must have the perfect execution."

The knight stood silently before responding with a calm tone followed by an gesture of pointing behind him with outstretched left arm. The clank of his armor echoed through the room in a harsh tintinnabulation.
"You are right. It is unwise to stay here however. I merely wished to show you the vision of "the world". Stay within the bounds of the church, and I will seek to ascertaining the identities and capacities of the other servants and masters myself. And I will continue to work on the modifications you have asked of me. Go, priest."

Hao sauntered past the knight with a glimmer of agreement in his eyes. He continued walking and walking, and did not stop even when he was but an inch away from the wall. Hao simply walked through it, and saw only darkness. In the next instant, he found himself in the basement of the church once more. Hao smirked in anticipation of what was to follow.

This....actually proves my point. Besides Rin, who spent years storing up Prana to do this sort of thing...

Emiya = Hax magic in the form of near perfect replication of Noble Phantasms
Kuzuki = Special ability as a result from spending his life training in super secret assassin school. Also, getting buffed to like twelves times standard human by Medea
Bazett = Has Fragarach, which reverses the flow of time so it always kills the enemy before their most powerful strike. Though still a skilled mage otherwise.
Kirei = Incredible talented in a lot of areas, though not to the point of mastery, and has hax magic in the form of Command Seals

So, as I said. Generally, the Masters that have the best chance against Servants have some sort of overpowered magic, or special ability.

Your implying Heracles is the standard servant, which is just lol. Ilya even says there should only be one or two spirits above him. The fact that Rin only needs 2 or 3 jewels to kill Heracles shows that weaker servants suffer the same fate. Hell Heracles could block those A ranked ice spears since his STR is a retarded high A+, which is double the numerical value of an A ranked attack.

Medea and her reinforcement was never explicitly stated to buff stats, though it did give Kuzuki the capacity to interact with spiritual beings.

Bazett has age of Gods runes and beat Gilgamesh without fraga by tanking gate of babylon with resurrection runes btw.

Immediately available resources, Beast can always collect more, and they don't have to be human.

That strength becomes a crippling weakness, as well as divine beast capacity and evil Alignment.
