April sat cross-legged in the entertainment room of the Coast City Super Powered Prison, playing with colorful building blocks on the light blue carpet covered floor as other inmates did other things to keep themselves as busy as possible in this place, which was quite hard to do — but not for her. April could be considered a regular customer in the entertainment room. The room's name didn't really fit, it looked like Coast City's toted Super Powered Prison had taken a page out of Arkham Asylum's book because the room's atmosphere and features would only elate someone who hadn't yet reached the age of six, or in April's case, had a mental capacity comparable to that of a toddler's. But the crazy chick loved it more than anyone could ever love a room in a correctional imprisonment facility. She tilted her head to the side as she carefully added on another block, bringing the grand total of blocks used in this skyscraper-in-the-making to seven.
“How ya doing, freak?” Said an accented, sharp, and dark voice from behind. April responded only by swinging her hand in the air, pointing her index finger upwards in a signal meaning "One moment". She couldn't be distracted when she was in the process of building a masterpiece. She continued to ignore the vengeful woman, placing another block onto the stack of seven that were already up. Not interested in talking to others at the moment, wanting to be left to her blocks and her thoughts.
“They couldn’t fix my eye so they decided to remove it entirely,” the voice added, and that's what it took to get April interested. She turned around and flashed her iconic, creepy smile to the person who turned out to be Milana, an assassin she hadn't seen since her blunder of an attempt at breaking out.
About three days back, April had tried using the trained killer as a very dangerous distraction to the guards so she herself could escape — the crazy girl had given the plan little reasonable thought so it failed miserably. In short, she ended up slashing one of Milana's eyes out with a fork. But seeing her now had answered the question she had been wondering a bit for a while now, if she had actually killed the femme fatale or not.
Milana lifted the eyepatch that covered her left eye to reveal the dark abyss of the hole where her eye used to be. As she did so, April's grin got larger, thinking of the delicious pain that the permanent wound almost certainly caused her.
"That. Is. Adorable." She broke out into genuine laughter.
An angry and revenge-determined Milana bellowed a powerful roar and lunged for April, grabbing her by the neck with both of her powerful hands, squeezing tightly to choke her. April bashed her fists against the back of her assailant's head, kicking furiously into her abdomen in an attempt to break her death grip on her. Luckily, Milana was shocked by the electric collar around her own neck that sent a charge through her body, making her lose her grip. Thankfully the prison had decided to add an electric function to Milana's collar in hindsight of the aforementioned incident that happened a few days back, otherwise April might be dead. A dazed April fell to the ground after the beast released her, landing onto the building blocks, spraying them across the floor. "No!"
Guards rushed at April's attacker, and began beating her with batons, until she was weak enough to be dragged off, back to her cell. She found the guards' intervention surprising, usually they wouldn't care if she got thrashed around. Maybe they didn't want to deal with her death which was almost guaranteed if that assassin got those dangerous hands on her.
April paid no attention to the trained killer as she was dragged off, she was preoccupied with the sadness that stuck her in the heart. Her beautiful creation had been ruined, and needed to be restarted. She let out a sigh then took a block and began building again at a slow, peaceful pace. As she began to reconstruct her masterpiece she glanced out large glass windows at the left end of the room. The cafeteria was on the other side. Some girl seemed to be in a similar predicament to the one she was just in, the bully was about to beat down on her victim. "Meh," she shrugged to herself, there was definitely no point and no reward in trying to save a random woman... "But, there is a point in watching somebody get their ass kicked," she finished the thought aloud. She giggled and left her block tower incomplete as she dashed to the scene of an impending beat-down.
