In Depth Appearance

Casper stands relatively short, for a man at least, at 5'8. His less-than-average height is matched by his lithe body, for while he is certainly toned, he does not have particularly bulky muscles or anything that would indicate a dedication to physical activity and exercise. His skin is entirely youthful, looking soft to the touch and most of all, making him appear less than 18. He insists, however, that he is simply a 'late-springer' and will eventually look as manly as the best of them. Adding to his youthful appearance is the pale tone of his skin, with any attempt at getting a tan being met by strong sunburn.

His face lacks masculinity, again contributing to his 'baby boy' look, and is something he is often teased over. Perhaps the most memorable feature of his face is his dark brown eyes, which sparkle with warmth and create a generally friendly demeanor surrounding him. No matter how hard he tried, or how long he stared, it would be near-impossible for him to appear imposing or threatening in any way, a direct result of his baby-ish features, and naturally welcoming eyes.

Knitted jumpers, tucked-in shirts, corduroy trousers and slim-fit jeans are the norm for Casper, who rarely deviates from his fashion style. He is a particularly vain dresser, and has a great enthusiasm for planning outfits for his week. As such, every piece of clothing is valuable, with something as mundane as a dirt-stain on his trousers likely to become the most stressful event of his day.

Personality

Casper is an appeaser, first and foremost. A man of words, and compromise. He loathes getting into confrontations with others, no matter their view, and has a deeply-rooted desire to please everybody. Naturally, this has led to him becoming a rather large pushover and he rarely voices his own opinions with any great vigor or determination, being scared to incite further argument and discontent. Despite this, Casper is intrinsically 'good' and knows right from wrong, or at least he likes to think so, and this only further inspires his desire to please everybody around him.

When not trying to mediate a conflict or resolve some sort of drama, Casper is an amiable and cordial figure. Making friends is perhaps one of his favourite 'past-times', if it could be called that. Yet this resolve to make friends and see the best in those around him is also one of his most glaring flaws. Casper is very slow to realise the 'true' personality of those around him, and takes almost everything at face value. Yet even when he has been slighted, he is quick to forgive and forget, in the hopes that further grievances can be avoided. Ultimately, this makes him perhaps one of the most vulnerable and easily-manipulated figures at Camp Liberty, with his kindness and foolhardy wish to get along with everybody leaving him blind to those who would use him.

To those Casper would consider to be his 'enemies', he adopts a passive stance. Whether a result of his cowardly nature and inclination to avoid confrontations, or simply a lack of willpower, he will never go out of his way to cause physical trouble. Certainly, this has been interpreted some as evidence of his nature as a pushover, though Casper maintains that he simply tries to remain above such childish behaviour. Quite the contrary, however, Casper will hold a grudge similar to that of a four-year old against those he dislikes. Indeed, friends of Casper will know who these individuals are, as he will not refrain from gossiping about them behind their back. When push comes to shove, though, Casper will always back down in the face of a physical fight.

After his rather tremendous failure as a Team Leader, Casper has become increasingly pessimistic and reserved, keeping to himself where possible. Likely a combination of embarassment, a feeling of failure and shame, he has become especially closed-off to other Team Blue members, preferring to spend his time around others outwith his own team. They are less likely to judge him, he believes.

Background

Born in the particularly affluent area of Hunting Valley, Casper has been babied for most, if not all, of his life. Being a 'mummy's boy', as opposed to his elder brother who was certainly the dominant child, Casper never demonstrated the traits typical of his family. His father, a high-flying business executive, expected his children to show decisiveness, a cold and calculating mindset, and most of all, a natural talent for leadership. While it was certainly the case that Casper's senior brother of two years, Elliot, was everything his father wanted, Casper could not have been more at odds with the expectations their father had for the two of them. Where his father sought immediate, firm action to resolve a conflict, Casper preferred sitting around a table, talking it out, and reaching a compromise that would benefit all involved. Indeed, purposefully acting against certain individuals to further your own standing or personal ambition seemed an almost alien concept to Casper, much to the annoyance of his father.

Casper was privately educated, alongside his brother, and was more-or-less forced to be a 'lesser version of his brother'. Attending the same clubs and sporting events, but never particularly feeling as though he belonged, and pursuing the same subject choices despite enjoying others were among but a few of the sacrifices he made in an attempt to impress his father and live up to his expectations, though his efforts were ultimately made in vain. Determined to sculpt Casper into the second son he so desperately desired, he sent him to Camp Liberty on his thirteenth birthday, with Elliot having also been sent two years prior when it was his own thirteenth.

It was fair to say that Casper enjoyed the initial summers spent at Camp Liberty. Being placed on the same team as his brother, who also happened to be the leader for Team Blue, Casper always knew that he had somebody at his back, and that even if he could not get his opinion across to others, he would always be able to rely on his brother to hear him out. It was this 'safety net' that allowed Casper to relax, not having to worry about the responsibility of settling disputes and keeping team members in line, instead being allowed to simply enjoy the experience of Camp Liberty (again, much to the chagrin of his father)

Two years ago, however, Elliot left the camp and Casper felt the pressure more than ever to volunteer himself as a replacement for his elder brother. Elliot had, after all, led Team Blue through several years of consecutive victories and Casper had finally resolved that now was his chance to 'discover himself' and live up to what was expected after him. Indeed, his father had an entire year to drill this very idea into his head before the next summer of camp. Upon returning to Camp Liberty last year, Casper put his name forward for the position of Team Leader, against several others. He was appointed Team Leader, and led his team to a near defeat and loss of their winning streak. His leadership was frought with indecisiveness, poor planning during the activities and an inability to control his own team members, with Richard King having undermined his authority and leadership throughout the duration of the camp. While it was the case that Team Blue did reign victorious at the end of the summer, it was widely recognised through the team that this was by-and-large a result of King's efforts toward the end of the summer to ensure Team Blue won the competition.

As the summer drew to a close and the winning team had been announced, Casper informed the camp councillors that he would like to stand down as the leader of Team Blue, recommending that King be his replacement in recognition for his efforts to keep their team at the top of the pile. Having witnessed the disastrous leadership of Casper along with every other camper, the councillors were more than happy to oblige, for both Casper's sake (he certainly hadn't been enjoying the summer, that much was clear) and that of the team. Needless to say, this was Casper's worst summer at Camp Liberty.

Aaron is a deeply conflicted man. Where he once stood for morality and justice, he finds himself torn in the situation he is now in. How can he preach ideals of integrity and honesty when he himself has betrayed those values through his association with the Montgomery family in his campaign to be Mayor? Indeed, he recognises that it is a direct result of his election to the post of Mayor that has allowed not only the Montgomery family, but the Davidon and Edmond families also, to reach new heights of influence and power, neither of which will be clawed back by the government without a fight. He was led to believe by August that the activities he would encourage law enforcement to turn a blind eye to would be largely innocent, and go unnoticed. For the first year, perhaps, this was true. There has, however, been a growing escalation of violence that has led to untold suffering, ever since the release of a new drug that has been spreading like a virus around the city. The Mayor's Office recieves letters daily from residents of Millbrook begging for the government to intervene, and for law enfrocement to protect them, as is their duty. Aaron, however, finds himself unable to fully commit to a campaign against crime and the three families, for in doing so he would surely destroy his reputation, and himself.

He is by no means a bad man, and as he sees it, he has been used by the Montgomery family. His naivety has led to his current circumstance, and he blames himself for having ever allowed the Montgomery family to begin their illicit acts without the full consequence of the law. He, however, believed that the implementation of the schemes and programmes he had thought up to economically aid the poor would outweigh this cost, and he has been proven very, very wrong. The schemes he has implemented have been merely washed aside by the violence, and those who were already suffering, are now suffering even more. How much longer he will be able to stand by remains to be seen.

His wife, perhaps, is the only person who knows the true extent of his inner conflict, and she is undoubtedly his strongest support. Without her, his collapse would be all but assured.

Born in the city of Millbrook to a family living comfortably in the middle class, Aaron was only a few years younger than the patriarch of the Montgomery family, August. Attending the same school, the two never quite interacted and only heard of one another in passing, with neither being aware of the close ties they would develop in the near-future that would alter not only their lives, but the course of Millbrook.

Certainly, he was never a man of great ambition, and had far more humble aims of working in social care or a related career, finding great satisfaction in aiding the needy. It is likely that his father, Cedric Flint, inspired this passion within Aaron, being a notable philanthropist himself around Millbrook. Cedric Lane was even named after him, a small nod toward his charitable efforts from the community of Millbrook.
No doubt inspired by the gratitude and respect held by Millbrook for his own father, Aaron felt it only natural to follow in his fathers footsteps as it were, in his own and admittedly small way.

Completing high school with average grades, he was offered a place at the local university for Millbrook after successfully applying. He had applied, and indeed been accepted, to universities beyond the city, though he found himself unable to leave Millbrook behind. Today, he often describes this longing to stay in Millbrook as his deep desire not to 'leave the job undone', though how greatly this is exaggerated for the press is anybody's guess. It was at university that Aaron came into contact with August Montgomery properly, with August being in his final year of university just as Aaron entered his first. August was assigned to Aaron as his 'mentor', what was in essence a university-run programme to better integrate the new arrivals into campus life. Aaron had heard of the Montgomery family, indeed if there's one thing that can be guaranteed among the people of Millbrook, it is that they are all aware of the three families. Montgomery, Davidson and Edmond.

The two never particularly developed a close relationship, something Aaron is keen to reinforce to any who inquire as to his relations with the Montgomery family, and indeed he is keen to dust any relations he once had with August under the carpet. Yet the two did in fact know one another, undeniably, and no matter how much Aaron tries to bury this stage in his history, it continues to taint his image for those willing to dig deep enough to this day. The truth, that Aaron himself will never admit, is that he admired August. His intellect, his dialogue, his ambition. He radiated the image of success, despite achieving relatively little in his youthful life so far, and it was August who first planted the seeds of political ambition in the mind of young Aaron. It is possible, and in fact likely, that August had planned the next ten years of his life to perfection, and Aaron was a part of that plan. For August knew that if the Montgomery family was to truly succeed, to gain the upper hand on the other families that look to bring them down, they needed the political establishment behind them. The only problem was, the establishment at this time was firmly against any and all activities considered to be 'organised crime', and would come down hard on any convicted of such. The solution then, to August at least, was simple. He needed to re-create the political environment of Millbrook, and he would acheive that through Aaron.

Throughout their brief year together at university, August would subtly ensure Aaron was aware of the wider problems in the city. He spoke of his admiration for Aaron's desire to help those at the bottom through social work, but told him the 'hard truth', as he often put it, that unless there was a man willing to take on the city itself and handle these problems from the top, there would be an endless cycle. An endless cycle of men, like Aaron, achieving in the end, nothing.

The idea stuck with Aaron long after August left university, and indeed the two had little to no contact after August left university. Yet after completing his course at university, and after two years of a career in social care, Aaron finally convinced himself that his mentor at university all of those years ago, was correct. He quit his job, and contacted August. Then, in almost a whirlwind of developments, August found himself as the Democratic nominee for the city of Millbrook, running against the incumbent mayor. Despite his pledge to run a campaign of hope and positivity, behind the scenes there was arm-twisting and blackmail on the part of the Montgomery family to secure information, secrets and scandals against the opposition that would bring momentum to Aaron's campaign. Aaron himself is aware of these closed-door-dealings, though remains naive to the true lengths the Montgomery family went to secure his successful campaign, and indeed he himself never released a 'scandal' against the incumbent mayor, instead looking to promote the positive change he would bring about. Such scandals were instead released through 'anonymous sources', no doubt the Montgomery family.
The result, however, was a decisive victory for Aaron's campaign. Three years ago, he was sworn in as the Mayor of Millbrook.

His ascension to the post of Mayor marked a new era for Millbrook, one that has led to the bloodshed and horrors of increased levels of organised crime, with the Montgomery family being allowed to 'slip through the fingers' of law enforcement as a result from pressure above, specifically, the Mayor's Office. Aaron was promised, in return for a blind eye toward what August described as 'innocent' actions from the Montgomery family, funding for a variety of schemes he sought to implement that he believed would benefit the lowest in society. While these schemes have indeed been implemented, the ever-growing feud between the three families threatens to tear the city apart and has, if nothing else, drawn attention away from the 'good' work of the Mayor, instead focusing on the deaths and crimes as a result of, what the press are describing, the blood feud.

Now, however, three years after his inauguration and a gradually growing conflict within the city, Aaron grows tired of not only the Montgomery family, but the Davidson and Edmond families alike. Yet deciding to go after the families will undoubtedly lead to serious reprecussions from not only the Montgomery family, who certainly have dirt on him, but the others as well. How Aaron will proceed in his efforts to bring the city back into lawful control, not even he is sure.

After discussing the idea with the GM, I present the Mayor of the lovely little city, Aaron Flint. His 'allegiance' is to the Montgomery family after he was, essentially, bought out. His percieved allegiance to the Montgomery family by the other families will no doubt make him a target in the escalation of the conflict, yet his own resolution to finally 'take a stand' against the mafia families that threaten to tear Millbook apart will undoubtedly bring him at odds with even the Montgomery dynasty.

Throughout their brief year together at university, August would subtly ensure Aaron was aware of the wider problems in the city. He spoke of his admiration for Aaron's desire to help those at the bottom through social work, but told him the 'hard truth', as he often put it, that unless there was a man willing to take on the city itself and handle these problems from the top, there would be an endless cycle. An endless cycle of men, like Aaron, achieving in the end, nothing.

The idea stuck with Aaron long after August left university, and indeed the two had little to no contact after August left university. Yet after completing his course at university, and after two years of a career in social care, Aaron finally convinced himself that his mentor at university all of those years ago, was correct. He quit his job, and contacted August. Then, in almost a whirlwind of developments, August found himself as the Democratic nominee for the city of Millbrook, running against the incumbent mayor. Despite his pledge to run a campaign of hope and positivity, behind the scenes there was arm-twisting and blackmail on the part of the Montgomery family to secure information, secrets and scandals against the opposition that would bring momentum to Aaron's campaign. Aaron himself is aware of these closed-door-dealings, though remains naive to the true lengths the Montgomery family went to secure his successful campaign, and indeed he himself never released a 'scandal' against the incumbent mayor, instead looking to promote the positive change he would bring about. Such scandals were instead released through 'anonymous sources', no doubt the Montgomery family.
The result, however, was a decisive victory for Aaron's campaign. Three years ago, he was sworn in as the Mayor of Millbrook.

His ascension to the post of Mayor marked a new era for Millbrook, one that has led to the bloodshed and horrors of increased levels of organised crime, with the Montgomery family being allowed to 'slip through the fingers' of law enforcement as a result from pressure above, specifically, the Mayor's Office. Aaron was promised, in return for a blind eye toward what August described as 'innocent' actions from the Montgomery family, funding for a variety of schemes he sought to implement that he believed would benefit the lowest in society. While these schemes have indeed been implemented, the ever-growing feud between the three families threatens to tear the city apart and has, if nothing else, drawn attention away from the 'good' work of the Mayor, instead focusing on the deaths and crimes as a result of, what the press are describing, the blood feud.

Now, however, three years after his inauguration and a gradually growing conflict within the city, Aaron grows tired of not only the Montgomery family, but the Davidson and Edmond families alike. Yet deciding to go after the families will undoubtedly lead to serious reprecussions from not only the Montgomery family, who certainly have dirt on him, but the others as well. How Aaron will proceed in his efforts to bring the city back into lawful control, not even he is sure.

The Aletheians (as the inhabitants of the city of Aletheia have come to be known) are a stout, strong-willed and hardy folk. They have become experts of the open sea and fishery, relying on the vast sea around them for their livelihoods and source of food. As a result, fish is without a doubt the most common foodsource in Aletheia. While there are farms, and indeed hunting lodges, the farms do not provide enough bread for the entire populace and more 'exquisite' meats of deer and other-such forest dwelling animals have become rarities enjoyed largely by the highborns alone.

Their climate is warm, and they have become accustomed to such. Indeed, they have yet to encounter a harsh winter or heavy snowfall and survive in almost perpetual summer-like conditions.

In Depth Appearance:

Elroy's general appearance can be summarised rather neatly; he is a youthful, attractive boy. He is, however, a rather unimposing figure, standing at a meager 5'9 and never having quite developed a muscular build as his father had wanted. Instead, his frame is lean and well-toned, giving the impression he exercised purely for 'the look', as opposed to any legitimate intention to gain strength. His skin, too, is soft and unweathered, without a scar or rough patch to be seen. This, more than anything, highlights the sheltered and pampered life he has led, much to the irritation of his late-father and prominent figures such as 'The Count'.

Having been blessed with the good looks of his mother, Elroy has always been particularly vain and is known for setting the fashion trends at court. Indeed, his father would often chastise him for his 'womanly' devotion to his appearance and fashion. While his fashion-trends change over time, he has currently been wearing generally intricately floral patterned and colourful robes, wth his opponents quipping that if he put as much effort into the understanding of combat as he does into his own dress every day, Falor would have crushed the rebellion over a year ago.

Where his father would have had him training with the squires in the courtyard, Elroy spent his childhood among the poets and playwrights, learning the value of culture and writing. He has, as a result of this, always had a unique appreciation for history and more specifically, how he shall be remembered in history. His cynics would argue that it is this unnatural desire to be remembered well in the years after his death that influences his attitude and the decisions he makes, though none are entirely sure if there are any truths in these claims.

Elroy has always had an inherently tender and forbearing attitude. He is quick to forgive, and slow to condemn. Almost an exact opposite from his father, who sought to reinforce his ideas of a 'Kingly firmness' and decisiveness that he believed was necessary to effectively rule over a Kingdom. Elroy, however, never quite managed to understand or appreciate the views held by his father and has long since forgotten a great many of his teachings. Today, he rules with a light touch and patience, looking to make peace with his sister under any terms, with the only exemption being his refusal to give up the throne. It is his, by right. Indeed, Elroy's passionate desire for justice in all things has brought him to odds with his vassals, courtiers and advisers who would rather he turned his critical eye toward his enemies rather than those of his own kingdom.

Yet despite having a strong sense of the morally correct and a determination to see his rule mark Falor as a 'just, lawful kingdom', Elroy lacks the strength to properly act on these feelings. His kindness and tolerance is seen by many to be a weakness, if not merely a facade held by the king to hide the pushover he has become. While such claims may be untrue, it is indeed the case that Elroy is not confident enough to openly criticise his vassals (in particular, 'The Count) for any percieved wrongdoing they may make, fearing what may come if he fractures his kingdom once again. One truth that Elroy would certainly like to keep hidden is his deeply-rooted fear of combat, and the horrible injuries that are associated with it, for were those still loyal to him discover the cowardly nature of their king, it is no doubt the case that their 'unwavering' loyalty would begin to fall into question.

D E F I N I N G M Y P A S T

History:

Born into the warm summer, Elroy's mother died in childbirth and he was raised primarily by those present in his fathers court. His father, being noncomittal and distant, was not involved in the upbringing of his only son until it was 'too late' to sculpt him into the heir he had wanted, and indeed, expected. Being raised among such individuals, Elroy has not grown up to be a king of warfare, but rather a king of words and peace. He would excel at the politics of the realm even, were he not as reluctant to involve himself as he currently is. His love for poetry and dramatic productions was inspired from his childhood experiences with such writers, and he has quite the skill for poetry, having locked himself away in his study for more hours than he cares to remember when he was a child to write poetry for budding love interests or simply for pleasure, and he continues to pursue the hobby even now in his maturity. Having been by-and-large neglected by his father, who was instead more interested in pursuing grand hunts with his retainers, Elroy has rarely left the capital city, let alone the Kingdom of Falor. This has proven to create one of his greatest challenges; overcoming naivety. Being raised among the luxurious environment of a well-protected castle in the capital city of Falor, foreign conflicts and struggles have always seemed to be so far off, and never quite 'real' to Elroy, and he is finding his sudden adjustment to being responsible for the entirety of the Kingdom of Falor to be a true struggle, now surrounding himself with advisors in order to meet the task. Naturally, however, the advisors he has surrounded himself are also from the capital, being the people he knows, and this has created a problematic imabalance among his leadership that some of his more 'old-guard' vassals are not fond of: the king appears to have ushered in a 'new generation' of young, upcoming figures who, their opponents would say, do not understand the state of the realm and the harsh realities of warfare. They believe that Elroy, and his army of advisors and courtiers, will not be able to lead Falor into the cruelty and ruthlessness that comes alongside any war. This has led to one of his most prominent nicknames, 'The Summer King', an insult whispered behind his back to insinuate weakness, a king who is only interested in the 'finer things' of life, and not a viable long-term figure to lead the nation through thick and thin.

Elroy continued to live his relatively innocent life of playing politics and attending social events with the courtiers and next generation of politicians in Falor until the death of his father not long after he turned 15. The death of his father hit him particularly hard, and though he is ashamed to admit it, not in the usual way you would expect a son to be grief-stricken over the death of their father. No, his father had never been a warm or loving individual, and instead Elroy suddenly fell into the realisation that he was the king of Falor, and it was this revelation that struck him the hardest. Unsure of how to proceed, Elroy reverted back to doing what he had always done, socialising and fraternising with the younger generations of politicians and courtiers of the realm, convincing some in the realm that he was unsuitable to lead Falor. This loss of confidence in the ability of Elroy led to the great schism in the kingdom, and the eventual civil war that exists to this day, when his sister fled the capital and declared herself the rightful queen of Falor. Though she found less support that she would have no doubt liked for her rebellion, she took with her a sizeable chunk of land through rebellious vassals who sympathised with her fight for the throne, believing that by placing her on the throne, they would undoubtedly be achieving the 'greater good' for Falor.

In the two years since, the war has reached somewhat of a stalemate. Elroy has refused suggestions by his most experienced vassals to begin an assault on the false-kingdom of Seabel, instead seeking for an end to the conflict through a diplomatic agreement that will avoid war, and spare the lives of thousands. Greatly concerned by his lack of action, an evergrowing faction of disgruntled vassals led by 'The Count' are quietly rumbling among the shadows, observing and calculating the worth of Elroy as a king at all times. Now, however, with the decennial meeting of peace upcoming, Elroy believes he has finally found his chance to sue for peace with his sister and is preparing to use all of his political might to bring about not only an end to the conflict, but an end to the war without the great loss of life, a feat that will endear him for years to come.
