Yo! I'm a fairly simply guy who's in here due to my love of writing. I've never got into the swing of things on these forums due to other stuff, hence the massive difference from the time I joined to the number of posts I've made. I'm a big geek when it comes to all things anime, fiction and games. I can roleplay just about anything as long as it doesn't involve me using an actual person's picture. I usually lean on the anime style of RP's, but recently I've been branching out for the sake of gaining perspective. I don't inherently dislike any character tropes, I believe if the execution is right and the direction is clear then something of value can come out of that. I might be online in theory, but that might just be me leaving the tab open. If you wanna talk just go ahead! I don't bite... much.

It all was a tad humorous to Lumen. Between the Vice demonstrating that there was indeed a thorn tickling at her sides and that she held more knowledge that he anticipated, Lumen couldn't help but adorn levity on his feature that garnered themselves into the shape of a smile. That the staff has bent their knee to what seems to be the wishes of the student's vexation felt less of an action done for the sake of quelling the insipid chatter between his peers and more so to teach them a lesson. It was a forceful hand to a complicated situation, but in earnest Lumen thought that caging what they might seem to be children into tight corners would inevitable bring friction. This is a means to an end and what seems as the end didn't really feel too exciting to Lumen. But he couldn't find it within himself to bring much importance to that matter, as there was another thing that popped into his thoughts. The fact that there were similar incidence in the city. Of course, they were running the chance of saying that any immediate threat was perhaps shifted into another focus. That whatever it was that attacked a student wasn't anywhere near the campus. Which Lumen found to be a rather shallow conclusion. The city certainly wasn't a short stroll away, and with what was just said, he gathered that the killer wasn't human.

Creature, assuming these words weren't but mere fodder in her speech, it held some merit to keep them in mind. The killer was not something that could come to rational thought, and if it did, it thought differently than what the moral code insinuated rational people should act like. It was a beast and that shortened his list, throughout the week the murmurs had quelled considerably, slowly had the initial impact of the news of a death quelled and gave birth to ceaseless rumors. They were vestigial and held no purpose other than slight whimsy, Lumen found them highly unattractive and boring. They did not cease his growing sense of curiosity, only mumbled at his ears irrelevance he rather not take privy to. Secondly, that the idea that there was only one. If several murders has come into fruition, then perhaps some better planing and personnel should be placed at the helm. If it were a single creature, it wouldn't be too difficult to follow it's trace. It was, in fact, just a creature. Unless it held a considerable intelligence, it would leave a trace. But no, it didn't. This is in speculation that they were not being told the entirety of the matter, which is was obvious that they weren't. Meaning one of two, that this creature is something even beyond the scope of the teachers and anyone else with far much more potency, or two... there was more than one of these things roaming around.

"How curios, indeed." His tone had almost a uncomfortable glee to them. This feeling, the feeling of unveiling and reaching clarity. Something about what Lumen just proposed to himself gave him a sense of understanding. This was, indeed something he should keep in mind. This was refreshing, he silently demonstrated his appreciation to the vice-principal. This was very interesting indeed. Missions on such a quick occasion, Lumen was sure he was, maybe, a lot farther back than his peers when it came to combat, his element hadn't shown any trace of solidifying its hue, meaning he was nowhere near mastering it. He can sense his other soul bellowing for strength. He stood off his seat and proceeded along with the group to the bulletin board that would present his mission and partners, reading among the myriad of papers and advertisements of other things, there he found his name amidst others. Yuris and Mako were their guardians during this event, what an odd paring indeed. But they were at the helm, things would be very interesting and not easy in the slightest.

Now to witness the names of his comrades for this endeavor. Circe, Roland and Ceiran. Unfortunately, he knew of them but not much about them. He adjusted his hood so that his vision was warded, the curse could pose a problem even at this circumstances. It was a curse after all and although some people demonstrated much resistance to it, it was still better to keep it hid than to have it expose and bring him more trouble than what it's worth. He cursed Kresnik for his sultry past. Any except for Roland, who up until this day was still the talk of the school, he hadn't much interactions with the rest. He certainly remember Ceiran, from that time where he and some arachnid-girl were talking to the teachers at lunch, he seemed weird and sensible... He didn't really know what was going on with him, but he demonstrated a sense of... danger. Perhaps it was Kresnik's warning, but he felt uneasy around him. Which was all the best to have him around, he would unveil his secrets and feel all the more fulfilled for it. Turning his head towards the sides, he looked for his comrades, only to see that the boy who he was just a moment ago thinking about sat with a grimoire in his hand. He paced off the crowed and towards his now teammate.

"Excuse me." Lumen spoke, smile on lip, still holding the tip of his hood, slightly pulling it down to hide his sight enough so the curse wouldn't register. "Seems we're gonna be paired up together, Ceiran. I hope it's not too much to say that I am excited for it. I'll do my best to keep up with you and not bring the team down."
I have no objections either

A nod and smile was delivered their way, Lumen directed himself towards the seat and answered accordingly to Duncan's querry. "It was a rather interesting experience if I say so myself, one laced with a lot of oddities. She brought an animal to the classroom who wouldn't dismiss the metal leg of the chair it gnawed upon." Lumen said turning to see Trey, who didn't feel too inclined initially to expand on what had happened to him, respecting that thought he dismissed that part particularly and continued on the other topic. "She teaches economics, actually. Well, I do suppose that within our circle not all of us might end up Dawn-Slayers." Lumen said rather dejectedly, something seemed to popped up on his thoughts suddenly, worrisome that he might be in that mixture of people. He pulled down his hood further, trying his best to conceal his eyes sight without obscuring his vision to pertinently. "She wants us to understand the value of money and what out roles with that are. I don't really get it, but I'm sure something of worth will be shown to us."

With that, it seemed Trey had followed up with a question of his own. Yes Roland the odd boy from the other day. Lumen had witnessed him talking with a female of crimson hair sometime when he sat in those heights before. Duncan replied earnestly, something about that felt refreshing. He wasn't afraid to demonstrate his thoughts. No reason to do so, either. They were at a safe space of course, though this young poltergeist as he snicked a glace at this odd child who sat with Yuris, Tholl and that other teacher. "Yes, he is quite something." Replied Lumen rather wistfully, reminding himself of Kresnik. "I think it's less about foolhardiness and more about passion. Certainly it doesn't stem from a sense of becoming and self-interest. It upholds a badge of benevolence, I feel. You're friends heart is in the right place, it's almost a shame that ours weren't in its entirety." Lumen thought, thinking that if anything else, someone of greater heart would've become the hero and give up something in order to obtain something better for someone else. He allowed that to sink in for a bit, before he continued: "Then again, we're weak for the most part. It's not at all smart to start looking for trouble if we can't dispel set trouble in the first place. Sorry, I went on a tangent. Forget I said anything."

What an interesting development. Thought lumen, feet swinging at the edge of the support he sat down upon. It had seemed that this spider girl had garnered an interesting amount of attention to herself, three teachers and within that was an even stranger child. He seemed uneasy, almost like a shaky hand at the end of a trigger. Something oozed out of him and it wasn't pleasant, either. It was evident he didn't have much... control of what his body did and did not do. Twitching between intervals and restricting motion after a spasm. Something was odd alright, and it feed all the more deeper to Lumen's curiosity. "Hmm. Too early, still too early. We might have a mess in our hands within the premises too. If that's the case, it seems there's a cat in our bird cage." Lumen pondered on the thought, if that child really was as dangerous as he believed, then would the teachers be fast enough to react to the outburst? Or would another life be at stake. Lumen slapped his left cheek, a gesture he did solely to snap himself of such a troubling thought. "What am I even saying?" He laughed. A final gulp and Lumen had finally finished the last of his meal, guess he would proceed towards that boy who appeared a bit too late to class, Duncan was there, it seemed he had separated from Ronald and that red haired, female. Perfect, he didn't have to spend this time lulling around. Jumping off from where he sat his feet managed to plant themselves firmly on the ground, the high difference was a bit higher than what Lumen anticipated, so there was quite the small stumble upon landing.

Lumen quickly regained his posture and proceeded to adjust his hood, hiding his eyes from plain sight. This should hold the curse back long enough for someone to not be too affected by it. His traveled across this place, where people would all form friendly circles around their preferred classmates and friend. Many tables were already full of people whom where eating their lunch or merely enjoying their break. Teachers loomed across this place too, so nothing felt too disorganized. This is knowing that a higher power was among them and that they arbiter'd control to some extent. Regardless, Lumen made it towards Trey and Duncan with much thought to it at all.

"Hey, Duncan! It's good to see you again." He turned to the kid next to him. "Trey, was it? I'm Lumen. Sorry you had to go through Mrs. Tholl's lecture in front of everyone. It couldn't have been too pleasing." He said, a smile beaming on his lip. "Do you guys mind if I sit? You see there aren't many free spaces around, soooo..."
Lumen Kresnik

Much occurred upon lunch time, there were many interesting faces around and much more interactions occurring among the seams. With a cup of instant noodle on one hand and a fork on the other, young Lumen sat on tall grounds witnessing the rustle of the crowd under him. But perhaps tall grounds was a bit of an overstatement, as the boy really just sat on a lingering support beam which comfortably held his weigh enough to help sustain him on such a height. His eyes shifting from side-to-side gathering whatever fruits of information he could about the people around them. Silence was now his companion, hid under the guise of his hood, those who favored flying were exchanging weird glances at the youth due to the idea the climb couldn't have been too comfortable to begin with. And Lumen could admit it wasn't too pleasurable, but the sights from here were worth it. This is what a harpy would view, or a hawk, the idea was that he could garner a different perceptive of sight by mere accommodating himself somewhere differently. In the rustle of people, it was easy to ignore or miss the small details which slipped effortlessly on the trek of everyday, from here, it's as if he was a spectator to a play... Of course, this came with the concious decision to slip away from staff and promptly expose himself to future turmoil, but then again, could they blame him? This was the epitome of freedom. He was withing sight and it was awfully entertaining as well. Many aspect came to him, for one he saw his Economics teacher and that old Vampire Lord Yurius interact with students.

He witnessed Duncan and Ronald exchanging in conversation, and much more a face he hasn't seen before and it was an arachnid humanoid talking with Tholl, seems they hit it off quite effortlessly. "Hmmm, the only down side for heights is that I can't obtain any audible information." He expressed with noted disappointment. Why was Lumen disappointed? He couldn't really understand it, either. His finger tips were heating the cup enough to cause the water withing was beginning to steam, his other hands twirled the forked between fingers, mindlessly keeping it busy until he thought the temperature was enough to begin consuming this. That strange kid who appeared late for class sat alone in a corner, eating his sandwich in peace. Maybe Lumen should make an attempt at conversation, but to be frank he didn't want to give up his spot. Trey was his name, correct? Trey didn't seem to be half as emotive as prior, perhaps he has already forgotten those feelings of dread that came to his mien once the class ended. Lumen shrugged at the though, and he began to eat his noodles.

Now, he needed to do something entirely different. He could snoop around for information, or merely allow events to unfold. To be frank, he needed freedom beyond what he had now to do one of those, and he couldn't really draw so much suspicion to himself that he could be considered the prime subject. This mystery pegged at his curiosity immensely, and more the while the silence the staff was keeping was even more mysterious as well. Why not even announce what kind of creature is following them? Do they expect everyone would just calmly follow their directive? Perhaps they do, perhaps they mind not anything due to their trust on their student's obedience. Lumen's sights shifts to Ronald, who previously had underwent a state of rage due to the situation at hand. Were it not for Duncan's intervention, or even Yurius, he might've done something he ended up regretting. Life was at stake here... Lumen knew this as a fact, but to those who's hearts are stronger than their will of survival... would they be able to sit idly back knowing how something of great mystery and more so, a insensibility that allowed them to kill... Will they be able to sit back forever and let other do their fights for them?

Lumen laughed. The answer was no, of course. Only until the right buttons were pushed, until the wrong person dies. Someone who they love, so... what would it take? Lumen was intensely caught in his own thoughts. Maybe it was the best course to just wait and see. This type of mysteries have a way to unfold themselves.
Got a post up, sorry for the delay. This past week has been killer.

Mrs. Tholl continue her lesson while Lumen delved deeper into his thoughts. She did mention something along the lines of points or whatever and continued expanding on what was said, but Lumen didn't much place attention to it. There was something peculiar about it all, if one were to think about such in earnest. Their reason for coexisting in this world would amalgamate to keeping a balance. Lumen could only guess that the balance is that which keeps things stable within what's considered real. Magic in the other hands seems to both be damaging the world as it is keeping it alive... It's as if a disease was the primary staple that was causing one to live. Almost poetic in a sense, but that just rose the question of it all. What was causing such distraught? This had become the world's largest mystery. Of course that is if we considered the parameters are that a source even exists, if not we could only conclude that magic in itself is the damaging substance which causes a shift in the balance. A grin rose on Lumen's lips as the thought began to complicate itself, the information was too shallow and he couldn't come to any feasible conclusions, he tapped his temple with gentle blithe knowing the circumstances would escalate if action was not taken. The fear he sensed originally when noting the presence of death still lingered through his core, but there was something much more potent boiling through such sentiments which birthed a sense of courage through Lumen. A sense of curiosity about uncovering the truth... Would this mean he would become the means that would shift the balance?

His thought were cut off by a slamming of the door, a student came in, sweat dripping down his temple as he spoke between heavy breaths. He was late... Lumen witnessed the strange youth walk shamefully towards his desk, trying to avoid the inevitable gaze of his peers who all murmured about the spectacle that had just unfolded. This boy is known as... Trey? He seemed to have noted the wolf who gnawed at the table, like the ferocious animal that it was and it beckoned on Trey something fearful. Lumen could read it on this boy's gaze, he felt like coming late was a mistake. Anyone would be caught off guard by such a sight. Indeed, this class was one of mysteries and oddities alike. Nothing here made much sense when you place it on a periphery. All here seems awkward and out of place, but it was in fact as normal as it could get. Lumen smiled as the teacher delivered a stern response to this student's tardiness. Such then followed by what seemed to be a more... hopeful exchange, they didn't have to be potent magic users at the end result, they could become whatever they wanted, labor in whatever they pleased. This... Seemed odd to Lumen, but yet all the more intriguing. His ambitions were shallow, to be honest. They held as much passion as a child striving for the next thing that'll keep him entertained. Lumen merely wanted to understand the secrets of the world, to solve the mysteries of old and new, to understand that which he doesn't and see things he hasn't.

He doesn't care about everything else, he doesn't care about the monetary... He's lived without such for years. All his life, actually. He wanted to help Kresnik see what's beyond the first life. And this flame here, that which he could conjure at his behest, would be a stepping stone to witness the grandeur which lies withing the dangerous. He couldn't die until then, but... strangely, death roamed across his campus. Perhaps Lumen should be the first to understand this mystery... The teachers seem to be hiding it exclusively for their own protection. Or maybe even... for their own gain?

The bell rang, signifying lunch time. Lumen placed his hood back and smile rose on his lip. It was time to proceed with the day. What should he do other than eat?
Says that one has expired as well.
