Alex hadn't realized he had fallen asleep.

Pushing his book aside and massaging his stiff neck with one hand, Alex looked down to check his watch. He groaned. He'd been out for nearly an hour!

Grabbing his things, Alex hurried back to the reception desk, relieved to notice that it was blissfully line-free.

Key card in hand, Alex made his way upwards to room 317. He barely took in the large space before his stomach growled. Checking the mini-fridge, Alex was disappointed to see that it was empty save for a can or two of pop. He needed something a lot more substantial than that- preferably something fried.

Slipping his wallet into his back pocket, Alex left the room in search of a place to eat.
Alex wanted to say something. The blond at the desk clearly had other priorities, and he certainly didn't care who he was inconveniencing...

But he didn't, of course. He was weird like that.

Sighing, Alex excused himself from the line and headed towards the direction of the many leather-upholstered chairs in the lobby. Plopping down on the nearest one, he began searching his bag for the book he brought with him.

Book in hand, Alex briefly glanced over his shoulder at the line (and noting that it hadn't budged an inch) before sinking further into the squeaky seat, adjusting the volume on his iPod as well. He wasn't in a rush. He would wait this one out.
Are we still waiting for some of the others to post??
"Woah..."

Alex had expected the hotel to be nice, but this? This was something.

He walked into the lobby, pulling one earphone out and allowing himself to soak in the view. The space was huge, practically screaming opulence. Alex checked himself over, mentally grimacing at his plain green hoodie and worn converse.

Pushing the thought back, Alex adjusted the strap on his messenger bag and replaced his earphone before heading towards the reception desk. There was only one, flustered receptionist behind the desk and a long line in front of him. Alex sighed. He took his place behind a shorter woman and turned up the volume on his iPod.

Nearing the school, Arthur couldn't help feeling slightly overwhelmed by the sights that greeted him. They were just so many people, and the young Mythic had never been particularly fond of crowds.

There were even more students on the grounds, an exotic array of individuals ranging from those with tails, wings, or fangs, to those who appeared more or less human. It was the ones who looked human that left Arthur curious. He wondered what exactly lay beneath each facade.

As Arthur neared the arched entryway, he noted a handful of individuals that caught his attention. A few feet away from him stood a gargantuan man talking not-so-eagerly with the blond at his side. Another pair in front of him, a young man with a cane and a girl, seemed immersed in their own conversation. Arthur caught snippets of it as he walked past- something about wolves.

The Academy's main doors open in front of him, Arthur entered into a brightly lit hall filled with stern-looking professors and even more students.

It was then that Arthur's hunger made itself known. His stomach grumbled loudly, a reminder to the boy that he had not eaten for several hours since he had left his apartment, and that even almost-immortals needed sustenance. "Great. Maybe I can find someone who can lead me to the kitchen-"

"Food?"

Arthur paused, turning to look at the figure hidden at the side of the entrance. It was a woman. Her appearance, albeit feral looking, matched the honey-rich tone of her voice. Arthur knew he was staring. Mentally wincing, the Phoenix quickly replied (though he knew the question was in no-way addressed to him).

"Uh...I'm guessing you're looking to grab a bite as well?"
Arthur stood still on the path that would lead him towards the Academy, green eyes wide as he took in the building's imposing structure. How one was able to keep such a place hidden in the forest, not even he could guess.

After momentarily taking in the scenery, Arthur’s attention returned to the letter in his palm, eyes skimming over its words once more.

The young Phoenix had been sent the invitation to attend Redthorn Academy many years ago, though he never felt compelled to accept at the time. He was a solitary creature, managing to fend for himself for almost a century now. Arthur had been certain that he wouldn’t need the Academy’s promise of safety or teachings- well, until now it seemed.

He had felt it only recently, a shift in the air. What exactly said shift was Arthur had yet to figure out; however, it was enough for him to finally enroll at Redthorn Academy.

And it was obvious he wasn’t the only one. Mythics from all around the world were milling about on the school’s grounds- more than he had ever seen in his lifetime. Vampires, Fae, Shapeshifters- it was certainly an intimidating sight, but a surprisingly welcome one nonetheless.

Lips curling into a smile, Arthur adjusted his messenger bag and continued on his walk.
