F A M I L Y M E M B E R SYounger Sister-Hope Redson. Currently she lives in the village and shares their childhood home.
Father-Chuck Redson. Lives at home with Red and Hope. Has been sick with a strange unknown illness for the past three years-the past two of which he has been unable to get out of bed.
Mother-Laura Redson. Died giving birth to her daughter Hope Redson.
A N I M A L F R I E N D SRed takes care of the family dog that looks more like an old pile of wrinkles and fur than the once active and energetic blood hound known the whole village over by the name of Boon. Well past his prime years Boon is often found warming his old bones in front of the forge.
H O M E L I F EThe Redsons have always taken up residence in location 16 in an effort to be as close to any metal being hauled out of the mines as possible while also trying to put a bit of distance between the constantly churning fires of their forge and the citizens of Valbree should the unthinkable happen.
Being one of the oldest buildings in the village you can literally see history by looking at the mostly wooden structure that is the Redson house. From the way it tucks just slightly into the woods to the fact that the angles and measurements are just a bit off to avoid any branch growth from the surrounding trees it can clearly be seen that great effort was taken to blend the building into its natural surroundings as opposed to forcing the earth to meet their needs.
The house itself consisted of three main parts with the largest of the three being the centermost structure. The middle piece, by far the most weather worn of the buildings, resembles the typically seen barn frame-once a place to hold hay and horses it now acts as a two story home. On the left the old barn door (Now a huge finely carved set of French doors) is a “one car garage” sized attachment that had been built by the man with the largest family in the Redson's history: Red's great grandfather. Red himself lives at the top of this addition to the family home-it is not a coincidence this is the furthest spot from his father and sister who have rooms on the bottom floor of the “barn.”
Kept detached from the house and made of a stucco type material and stone is the family forge. The pride of the family this relatively small building is where all the metalwork is done and almost constantly belches a steady stream of gray smoke into the sky that is always visible from the village.
S T O R YThey say the only Forge in Valbree Village has had its fires stoked by the men of the Redson family since the surrounding land was a mere settlement. To this day that tradition is carried out every day by the soul remaining male heir to the Redson name-Wolfgang “Red” Redson. Those that knew Wolfgang before his fathers failing health could hardly see a similarity between his past personality and the now constantly somber, if not sometimes outright hostile, attitude he always seems to have. Where he had been quick to joke before and even quicker to smile while simultaneously being a genuinely caring listener he now couldn't help but wear an uncaring expression while topics that would have stirred him to offer help or condolences once before just left him silent at best.
Very much known as a Nihlist these days and one that is best avoided for the most part by the better part of the village Red tends to just throw himself into his never ending work. In truth he rarely leaves his home/forge these days and even those that he used to be close with have been pushed rather far away despite his sisters various schemes and plots to get him out of the house and socializing.
