Rachel - Extremely confused, following Yuuka and Nepeta

Rachel stared, wide-eyed as the monsters began emerging from the cracks. The fluff balls had been one thing, but this...how did they...This made no sense. Before she could question the situation any further, one of the museum's staff called for them to run for safety. Given the general panic spreading through the museum, it seemed obvious that this wasn't just part of some show.

...And then Yuuka said something about jumping out a window.

"W-wha..?" She stammered. Despite not being particularly fond of the plan, the brunette followed her and Nepeta. This hardly seemed like a good time to stick around or wander off on her own, after all.
Rachel sighed, watching a hellish minotaur rushing towards her. Of course, she looked defenceless, so the creature's charge seemed reasonable. If one ignored the pile of its comrades behind her. 3...2...1...Rachel smiled as a wall of semi-transparent blue figures popped up between her and the monster; spirits of the dead bound to her service. The ghosts unleashed a volley of energy blasts at the demonic bull as it stumbled around, trying to get to the human. The brunette simply sat back and watched the carnage.

Bladed Aatxe drops a Glob of Ectoplasm.

"Heh, jackpot." Rachel walked over and picked up the blob. She wasn't entirely sure WHY she was killing the monsters and harvesting chunks of them, but...it was worth a lot of money and they weren't exactly dangerous...so long as she could keep them from actually hitting her.

...And then her phone beeped, breaking the brunette's immersion. Frowning, she looked to see what the problem was. A low battery? Well, she could just sort that out later. However, something else struck her as she looked at the somewhat outdated device...Didn't she have somewhere she was meant to go today?

"Oh crap..." She mumbled, jumping out of bed, she quickly shut down her computer and hurried to get ready. Soon, she was out the door and racing towards Dylan's place...Moments later, she found herself backtracking, having forgotten to grab her laptop or 3DS before heading out. A short time later, she sprinted out again, without a word to any of her housemates. With a set of headphones plugged in, attached to a PSP which had spent most of its time recently being used as an MP3 player.
Around ten minutes later, Rachel arrived. Standing a short distance from the apartment's entrance, she stopped to catch her breath. Running here had been...kind of exhausting, especially given what she'd been carrying. She turned off her PSP and took a deep breath. Brushing some stray hair out of her eyes, she approached the door. Putting on her best French accent, she set about announcing her arrival...

"Allo, allo, allo. Ça va, Go-Busters?"

...With a reference she was pretty sure would be completely lost on most of the room's occupants.

"Um, hey. Sorry, I'm late." She added, looking around. Well...at least they hadn't started yet. So maybe she wasn't too late at least.

Due to a combination of not wanting to sit in someone else's spot and having forgotten to eat breakfast, Rachel drifted towards the pizza.
The best gifts.
Image of Character: Seen here, cosplaying something not relevant to this RP. She's about 5'4" and normally wears a pair of thin-framed glasses. And her Game Master outfit...well, minus the helmet. Doesn't exactly fit well with glasses.
Name: Rachel Kay
Nickname: N/A
"Game Master" Title: Weh no Su
Gender: Female
Chosen Game Mastery: Guild Wars
Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): The Warrior profession. She gains enhanced physical capabilities and skill with an assortment of weapons. She also acquires a small bag with far more storage space than it should have, when she gets it, it contains the aforementioned suit of armour, minus the helmet, a sword, a shield and a hammer. Finally, she has access to the secondary profession system, allowing her to change between an assortment of abilities (although she'll generally stick to either elemental or healing magic) almost at will. However, due to the nature of her primary profession, using magical abilities tends to tire her out quickly.
Background: There isn't really much to say. Rachel has had a boring, ordinary life for the most part. She coasted through school without any real effort, getting decent grades in the process and then headed off to university.
Other: Rachel is shy around people she doesn't know. However once she feels comfortable around someone, she becomes more cheerful and energetic, if a bit snarky at times. She can be surprisingly hammy, when she feels the situation calls for it. She is a fan of assorted manga and anime, mostly slice of life or action series, as well as assorted tokusatsu series. As far as games go, she tends to prefer RPGs and fighting games to most genres, though she has a soft spot for older Nintendo platformers, having spent a lot of her childhood with the Donkey Kong Country games, Kirby's Fun Pak and Super Mario All-Stars.

...Also, I don't really have a favourite video game character. Um, maybe Diddy Kong?
Interested.
Um, I might be interested in joining this if I can come up with a decent idea.

Kind of thinking maybe Guild Wars or its sequel for the game mastery if that's okay.
I'm going to bed soon, but I'll try to have the OOC for this up tomorrow. The IC will go up when the WIP profiles are finished. I'll still be accepting new characters though.

Name: Manami Mikado
Age: 18
Appearance: Here.
Abilities: Nothing too impressive. She's capable of passing classes with decent grades despite not studying at all, but other than that...she's fairly normal.
Rider Powers: Manami has an experimental Lost Driver and several Gaia Memories, allowing her to transform into Kamen Rider Wild. Due to her Driver and Memories' nature, each of Manami's Rider forms share an appearance with Kamen Rider Cyclone, though their colour schemes differ.
  • Shrimp: A red form with blue lines, Shrimp form has average speed, fragile defences (though still tougher than a normal human) and not much in the way of physical strength. However, in this form, Manami wields the Shrimpistol, a gun which looks similar to Kamen Rider Skull's Skull Magnum, although predominately blue instead of black, which fires powerful blasts of energy which she claims are hotter than the sun. Of course, these claims are somewhat exaggerated...for her normal shots at least. This form's Maximum Drive (which she has yet to name) is activated by inserting the Shrimp Memory into the Shrimpistol, after this, it charges energy for a few seconds before unleashing a larger than normal shot which can reach temperatures approaching those of the Sun's surface.
  • Bear: A white and brown form with below average agility, but impressive strength and defensive capabilities. In this form, Manami fights unarmed, instead relying on her bare hands. This form's Maximum Drive, Grizzly End, has Manami slash at her enemy twice with her hands, leaving a trail of energy that resembles claw marks where her fingertips passed, which is followed up with a punch strong enough to send most enemies flying.
  • Bee: A yellow and black form that emphasises speed over strength or defence. In this form, she wields a sword called the Stinger. This form's Maximum Drive is activated by placing the Bee Memory into a slot in the base of the Stinger's hilt. After a brief charging period, Manami puts on a sudden burst of speed, delivering a large number of slashes and thrusts to her opponent in a short period of time.
Rider Machine: None.
Personality: Manami is something of a Rider fangirl, due mostly to an event in her childhood where she found herself in a group of people at risk of being sacrificed to a monster, only to be rescued by a strange creature calling himself Hibiki. She doesn't take her role as a Rider very seriously, often cracking jokes in the middle of fights or gushing over awesome moves her allies may pull off. When it comes to school or work, she tends to be rather lazy, using any excuse to procrastinate on study or finding a job. She has a tendency to make bad puns, seemingly getting the same amount of enjoyment whether people laugh or groan at the attempts at humour. Her favourite food is Pocky, and she has on at least one occasion forgone having proper food for dinner in favour of a box of the chocolate-coated biscuit sticks.
Backstory: Manami's life has been mostly uneventful, with two main exceptions. The first being the previously mentioned situation with Hibiki when she was nine years old and the second being a rather odd encounter several years ago. On her way home from school, Manami found a strange device lying on the ground, accompanied by several USB drives. Unknown to her, the device was a Lost Driver, created and left there by Foundation X as part of an experiment to determine why exactly the hypothetically superior monsters they had invested time and money into kept losing to Riders. Shortly after, she began to come under attack from an assortment of monsters; Dopants, Yummies, Zodiarts and even the odd Phantom. After a while, she became suspicious of this and, following some investigation and a bit of tinkering from an engineering student she was friends with, a chip that had been transmitting data about her fights back to the Foundation was removed from the Driver. Shortly after, the attacks stopped...leaving her free to go to Tokyo when an odd letter arrived for her.
Just getting the Mio part of my post out because...I've been blanking on how to finish it for a couple of days now, so I figured I should at least get something posted. Um, I'll get to work on/edit in a Rachel post as soon as I can work one out though.
Mio - Punching Fish

As the fishmen poured into the museum, Mio instinctively brought her arms up to protect herself, shifting into a more combat-ready stance. In the brief time since she'd been sent to this world, the ranger had learned that this world didn't, or rather wasn't meant to have this sort of problem. Still, regardless of where she was, it was her job to help deal with these...whatever they were. Working out where they'd come from could come later. As Danny commented on the monsters' sudden arrival, she piped in, her cheerful smile returning despite the situation.

"Well, based on how many appeared at once...I'm guessing these guys are just small fry. You should probably get somewhere safe and leave the fighting to us though."

Of course, given that she assumed these things were on the same level as the Predatory Beast Hall's Rinshi footsoldiers, Mio saw no real need to transform. Instead, she charged at the nearest of the monsters and delivered an uppercut with more power behind it than her size would imply was possible.
While it has and will have serious moments in it...I really don't see how its been overly serious so far. John and August's interactions don't come off as overly serious, especially given how the characters COULD be acting, given the circumstances. Mio, Mikoto and Danny's scene would be going a LOT worse if the electrocution were treated seriously instead of as slapstick. The stuff with Meowrin, Anno and Raineh is...uh, definitely not coming off as overly serious (I should know, I kind of did the overly serious reaction to Meowrin's style of shenanigans in a previous RP, it looks very different and is dumb). And...well, I could go on, but um, even with the serious scenes at the moment, none of them are coming off as overly serious, to me at least.
