Cayde isn't very tall for his age, being a height of 5'9", but is a fairly muscular, handsome 27 year old, with a sort of charisma that everyone and everything see as quite attractive. Cayde has very tanned, light-brown skin, with his charismatic glow and smile. He has a warriors build, his body having been described as hard as rock if someone where to ever run into him. Cayde's hair is quite messy as he doesn't style it often and most confuse it for flames due to the colo and the way it sways when he moves. His outfit is one denoting a special forces agent as he wears a tight black tactical shirt with grey lines down the middle, black cargo pants with a gunblade holster, black combat boots, and a black trench coat that holds his tools and magazines.
Personality
Many people have stated that Cayde doesn't seem to be the type of person who would be a SOLDIER and fighting in battles. He's often a cheerful guy, a person that would never frown or hold grudges against anybody no matter what they did to him in the past. He would lift spirits up in dark and gloomy times have fun in everything he does. He truly is a person who enjoys life to the fullest. His usually merry self would lead him into doing many selfless deeds. With this kind of personality, Cayde is able to make friends easily. Cayde is kind to all of the people around him and can easily sympathize with others. Loyalty is also one of Cayde's charm points and will press on forward to protect and serve the leaders of SHINRA, even willing to sacrifice his own life or them. Other SOLDIERs noted that Cayde possesses great willpower and stubbornness, getting him to change his mind isn't easy to do; unless orders counter his ideals, he is going to stick with his way to the end. He is also very dense and usually shows a blank or confused face. Although he seems like a kind person, Cayde does say that he tends to hold grudges for a long period of time. As a fellow SOLDIER, he is loyal to his superiors such as the President of Shinra. He would follow orders without question and doubt. As one of the SOLDIER 1st, he takes great pride in his title and defends it significantly.
Despite his usual self, his personality takes a 180 shift when it comes to battles, Cayde becomes a quieter and cold person than what he was like before. His battle strategies are often ruthless and violent. He is willing to make sacrifices, like his arm or taking a blow on the chest, in order to win the battle or learn the opponent's move set, strengths, and critical weaknesses. This also shows Cayde's more reckless side. He would let the opposite side of the battle damage him just to make a plan of how to block the blow or counterattack. After a battle, it is rarely seen to have Cayde not have any scratches on him or any serious injuries. He also enjoys strong opponents and will always look for a good fight. And if ever loses a fight, Cayde works extremely hard to "catch up" to the person who beat him. He is willing to overwork and injure himself for this purpose. During battle, he displays a more calculating side to him and often wins using tactical approaches.
Background
Cayde was born in Nibelheim and never really got to know the people that lived there. His father happened to be a well known Shinra Troop Leader that would bring his son around the HQ. He would always tell Cayde of how special he was and how the boy would grow up to be something more than even him. No one knew that Cayde's father, Zavala, had been placing his son in Hojo's experiments. Cayde was tested many times and prepped for the SOLDIER program for when he would come of age. Zavala would constantly train his son, pushing him harder and harder whilst also nurturing the personality that Cayde would grow into. Things would eventually change when Cayde would 16 and was brought to live in Midgar close to Shinra HQ.
To make a long story short, Cayde made SOLDIER 1st Class quickly due to the prior experiments and training. He was there for many major battles including the Wutai War where he earned his moniker of The Hound due to his "special" missions in the war. Some deemed him a monster among men whilst his fanclub deemed him a hero. Time would pass and Cayde's reputation to the public would fall more and more as those who hated Shinra, even those that loved them, could only see him a dog following Shinra's every command no matter how sadistic. Though Cayde still made bonds, generating a close friendship with Sigurd Riot, becoming a big brother to Laphicet Kyrielight, and a rival to Astral Diamonia. He is one of the longest reigning SOLDIER 1st Class, The Hound of SHINRA, and only fate can foretell if the Hound will stay loyal or eventually bite the hand that feeds him. If only his father told him the fate of his mother before his death at the hands of a sadist.

= Vanquish is a unique weapon that crosses over a rifle with a sword blade. The rifle part is positioned to allow pinpoint marksmanship whilst the blade is situated right under. Due to how it's made, the rifle part can be fired with one hand, despite the recoil, or held just under the blade by the second hand. Materia slots are placed alongside the chamber of the rifle. Cayde keeps several clips inside his coat that holds 20 shots each.

Judgement - Light forms within the barrel of Vanquish and the weapon starts to tremble from the raw force built up. Cayde will then dash forward with blade at the ready. He will slash through his opponent then do a quick pivot to slice through his enemy again. Lastly Cayde will jump above his still reeling opponent,
point the gunblade downward, grin, and then release the massive light from the barrel; the light causing a large, blinding explosion.
