Looks like people are a little lost on what to do. As the GM has said, everyone is free to work on their own plot devices until the next scenario. I don't want to double-post but I might have to soon :P
Matsuda Takeo

  • Name: Matsuda Takeo
  • Age: 16
  • Personality: Takeo is known to be quite passive, though cheerful and optimistic. He floats through life with a smile on his face, and is quick to help those whom ask. Though despite his friendliness, he is very hard to know, and has an unwillingness to form bonds. He is quiet beyond idle banter, only truly opening up when asked about his work. He is somewhat lazy and often reluctant to go above the minimum of what he is asked, though he will do nearly anything if pressed. He is quick to laugh and soft of voice, and enjoys food more than most.
  • Motive to live: Takeo was selected for the project, and found he could not turn down the offer of working directly with the engineers on his own Framewerk. Part of the bargain demanded he also pilot it to eliminate alien threats to the Earth, but he is ignorant to the true implications of this. In light of this, he fights only because he was asked to.
  • Background: Takeo grew up in an outer-rim planet locked in war with the Cruxi. His parents were killed early into his childhood, and he remembers little of them. He was quickly drafted into helping maintain and repair armed vehicles as a combat engineer, and honed his skills over the years. Though his creations lack polish, they are usually strong and functional, and he is capable of delicate operations in the thick of battle. Just after his sixteenth birthday, Takeo was extracted from his home world and brought to Earth to serve in the Framewerks project.
  • Notable Deaths: Ivan Sparrow - Six months before Takeo was drafted into the Framewerk project, his best friend Ivan was killed in an explosion during a skirmish with the Cruxi. Takeo still blames himself for the event, and it has led to his emotional vacancy and inability to form new friendships.

Framewerk Sheet

  • Framewerk Code Name: Iron Sparrow
  • Appearance:

Iron Sparrow is a crude Frame made of thick, heavy, unpolished gray steel. Dexterity is lost upon it - its legs have little mobility, instead requiring powerful thrusters in the feet to aid in locomotion. Its only marking is a white-blue star on the center of the mask, a symbol Takeo also wears on a cord around his neck.
  • Signature Weapon System: Paladin - Iron Sparrow is equipped with a massive steel blade, connected at the wrist, and a giant kite-shaped shield plate embedded in its back. The blade can retract along the arm, but the shield is stationary. The blade is not very sharp - rather, it crushes foes through sheer force with the aid of the thrusters on the forearms of the Frame. The shield is rudimentary, but its sheer size and thickness allows it to withstand almost anything while Iron Sparrow protects its comrades.
  • Secondary Weapon System: Iron Sparrow contains hundreds of repair drones within itself, allowing minor repairs to other Framewerks. Its own plating is too thick, however, for repair drones to be of any use on itself.
  • Flight-Capability/Thrusters: Iron Sparrow uses thrusters mounted on the wrists and feet for movement. It is quite slow, and to make up for this, Iron Sparrow has the unique capability to equip a device known as an Overbooster thanks to the shield on its back. The Overbooster is planted directly on the shield, and is a massive engine capable of propelling Iron Sparrow linearly at extreme speeds. Once its fuel is depleted, it detaches. This allows Iron Sparrow to punch immediately into enemy ranks, where it can do the most good, but does nothing to help with the Framewerk's otherwise poor mobility.

I realized you did not ask for a personality.

It's not so important, and personality usually comes out in the posts. But you can stick it in the Bio section if you want!

Everyone's accepted so far, profiles are looking good. We have 5 out of 7 needed to start the game. Once we hit 7 I will give the previously interested players a bit of notice to join and then we will start.
Aaaand OOC is up!
GAME STATUS: NIGHT 3

(You are asleep. No actions may be taken at night except through PM.)

DEADLINE: MAY 23 - 3PM GMT

Luc Boivier, the villager, has been murdered!
Reinhold Battista, the sheriff, has been murdered!

Catrina Morris, the killer, has been lynched!
Ruby Sanchez, the villager, has been lynched!

You wake in your bed in the midst of the night, a cold sweat covering your body. It is midsummer in Salem, Massachusetts, and the year is 1632. Salem is a small, budding village, slowly becoming a destination for many settlers. But whoever you are, however you arrived in Salem, you can't help but feel that something is dreadfully wrong tonight, some ominous taste in the air, or how the very essence of the night seems to be carved in blood. Somebody in Salem has died tonight.

Welcome to A Murder in Salem, a roleplay based on the party game Mafia. In this game, each person will be randomly assigned a certain role in the village. The roles fall into two major categories: villagers, and killers. The villagers are attempting to find the killers, voting to hang a player at the end of each day. The killers are attempting to remain hidden while they murder another villager each night. The villagers win if the killers are all hung, and the killers win if they outnumber the villagers.

The game begins at night. The killers will communicate with the GM through PM and vote on who they will kill. They will be given a 24-hour deadline to make this decision. Once a decision has been made, the GM will post describing the death of that villager. Each player will then post in character, describing their reaction to the death, and talking amongst themselves. Posts in this stage will be fast, and one-liners are acceptable. Metagaming in the OOC is also encouraged. Each player will then make a vote on who they think the killer is, or they can vote to hang nobody if they wish. There will be a 24-hour deadline on this as well. The accused will be hung at dusk, and then night will fall once again.

Please note, neither IC or OOC should you ever reveal your role. While this is a roleplay, the point is to win and you cannot win by being honest. You are encouraged to lie and manipulate in order to achieve your goal.

ROLES: Standard Game
Villager - A common civilian. Will attempt to determine whom the killers are, and hang them during the day. Can vote on a single player during each day to hang. Whomever has the majority vote will be hanged at dusk.
Killer - Players whom meet together at night and vote to kill someone in their sleep. Are trying to appear innocent.
Sheriff - A villager whom can secretly investigate a single player each night by PMing the GM. Will know whether or not that player is a killer. Should keep their identity a secret from the killers.
Doctor - A villager whom can secretly visit one player each night by PMing the GM. If that player is attacked by the killers, they will be saved. Should keep their identity a secret from the killers.

If you have any questions, please ask!

I dunno, that nurse has been gone so long I'm certain she's shagging the doctor.
@Animus Yep! We can always add more. We'll start with a basic game, and if everyone wants another round I'll switch up the roles.

I'll have the OOC up tonight and we can start playing as soon as everyone has a character!
Street cred? Cecil thought amusingly. Val's speech was impeccable, and he started to believe it until he realized what she was doing. Playing their drug-induced paranoia against them. Awesome. He turned back to Cameron just in time to witness his eyes widen, and nervously flicker to the kitchen and then back to him.

"Cec? Can you believe this bitch?" Cameron said, but the usual arrogant roughness was gone from his voice. A nervous silence shrouded the rest of Cameron's group, but Cecil realized he had to follow suit to topple the pin that Val had knocked off-balance.

"Yeah," Cecil said, drawing himself up. Cameron was nearly as tall as he was, but as Cecil approached, raising his voice, the other man seemed to shrink back towards the floor. Intimidating. If nothing else, I can do that. "I do believe her. And if you fuckwits don't want to be shitting your cancerous guts out in an hour, I wouldn't touch that food." He made his eyes stern and bared his teeth, trying not to think about the trembling in his knees. If things came to blows, he was not certain he and Val could take on seven other students - especially students with the violent instinct of wild predators.

Cameron froze for several long moments before a cocky grin grew on his face. Cecil relaxed his shoulders when he realized the grin didn't touch the other man's eyes.

"You better watch your fucking mouth next time I see you," Cameron said, gathering the other boys with a twirl of his finger and beginning to walk from the room. "And keep your bitch on a leash." He nodded at Val. "You can keep this shitty foo-"

Cecil stopped the man mid-stride with a heavy hand on his collar. "The keys. Unless you want SWAT taking you down for theft. Aren't you on probation or something?"

Cameron glared back defiantly before turning his pockets out. Several jingles told of the keys falling to the floor. He knocked Cecil back two steps with a heavy shove, then departed behind his friends.

Cecil waited until he could no longer hear their steps in the hall before moving a muscle. He turned to Val, uncomfortably aware of the sweat that had built on his body, but couldn't help a short laugh.

"You're a genius," Cecil said. "But I really hope they figure this thing out before Cameron finds out everyone else is eating the food, and not dying." He swept down, gathering the fallen keys into his palm. I guess the basement is next. With the pair of them suddenly alone once more, the large windows before him struck him with an ominous anxiety. They were pregnant with insurmountable darkness, like peering into death itself, threatening to shatter the thin veil and swallow them whole. Despite his efforts, he was beginning to truly believe that his life was never going back to the way it was.

@Andromeda
@Urbanliner Yeah, but the RPing is minor. You can do whatever you want with it. Generally people make a character, then just talk with the other characters to try and weed out the guilty ones. Character appearance is important because the GM (me) can describe their death in very graphic ways :D

General strategy is for the mafia to pretend to be a different role to make the actual innocent people seem guilty, since there is no way to prove your role.

If you guys don't want to RP, we can put this in a different category and do everything out of character. Up to you though, I figured most people would want to RP since it is an RP forum.

@The Scotsman
So are we in America?

We're in a fictitious country. I'm pretty sure it's open to interpretation. @The Scotsman is in the UK though, so I'd imagine from his perspective the school is based on his own school system.
