Technological Overview:
Thermoelectric Technology - The Khoth have managed to research and create an entire society around Thermoelectric technology. They have been able to take the heat from the world they live on and use it to run their entire operation. The world has more lava below its surface than any other resource.
Sub-Technology from Thermoelectric:
Thermoelectric Sphere Cores - Spheres that can collect heat or a lava-like substance. These spheres can then be transported and moved from location to location without harm or potential damage. The cores must be placed in slots that are designed to pull the heat from the spheres to create energy.
Thermoelectric Weaponry - Weapons are designed to be able to have a small version of a core to be placed into the weapon. This core will immediately charge the weapon and allow it to then fire. The trajectory is quite precise due to some further advances with the weapon systems. If hit by a Khoth weapon, you can expect the feeling to equate to being hit by a ball of lava going 100 mph with residue traces leaving a constant burn and deteriation of life after the hit.
Thermoelectric Shield Technology - A core can be placed into a battle suit, ship, or building. It can then be integrated into the suit, ship, or building defense system if any are available. This will prevent damage done by kinetic objects because the shield will disintegrate the object before impact, reducing its power and impact to dust.
Cultural Overview:
The Khoth are a proud race that can at times be hot tempered. They have large hearts, strong minds, and physical superior attributes. They enjoy competition but also understand cooperation is necessary for success. They are not a militaristic culture but do understand that military and rigorous training is essential to survival and to honor old traditions they still wear the hunter rags of their ancestors when in a battle dress uniform. Khoth are more research minded believe it or not...for the most part, and enjoy strategy over brute strength. They are carnivores and have developed an evolution to the consumption of blood as if it is water. They do not need to drink often but when they do, they must consume 2 gallons of blood and eat large meals.
Their civilization is built on a caste structure, everyone has a role and anyone may pursue their role, but once a role is chosen, often times it is very difficult to switch due to the years of training it takes for someone to master a role. All citizens must master their role or they will become what's considered a "burden". Burdens are not liked and can be treated as if they are nothing more than trash on the street.
History Overview:
Khoth were once a divided race, a race that consistently found itself fighting over small and feeble matters which mainly pertained around who's family lineage was greater than the others. Clans were the normalcy if you were to observe the Khoth. They all marched under different banners, different ways of dressing their bodies and hair, different lineages, strengths, and weaknesses, but ultimately a greater enemy bound them together. The greater enemy forced them to see each other as equals, friends, brothers, and sisters.
In order to face this enemy the Khoth quickly formed the Khoth Covenant. An agreement between all Khoth that they would join as one to repel their new enemy and save their world. The war ended with the Covenant pulling off an underdog victory and destroying the enemies main carrier ships. The Khoth Covenant decided to remain as an understanding that they all knew there would be more enemies just like the one they faced.
200 years would go by and the Khoth would reach a golden age on their planet. They would expand to three other planets and have successfully created and stabilized the colonies which would eventually transform into cities and then reach out into nation-like numbers. Yet still all of the Khoth would remain loyal to their Covenant leaders.
It was during this time however a new threat presented itself. The new threat called themselves the Cabal. A dark unknown enemy that appeared from nowhere and began engaging settlements of the Khoth. The Khoth quickly mobilized and began fighting the enemy back with ferocity and relentlessness. The Khoth were winning but ultimately the Cabal somehow found their way inside the Capital and assassinated the Covenant leaders. Throwing the entire Khoth Covenant into disarray and confusion. Contact was lost between all the cities and settlements, fleets were lost in space, and soon the Khoth society would find themselves enslaved and at a lost.
