Hunting Patrol: the stream, with Sunfur

Pleased that Duskwing seemed to agree with her suggestion, the other she-cat let out a small, quiet purr and mumbled a "good luck" to the patrol leader and her apprentice, before she turned and trotted carefully over the top of the snow to try and find Sunfur. Spidernose headed in the vague direction that they'd seen the tom scurry off in, pausing and opening her jaws to draw in the scents from around them. The she-cat picked up a cocktail of prey scent, mostly the mouse and squirrel Duskwing and Moosepaw had already caught, but further along towards the stream, she did catch the trail of her remaining Clanmate and hurried as fast as she could whilst still keeping her steps light so she wouldn't startle any prey, to catch up with him.

Spidernose emerged just as Sunfur missed the fish, grimacing sympathetically as she floated across the powdery ground to join him. "Bad luck." she mewed, her whiskers twitching. "You're braver than me though, fish are so slippery I can never get half that close to getting my paws on them." she raised her tail to point back in the direction she came, explaining. "Duskwing and Moosepaw are back there, we thought we might have better luck if we split into pairs and fanned out. Any sign of that groundhog, or something else similar? Maybe if we team up we can grab it. I could drive it towards you and you could nab it?" she suggested.

There we go, I'm sorry! I've had a busy day and I think I may be on a different timezone to you guys. Hopefully I got everything, I wasn't expecting so many posts so quickly lol

Hunting Patrol with: Duskwing, Moosepaw, Sunfur

The slender she=cat stretched as she was called to join Duskwing's hunting patrol, moving quietly along to join them. As Duskwing took the lead and led them out into the territory, Spidernose couldn't help but shiver a little under the cold breeze, and chuckle slightly under her breath. Oh, you're cold, Moosepaw? Think how those of us with thinner fur must feel! she thought to herself in amusement, though she didn't want to upset the apprentice by saying it out loud. Her dark ears came forward at Sunfur's suggestion about the groundhog and, very carefully, she picked her way across the snow, trying to ignore the uncomfortably cold feeling of it between her toes, to stand beside him, remaining still and quiet so as not to disturb Moosepaw's attempt at hunting the mouse. "Nice catch, Moosepaw!" Spidernose purred. Sure, his co-ordination could use some work, but with the big and bulky build that he had, she wasn't surprised he was having some problems with that.

A thought occurred to her, then, and she turned to look across at Duskwing and voice it to see what the patrol leader thought of it. "Perhaps we should split off? Not go too far away of course, but say two of us go in one direction, and the other two in another." she suggested thoughtfully. "We'd be able to cover some more ground and maybe catch more prey that way. Or perhaps we should see if we can get another groundhog? That'd feed quite a few cats..."

Name: Spidernose
Gender: She-cat
Age: 26 moons

Personality: Spidernose is a determined, no-nonsense cat with a bit of an abrasive side. She can be blunt, but she only wants what is best for her Clan, she doesn't mean to be stand-offish but sometimes comes off that way when she is lost in her work, however if a Clanmate came to her with a concern she would treat it with the utmost care and compassion until it was resolved.

Appearance: A skinny, long-legged she-cat with cream fur and dark brown points, Spidernose's fur is sleek and short, her appearance calling back to her father's kittypet roots a lot more strongly than her sister's. Her eyes are a piercing blue, and often seem to stare straight through someone very critically.

Backstory: Born as "Spider" to a loner mother and a wandering kittypet father - who, although he cared for the she-cat, could not always be there for her due to his housefolk sometimes shutting him away - Spider was the oldest in her litter of two, with one other sister. Her mother, young and naive, had conceived too close to winter and the result was very nearly a disaster for her two kits. She did her best to try and keep them fed and warm, but doing so alone became a real struggle. When she heard of WillowClan, Spider's mother quickly sought refuge with the Clan and asked them to take in her kits. She was too used to life alone to leave her life as a loner behind and join the Clan, and Spider's sister found staying continually in one place too stifling as well and soon followed her mother to return to a loner's life. Spidernose isn't sure where her littermate went after that as she presumably went to carve out a territory of her own, though she kept in close contact with her mother who is currently living somewhere as a loner, in the area surrounding WillowClan's territory. She will always be an ally to the Clan and has a kind word for any of the cats should they happen to run into her on their travels. Spidernose took to Clan life very well, and is as dedicated a warrior as any, considering WillowClan her home. A few moons ago her mother sought out WillowClan again, she had had another litter with Spidernose's father and yet again brought another kit to them in order to strengthen the Clan, little Frogkit, who seems to take great delight in irritating her big sister and anyone else in the camp whenever possible.

@savannahssu absolutely, don't be discouraged! That's four people all together now and to be honest, that's a decent amount to get started with!! I once had an entire Warriors roleplay run for a good 3 or 4 years with only 2 other players and myself the GM (we started with a bunch more but all but those 2 ended up dropping out for various reasons). It's still very doable! :D
