The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

So is there anyone who is vehemently opposed to this then among us? It saves the party just that much longer for however deep this cave winds in terms of valuable, limited resources, and only comes at the cost of potential combat. We thwarted one patrol and can be ready for the next, meaning unless they are very coordinated - unlikely for kobolds, even with mercenary leaders - the odds are they will not be able to approach from multiple angles. A risk, yes, but a greater risk to spend our few abilities we do have with no telling what else is down the cave's depths.
It is news to none that while I am not fond of dogs, merely tolerating their existence, I see why people are so enamored with them. There are few things with such naive, childlike optimism and energy as the dog, and fewer things yet that has no other purpose in life but to serve man. While I regard this as a massive and disappointing departure from their ancestor in the wolf, such a creature I see why people fawn over; humans cannot help but bond with such a thing. I am still of the opinion that whatever made the wolf respectable was lost in that progression to what is the dog.

Chapter I
"With each cut into the trunks of the palms with your crude hand-knife, you are content in having a better assessment and surveying of your path. While it will not lead you directly back to your hovel on the beach, it will certainly get you to the safety of the shoreline should something dangerous in the tropical wilds confront you. Thoughts of dark jungles with howling apes, roaring cats, vile insects, and dangerous serpents abound in your thoughts for a moment but your rationality confronts you that you have seen no such animal of any variety at all, for better or worse. This troubles you, however, more than it relieves you but you cannot name why. A deserted island is deserted after all, is it not? Just why should there be animals? Is your own mind playing tricks upon you once again?"

"Wandering again through the undergrowth and humid wood, you claw into various trunks your mark before pausing to observe the sun. High above you now, noontime or at least closer to it, you realize that you do indeed need sustenance perhaps more than anything. While water appears plentiful, lack of animals and questionably edible plants pose a problem of their own, as does nightfall. The subtle shiver that courses down your spine makes you shake your head away from the thoughts that attempt to rise up from your depths..."
So I suppose that comes down to are we or are we not taking a short rest? Those who are not injured could well set up a counter-attack for anything that comes wandering or lurking but if we rush, we will need expend our very finite resources with no idea just how much further the cave goes for the group. We haven't a way to safely scout through it either, not as with Torus' familiar. Given the ambush could be set and a short rest is not realistically that long a period of time, and we are starting to dip into resources, that is my vote. If we use what we have now we might find our party stuck deeper in the cave without anything versus suffer potentially another attack.
In this vein, I too have been exposed to oleoresin capsicum sprays and unlike that of the aforementioned gas chambers too, it was significantly worse in every regard. It does create the appreciation of not being sprayed and the caution needed for its employment. As a bonus fact, I do indeed still have my card from that day.
Seems we are missing but one then now as to what the approach will be and what is being done post battle. @Ryonara, have you anything for us? It has been a few days.
In a related vein to @Gunther's recounting, I have witnessed persons attempt to don protective masks without the filters, then question why they cannot breathe. For some reason one wonders why I haven't the highest of hopes or belief in humanity.

My appreciation for certain aesthetics never seem to change, even many years later.
It matters not how much I sleep truthfully, I do always prefer to sleep more. The world of dreams always calls with its looming haze beckoning, off to live lives many times over yet again. The waking world often comes to be far less exciting in contrast.
I still await to hear back on who needs healing, as in their Hit Dice are completely expended during the short rest or rolled very poorly. Brannor has but 15 points of healing he can provide and will retain some for an emergency, say someone is downed in a fight, but that still provides 10 or so hit points that can be distributed.
