Overlord: Momento Mori

Regrettable as it is to say, I don't think that its especially feasible to run this rp now that about half the cast has left. I greatly appreciate the effort that you all have put forward, and I loved the diversity of characters that we had, but I've come to realize the inherent flaws in running an Overlord rp like this and I don't think I have the GMing skill to overcome them.

I apologize sincerely for ending it like this, but I guess its my fault anyways for not updating before my finals weeks. I wish you all the best.

"...ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT!?" Vani all but screamed after seeing the demon-beast-slime-dog-good-boy-Carpenter engulf the scout's head, causing the paladin to cringe at the sight. Was it eating him alive!? Was it sucking out his brains!? Was it...mating with his mouth!? He had no idea, and frankly had no taste for murder. As such, he would approach and, using the pommel of his sword, deliver a swift blow to the man's stomach in order to knock him out.

Vani would turn back to Annabelle, remembering that before all that mess happened that she'd called him "Sir Paladin". It wasn't an incorrect title for one of peasantry but...it felt so...unearned. Even Vani knew that he wasn't all THAT grand to be called by a double title, as if he was the epitome of Paladin-ness. Clearing his throat, Vani would say: "While I appreciate your respect, my name is Vani Silvergrove. So...Sir Silvergrove suits me just fine."

"...Actually, no, wait, no, just call me Vani. Let's keep moving," Vani said, giving the shadow beast a wiiiiide berth after seeing it head-crab a man.

Summoners Confuse Paladins

...Well, Vani at least knew that he wasn't the only one with a concussion now.

Either that or this was the most confused girl that he'd ever met in his life. Did she get raised by a father with huge pecs, and she just assumed that her's were soft? Vani's dad was allergic to shirts, so he could kind of see where she was coming from if he stretched whatever minuscule gray matter he had still operating at 100% capacity after that blow to his noggin. Approaching the clearly confused girl, Vani would have a concerned, yet somewhat impatient look to his face as he said:

"Hey, Listen, I know that you're kind of in the middle of...something, but we've gotta-" he said, before hearing the sounds of movement. And saw a fairy pop out of thin air. And saw a mass of shadow and red-gunk turn into a dog. ...Vani was really starting to wonder if he'd ever woken up from that blow to the head. But until he knew otherwise, the paladin would draw his sword, bringing up the front position alongside the black-haired girl with her...dog-thing marching to the east. "...So, hello, Paladin here, just letting you know that if we make it out alive, I will not judge you at all for having a shadow...beast...thing. ...Not in the market for debating what's heretical today after fighting an old man that wore bones as armor," he said, adjusting his sword in his hand, holding his dented shield at the ready as they walked.

Admittedly, Vani couldn't help from stealing an occasional glance at the black-haired spellsword. ...Why were most female adventurers so attractive? Is this where all the pretty girls from his village went? To go running around in armors of various degrees of effectiveness and contracting demons? ...Was this why the High Templar didn't want him going out so soon for random gallivanting for adventure? If so...Vani was glad that he did leave early.

He was surprised by the confused girl uncertain of her gender that was marching so...quickly in shoes like that. Vani had to jog just to catch up with her pace...all the while wondering if she was with the group that the Fairy Summoner and the woman who healed him were in. Doing simple mental math, Vani deduced that Locke as the only male in the party must have somehow seduced a number of women adventurers into his party, and used some manner of magic to bind them to his will. He totally wasn't jealous of him being surrounded by beautiful and exotic women. Not at all.

Goblin Slayer: Newblood (CANCELLED)

...Well...that was certainly the worst send-off that the Steppe Archer could have expected for their work. Aside from just outright not paying them and possibly threatening them, of course. ...Maybe it was just because of the callous disregard that the old farmer had for the woman's corpse, but part of the nomad wanted to chew him out. ...But, she knew that was just the way of the world. She was used to a close-knit tribe that looked out for one another and avenged the injuries of one another, whereas out in this "civilized" world, it wasn't your problem if someone else died if they weren't close. It disgusted her to a degree, but so did the man in general. Sure, weeping over every corpse wasn't productive, but the man's pacifism was less than productive. It was harmful to him and everyone else, since they could very well be the next roadside accident.

Sighing after he left, Steppe Archer fiddled with her bow, checking to make sure the string was taut and that her arrows were accounted for. Adjusting the sword at her hip, the nomad girl would smile, saying: "I'm all ready. Be careful in there though; Goblins come out at night. So they can probably see really well in dark places," she said, putting on her smile once more. ...Bravery be damned, she was going to do SOMETHING about what happened to that woman on the roadside.

Okay, so my exams have finished and now I can resume posting for this as usual. But, I did wanna take a real quick survey to just gauge how much interest people still have vested in this. Naturally, any rp is bound to flop a bit after a two week hiatus from the GM, and I wanted to see where we stood in terms of players that are still interested.

Hey you, you're finally awake! You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into an Imperial Ambush.

"Nn...fi'more'minus..." the unconscious paladin would grumble as the wounds on the back of his head were tended, his probable concussion becoming improbably fixed via magic. Consciousness was a tender mistress, and it constantly flitted away from Vani in spite of his efforts to stay awake. First there was screaming, then a whole lot of talking, and now Vani was slowly opening his eyes to the sight of a buxom girl squishing the cheeks of another girl. ...Woah. That was...

"Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice~" he thought to himself. He understood. He had very clearly died and gone to a fitting afterlife courtesy of Lolan. An afterlife filled with women of various sizes and shapes to attend to him. He almost believed it for a second, were it not for the throbbing headache that assaulted his consciousness the moment he awoke. ...And, y'know. The sausages present at the party.

His expression went from a dopey smile to a heavy grimace, which quickly returned to neutral as he realized that he'd just been saved. Looking up at the brown-haired woman who he could only assume had been healing his cracked noggin, Vani smiled, saying: "Thanks for fixing my head up. ...Guess this is why I got yelled at in training for not wearing a helmet." The elf would slowly raise his body from the ground, a throbbing ache still present that felt like a mix of mild skull-thrashing and wounded pride as Vani finally realized...he'd screwed up and just slowed his Lizard-partner down as well as the gahanagohnga elf that had already stuck her neck out for them. Scratching his head above the spot that was caked in dried blood, Vani would stand up and finally start taking in what was going on. Okay... so...

There was the girl that looked far too young to have honkers that big. And according to the man with the strangely punchable looking face some gigantic light had given away their position. His lizard-pal was stating that he was ready to go, which was good enough for Vani as he placed a hand on his sword's pommel, smiling. "Frankly, I have absolutely no idea what's going on. But, if the star's been found, might as well get on out of here," he said, looking to Serafaye and having absolutely no idea who she was or what race she was. ...In fact, he literally only knew two people here. Buuut...now was not the time for explanations. Instead, the paladin would simply trust that they'd either lost at finding the star first, or that the Lizard and their High Elven friend had managed to locate it and the rest were stragglers. Either way, he was assuming that he'd probably have to argue really hard for even getting 10% of the cut when he had to be dragged all the way here.

Micro update to say: Still doing finals because I thought that they'd all be in one week like usual but instead they're semi-spread out across the previous week and this week. Sorry for the continued delay guys.
