Faction Characters

The Unbrudened

Albatross - The mysterious figurehead of the Unburdened. Propaganda depicts him as and older man with his left arm in a sling. Very little is known about this man or his real motivations; only that he aims to unite the Burdened and end their suffering.

Avant Garde

Liliana Wilson - Leader and "President" of the Vanguard. Hailed as the next Natalie Durlin, Wilson fights for the the end of DERB and UNO's legacy, the resurgence of liberty and democracy, and the reclamation of humanity's lost cities. She is a charismatic young woman, but is often chided for her naivete and reckless idealism.

Disaster and Emergency Response Bureu (DERB)

Alberto Melioda - General of the DERB remnants and head of its council. Many see him as an aging relic of the past, still obsessed with UNO's ideals of control through military might. To some degree, he does try to carry on the UNO mantle but also recognizes that the rules of the old world do not apply. Although he leads the enigmatic "committee", he often tends to butt heads with them.

The Committee - The only thing resembling an executive government in the DERB, this council has the final say on most decisions and actions taken by the military remnant. They are an assortment of military officers and advisers that help guide the DERB from the shadows.

Supporting Characters

Dave - Little is known about this witty scavenger, except that he has successfully shown Zephyr (Lord of Map-making) that RP "shipping" can be entertaining.

Jacob's Crew - A group of men and/or women that accompany Jacob on his journeys. Ron is one of the guards, and is not too fond of Burdened.

Cassandra - A dead harlot with information on whoever Icarai is chasing. She liked it... rough. (I'm going to hell.)

Vince - A member of Tobias's Vanguard cell.

John Wetty - Mayor and proprietor of Asylum and its main "industry". As an albino, he is sensitive about both his eyesight and appearance. His left hand man is a brute named Goy (and his right is probably Koil). Another minion of his is named Tyus.

Ryan's Squad - Voyagers lead by a man named Ryan. Ian is currently a new member and knows none of their names.

Derrick - Young member of Azra's Vanguard cell. His only action so far has been getting angry, then crying. I wonder how his character arc will end?

My world map is done and up. No bad for MS Paint and a trackpad.

CS thread will be up in a few minutes and then I will do some SIP and tech descriptions. Probably wont get much done tonight though. Tomorrow evening imma get shit done for reelz, including finishing lore-related stuff and our local map. I decided on the location being in the general area of UNO's old capital, Legas, because plot.

Speaking of plot, we need some bitches up in here.

In making my map, I realized that I lied Beowulf when answering his first question: The RP begins on Ortus, the eastern-most continent, and not Occas, the western-most one. That being said, I also stated in my pre-revision Obit summary that the SIP were near Occas, but they are indeed Ortusan islands. The issue came from my naming: Ortus and Occas are modified forms of the Latin words for "rise" and "set" (the sun rises in the East and sets in the West). I mixed them up because I had initially listed the continents from left-to-right as "Ortus, Meda, Occas" and imagined them in that order on a map. So, that's fixed on my map.

Speaking of the map, I will have 2: One for the Pre-Hail world and another for a map of our area in the RP.

Funnily enough, I got less done Tuesday than I have been getting done on my working days. I ended up becoming extremely busy with RL stuff today, but I am positive Thursday will be different. The map is halfway-ish done, and I refuse to do anymore this morning because I am sick of drawing with a trackpad and I am near passing out. Sorry if my content-adding speed has been slow: I'm starting to get burnt out on writing pure exposition and I've received only two CSs so far. A slow start unfortunately.

"What kind of story" is sort of a vague question that's hard to answer. My plan is to basically drop our characters into the world while I drive RP events forward. There is not one linear story planned out, although I do have several arcs in mind. The idea is to make the story character-driven, but it would work way better with more people.

It drives me insane that there are seemingly dozens of people on the site that simply float around and state interest in RPs without ever joining any. Their activity histories are a handful of interest check posts spanned over three months. One could argue that some of them are just making comebacks recently, but almost every RP I have started has had at least three such people with the same background. They artificially inflate the amount if interested users, so, believing it's appropriate begin the roleplay in earnest, I make an OOC that only ends up with a small handful of members. I have to repeat the recruiting process, but more desperately this time since the ship is barely staying afloat and it's infuriating. If you're going to be a Roleplayer Guild member, ROLEPLAY!

If focus was more on technology and not destruction, I'd assume there would be a lot of people who have had their genes ruffled with. Of course, with the apocalypse being around, you would probably have to be pretty rich to receive any.

I'm not sure I want to play with genetic augmentation too much. "Designer babies" would probably be a thing, but not very common, but that's probably it. The warless age lasted for only fifty years, and UNO would likely regulate more "morally questionable" technology. If such modification were a thing, it would likely only be practiced on the Islands.

Sorry I'm late on my almost-promise for a map and CS thread. The map is in progress and the CS thread is kinda still pointless at the moment. On the bright side, I'm 90% sure Beowulf and Kyle are the only ones planning to actually participate, so I'm not keeping a lot of people waiting. Wait, that isn't really a bright side. Shit. *RECRUITING!*
