If we are going off from WW1 relations.

France and Russia were friends, against Germany. Japan and Russia were on very good terms even though they had a prior fight like a decade or two before that.
Japan was also teamed up with France, Russia, Britain, and other European nations during WW1.

WW1 = the majority of European countries hating the Great Roman Empire (Germany) for practically no reason.

I have honestly no idea what the level of relations between any of these countries ought to be in this reality. I’ve been operating off of real world WW2->Cold War logic for most of my data for the boss, and with a magical Imperial Japan I can only estimate that global relations are ‘tense’ in a broad sense, but not necessarily ‘hostile’, because this Japan is a little scary.

On a schoolyard level, I highly doubt Millie will be the one receiving Gamer Speech lmao.

If we are going off WW2 relations, your character is gonna be a little racist towards mine and they are going to mutually agree they do not like each other though they willingly signed a nonaggression acted so they are like "love and hate" relationship type of deal. Everything is mutual. The amount of love and hate they will give each other.

And my other character, Alpheus and yours will have a very robust and progressive relationship. Their countries have been friends practically for centuries.

Millie is either going to make this man's anger lead to a nuclear explosion or they will actually get along. I have no idea which it will be or possibly both? That would be a wild ride. I feel like she would enchant him and that would be the end of it. He would go off on her.

***Been digging a bit too much into history to try to think up something fun for a noble character with a backstory from Scandinavia, whether it be Sweden, a modern Kalmar Union type thing, or Norway or Denmark or otherwise. Maybe a bit too much digging into history and 'famous noble families' and such things thus far, but I can say the somewhat lengthy gist of what I'm working on for an idea for a noble at least:

"A young scion, a sickly prince or higher noble, with pale hair and pale skin. Often has to walk with a cane, or deals with a slight hunchback, or is just weak and sickly in general because that'd be easier to find a picture for 'maybe' (Note: It isn't, somehow, for me at least.).

He is either the bearer of a large number of curses, or a familial curse, and this all ties back to actions his ancestors took during the 'Christianization of Scandinavia' basically. Killed or did some notably bad things to worshippers of the 'Old Gods', and it led to a strange event where either an angry magic user of old blood (or strange man with one eye who was never seen or heard from again) placed a curse upon them for their actions in the end. A curse that bound the grudges, pain, ache, fury, and so forth of those slain and suffering due to those ancestors to the bloodline, and that it would afflict them every single generation.

Being nobles, the family can't just let themselves die off, but the curse does end up having certain conditions and a deceptive simplicity in its wording that means just 'adopting' isn't going to get around it either. Thus, of course, this character is born the latest in the bloodline to inherit the curse as the one of his parents' children to do so.

From here? It depends on how the family has handled it as to how his life might have been thus far. If they care about him, or have just been using him to 'contain' the curse in a cruel sense of self-preservation. Etc.

Personality-wise? He is intended to be a stoic, as well as generally polite and cordial and formal enough in social situations, person who has learned to handle a lot of pain and matured more in some sense at least due to the suffering of his own life. A sort who looked in the mirror at home, or wherever he was living at a family estate of sorts, and saw the 'visage of a corpse' due to his health struggles in life thus far, and became stoic and grim a bit pessimistic due to this and with regards to how he carries himself. At the same time, he is someone who values honesty and straightfowardness over flowery language, proper action and merit over mere empty words and flashy titles, and is a genuinely kind-hearted person who seeks to be genuinely considerate of those he cares about and for. As a student he is superb, noted as a 'young child genius' from a young age by his prior educators as his innatue sense of curiosity and superb personal diligence/industriousness were honed incredibly in compensation for his weak body and overall sickly health status. A young scholar and mage of a noble, one who gleaned some particular magical skill to the point of being a 'veritable savant' in this specific area by the time he goes to the Academy....and overall has better mental skills than physical ones for certain.

Certainly a fair share of weaknesses, physical mostly but also mental naturally, but still a standout student who could've gotten a scholarship there perhaps if the Academy had such a thing. "

***Meanwhile, for a knight character? Not as much research done into that as of yet, but I have some basic concepts in mind for one. In either case of the two concepts, though, it is a female knight of sorts. So with that in mind:

"The first of the concepts is a knight who is German, and her family is a wealthy and knightly-blooded family of lower nobility who became powerful over time. They became powerful by taking the folklore concept of a "Freishutz" of legend, and originally used to control the production of magical bullets for earlier firearms. Politically they tried to keep 'neutral' to maximize business, but always sought to be amicable with the ruling party of Germany/HRE as well. However, going into modern times, and as firearms and bullet changed to mass production, they had to water down their 'original product' to a mass-producible yet still-quality enchanted product. They also became more 'modern' in some ways, but the fact they've survived and become a 'quiality german producer' among the nobility I feel would be a cool background.

The second of the two concepts is someone who is either Portugese (maybe with tarot magic or something else), or is French (maybe knowing some cool alchemy or such? hmmm)."

Personality:A young man that has two faces. Illarion only shows who he is currently, Illarion, the perfect son of the Russian royal family. The adoptive son that they could have never asked for but only wished for in their dreams. Someone who stands proudly, silently, and observantly over everyone. Someone who wants to continue the reign of the royal family and their powerful reign over the Northeastern Asian continental area.

The young man is someone who comes off as icy, cold, and calculated. An individual who thinks before he reacts but he isn't perfect like he tries to show. He can have a temper, a temper that can boil as cold as liquid ice. Illarion can be extremely cold, so cold, that he will pretend you do not even exist once you get on his nerves. In his eyes, it is better to pretend you don't exist instead of entertaining you.

Everyone might think the future king of Russia is a very cold young man. A robot in a sense. He's not. He has a hidden heart, the hidden heart of a child who needed to change. Illarion can be very sweet when he wants to be and sometimes when he feels like he needs to be. He does have a heart but he hates showing it. Its weakness in his eyes to have a heart, a heart that aches for others, and causes him more pain than any physical wound that he has ever endured. On the rare occasions that someone might be caught in the sweetness of this icy young man, they shouldn't shut him down, or he will take that rejection as personally as he can. He can be very petty and he won't be quiet about it if he feels like he's pushed into the corner.
Habits: Smoking, picking at his teeth with a toothpick/always having one in between his lips, chewing gum, always fiddling with something in his hands, glaring at people as if they are stupid, and observing people.
Hobbies: Working out/training, hockey, snowboarding, dancing, competitive little tidbits, knitting/crocheting, observing people (from far away, without talking to them), and having "a little fun" on how he puts it.
Fears: Being a failure of a son, not living up to his parent's expectations, not being a good enough brother, terrified of emotional pain (it's worse than physical wounds to him), and losing god's blessings.
Likes: Quiet and peace. Working on himself and making himself better. Salty tastes. Enjoys pickled foods. Sitting somewhere for hours and letting himself wander his mind, thinking. Dancing. Having a little bit of fun.
Dislikes: People knowing he can be a sweetheart and kind, knowing he has a heart under the icy cold exterior, sugar/sweet things, people in general, people that don't live up to what he sees in them, and lazy people who do not want to better themselves.

Talents & Powers

• Holy Rain of Fire (Power/Minor): This is not a power that the Russian royalty hold and Illarion is the only one to be known with it. He assumes his birth family has this conjuration ability, though he knows nothing about them.
  
  This ability allows Illarion to call to the gods he prays to and a hollow circle that entraps him and anyone else in it occurs. Fiery white and blue flames will trap whoever is within a diameter of 25 feet. It allows Illarion to trap others into battle within the tighter space but it will also harm him if he touches it.
  
  The fire that rains down will hurt anyone who tries to come in or out of the circle, even the caster. It will produce up to fourth-degree burns on the individuals. It lasts about five to ten minutes, there has never been a pattern in its ending though Illarion assumes it might be due to his own resilience while fighting.
  
  He can only cast this once every forty-five minutes. A quick prayer from Illarion is what casts this ability.

History

Parents: Adoptive, Russian Royalty. King Yulian and Queen Anushka
Siblings: Inna (sister, 13), Arisha (sister, 10), Yeva (sister, 6), and Katia (sister, 4).
Childhood:
Illarion was in an orphanage somewhere in Russia rotting away like every other forgotten child. Unknown to him, the royal family was struggling to produce any children. They struggled for years before Yulian and Anushka decided that they were going to adopt. It might have been shallow though Anushka wanted to adopt Illarion because he was "pretty" and "talked well" compared to the other children. Yulian wanted to adopt him because he looked like he would grow to be strong and how he held himself even in the face of strangers. They appreciated how rounded he was even though he had limited education and an unstable life.

The royal family adopted Illarion when he was only eight years old and they changed his name from Desya to Illarion after one of the royal ancestors. It was odd having to change his name, but he shrugged it off because he knew it was for the better. Changing what and who you were to begin to fit a narrative. Make your adoptive parents proud, make them wish they could never ask for a better son, and work the hardest they can to stay in their good graces and be blessed by their gods.

A handful of years later, Anushka conceived and they had a serious talk with Illarion, informing him that if they had a son he would be moved off the table. He gracefully and respectfully informed them that he understood. That his opinion about the king and queen wouldn't change and that he would love his younger siblings. They were so proud of their son's response and thanked him dearly. Each child that had been announced caused anxiety in Illarion because he wanted to be selfish, he wanted to be the only son, and he prayed to the gods for some form of pity. For some grace. For the king and queen to never produce a male heir. That he was their heir and they didn't need anyone else. That he would make them all proud and he would continue practicing the religion of his adoptive parents if these prayers were heard.

Each child was a girl till they informed everyone that they were not going to have anymore. That night, Illarion fell to his knees beside his bed and prayed to the gods above. He thanked them for their blessings. The young man burned rosewood and a few other offerings to the gods to show his thanks that they saw him fit to be the future leader of the motherland.
Adulthood One day, hopefully.
Special moments: Being adopted and given a loving and loyal family to call his own.
Current events: Informed that he is officially next in line for the throne with a price. Illarion has to learn how to be humble, continue to be reserved, show level-headedness, and prove that he can serve others before he can serve his country which is why he has enrolled in the school as a knight. His father also challenged him to not show his "temper" unless there was good reason for it as long as possible. Hoping that his son can not explode on people for no reason as he has in the past for not being as efficient and hoping this forces Illarion to see the world in the sense of other people's perspectives.
