Name: Grim Segador ( Or Whatever fits him for the time)
Age:Several Millennia
Supernatural Race: Psychopomps
Ethnicity/Race: American
Personality:
Grim is a incredibly cynical individual, still with a soft side for his work. As a human, he blends in as much as physically as possible and has a 'cover' life that he lives. Being around since the dawn of known time, he has an amazing way with words. He also has a very strange set of codes and standards him and his brothers share, very similar to the way humans have had in times past. When dealing with other supernatural entities he can come off as challenging to the ones that act arrogant, disrespectful, or rash to him, his kind, or Humans. Mostly due to his firm belief that he is a part of life itself while others are just abominations made by ungodly beings or Humans themselves.
History:
In the beginning of the human existence( or at least when they were first conceived the notion of having a soul) the Psychopomps were born. They were entities not seen or heard by all but the most gifted humans. They also cannot be 'killed' only locked away or casted out from anything for a few seconds or a few millennia, depending how they were locked away and how many others share the same purpose. At first they vastly outnumbered the human population and many of them did not know their purpose, including Grim. Wandering aimlessly around the world until their purpose was awakened. As the human population grew and began to cover the world, more and more of the Psychopomps would 'remember' their purpose of existence. They all shared one goal, to guide and protect the Dead or dying's souls as they prepared to enter the afterlife. While they know this purpose they have no true idea what the afterlife is or any known gods or even the existence of legendary entitys that Human dogma has created. For they are not demons or spiritual beings, they are a part of life.
Death. Many of Psychopomps have forms as they see fit, some only having the form their dying client would want to see death as. Humans have made many of these Psychopomps frightening spirits or demons, due to the natural fear of death all humans share, but this is isn't any further from the truth. As they are in no way evil. Other mystical creatures are partial to blame for the misunderstanding of Psychopomps, as some take evil forms similar to how they are described to take human souls to fuel there powers. This is where Grim comes in.
Grim's purpose is known by his brethren as one of the most important and carry the most burden. His purpose was founded in the earlier years of the Medieval Period of humans, after the creation of 'Black magic' or any magic not naturally given to Humans. Grim's purpose is to the hunt down the Humans who use Black Magic to kill humans, this is known as a great crime in the codes of the Psychopomps as it is causes unnatural death by a creature who was born by natural causes. The second part to this purpose is to hunt down Humans that prolong their life by Black magic, breaking another code as trying to cheat a natural part of life, that being Death. The final part of his Purpose is to end all humans that try to ascend into some other form using Black magic, as the Psychopomps do not recognize any spiritual beings, all other creations are abominations of humans fooled by their thirst for power.
Grim will double as a human to get close to the Human in question. His natural gut instinct will naturally lead him to these that use Black magic, but sometimes this is not always true. So in response he collect as much information as possible on the Human before rendering judgement. Recently he has heard news from his brethren that many supernatural occurrences are happening in the city of Gravette. Recently setting up a home and temporary life here to find out if Human's are the ones to blame.
Grim is not limited to fighting just users of Black magic. It is the natural born right of every being to defend their lives. As death by a predator or opponent is just as natural as any death. If he in confronted by any humans or creature who may try and challenge him, he will not break any codes in harming or killing them. Although it is Grim's personal opinion to not take the soul of any that are not within grounds of his purpose.
Powers:
Human Form- When he is wanted to be seen by all, he may turn himself to a human. The face and shape being as he desires and may change it in any given time, but the Human will always be a Man and dressed in an all black suit. As a human he has super strength, senses, and regenerative abilities. Although he may not harm any normal Human in this form or knowingly cause harm, due to it breaking the codes of unnatural cause.
Reaper Form- This form is the one that strike fear in his enemies and allies alike. Grim takes the true image as the
Grim Reaper. His sickly grey body is wrapped in bandage and covered in a cloak. A dark empty hole replaces his face that hides under his hood. When he is in a relaxed form he is hunched over and moves slow, leaving a black fog trail in his wake. When he is engaged with his Prey he stands tall to an almost 8 foot length. He moves with supernatural speed and contains the strength of twenty men, or so he boasts.
Undying- Grim cannot truly die, but can be locked and casted away. To be casted away, he must be subjected to any of his weaknesses. In human form, he also cannot die to any natural cause, but if Magic is used on his Human Form he is reverted to his true form and open for all to see that have witnessed his human form take damage.
Unseeing - In his true form he cannot be seen by humans that don't have an affinity or gift to see his kind. He can only interact with inanimate objects and may not interact with a living being unless they have seen him. The only way to see him is through the power of Magic, to actually accept his presence, or he willingly reveals himself. He can be hidden again if the human accepts his presence as leaving or is cast away.
Telekinesis- Can only used when wielding
PurgatoryNether Beam- Death magic that fires a Beam of Deathly energy. Can only used when wielding
PurgatoryIntangibility- Can only used when wielding
PurgatoryDeath- Can only be used when his target is defeated. He calls chains of an unknown origin that wrap around the Victim's soul and pull him and Grim into the Passageway.
Weapons:
Purgatory- The weapon mostly wielded by Grim. This Black staff is created by Death Magic and forged from the 'Tree of life', the head of the staff is shaped into three large curved Raven talons. It gives him the ability to caste his Death Magic. The weapon can also be used to block black magic, but still a drainage to his life force.
The Reaper- The weapon imagined by most humans when his kind or his name is mentioned. This long bladed Black Scythe is created by the life force of Grim. It contains no magic and contains no special properties to it. The weapon is only used when Death Magic is useless or in close calls. It mostly used when the his
Death power is in effect. The Weapon has no true length as it's staff can extend and collapse at will, making it a very unpredictable weapon.
Weaknesses:
Magic: Like all natural creatures of life, Grim is weak to magic. While conventional weapons do nothing, but scatter and disrupt his form, Magic will damage him. Normal magic is the weakest to him, Black magic could become a threat, while White Magic is the most deadly to him. It is unknown to him why White magic is dangerous to him as he is not an evil entity. He assumes it is dependent on the user and their personal beliefs of him and his kind. Any weapons enhanced with any of these magic's can also cause damage to him.
Spiritual Devices or Objects: Any item, Idols, symbols, or books that are involved in Religious Human Dogma is poisonous to Grim and his kind. The reason is also unknown to him, but he thinks that it empowers the idea of his kind being evil, which means it also is dependent of the user and the Dogma that the item portrays.
Life Force: This is the closes thing his kind has to 'life'. It is essentially the energy that flow within each of his kind, as they do not need to sleep, eat, breath, or be harmed by natural physical means. The amount depends on the individual and usually is linked to their purpose. It is possible for his kind to use their powers and waste away their life force, self casting themselves away.
Stance: Oblivious
