@Blizz I just want to say that I know you because of my sister and that you need to up your grammar up in the IC (I don't care about OOC) because from what she told me it's not casual level and this RP is officially going to be in the casual section rather than free. If you think you can do that it's cool and I'll reserve Azurite for you now but if not I might not accept.
@urukhai Of course it's alright! Which gem do you want? As long as it's not a Diamond, pre-existing gem and one that doesn't have a colour too similar to the others in the RP it should be fine.
@RhineQueen I just looked at the CS. ManoftheNorth PMed me about a day or two earlier and asked if Moonstone could have a rapier so you'll have to change that. I'm also confused about the powers because there's not much written on how they work and their limitations and I'm not sure what you mean by 'short range blink teleport'. And the writing example is too short and I don't feel I can judge it well enough with what was written. Everything else is good.
Alright you guys. Until the OOC is finished here's a character sheet for you guys to get started with. Also you don't have to read all the 'Info' hiders except for the ones with stars beside them '*'.
Name:
(The gemstone you gem is. Include nicknames if you want eg; How Rose Quartz and Lapis Lazuli call themselves 'Rose' and 'Lapis' for shot. No 'human' names for gems please that is a big pet peeve of mine.)
Origin:
Basically are they from Earth's Kindergarten or Homeworld
Age:
Remember that though gems generally live very long lives that this is before the rebellion, so your gems don't need to be over 5000+ years old if you don't want them to. If you do that's okay.
Gender:
Because I allow gender-neutral and male games. Feel free to disagree with me but Rebecca never explicitly said that all gems express themselves as females and they don't technically have genders anyways.
Alliance:
Crystal Gems, Homeworld, neutral...other?
Appearance:
Can be written or picture. I don't care if it's anime or whatever. Include the gem location and maybe a photograph of the gem if you want.
Writing example:
Now this one might seem kind of weird but hear me out. I think it's better to write an example of your character doing something rather than describe their personality because a) we tend to change it anyways through development or not b) it shows us how they actually think and stuff c) I can see how you write and if you can portray your characters traits in actual writing versus telling me how they're like. The writing example can be first or third person (if you like first person here's your chance to use it because third-person only in the RP), as long as it focuses on your character. Don't give too much description to the setting, we mostly want to see how your characters acts/thinks/etc. Two paragraphs at least.
Fatal Flaw:
Though I say no personality needs to be described here tell us the one trait your character has that makes their life a lot harder and one that will probably not go away. A 'core' trait if you will. It doesn't have to be a 'negative' trait in order to do this. Too much of a good thing can be bad too!
Saving Grace:
This is the opposite of the above, the trait that makes their life a lot easier that will also probably not go away. And this doesn't have to be a 'positive' trait either!
History:
If your gem is too young to really have much of one then you can leave it blank.
Dance Style:
For fusion of course.
Weapon:
What is their weapon? It doesn't have to be a proper weapon eg; Lapis Lazuli's wings of water and it can be an improvised weapon rather than a traditional one as well. Also please no repeats of weapons and preferably no repeats of weapon types. Eg; if someone picks a katana (because I swear in every RP someone has one not that it's a bad thing I know it'll happen) try to avoid swords in general or at least curved swords or japanese swords because a) variety and b) it makes fusion weapons easier to think of.
Powers:
Two to three additional powers on top of typical gem powers. Please don't make it too overpowered!
If there's anything you want to add feel free to and also don't be afraid to ask questions!
PS- Changing Bronzite to Dinosaur Gembone so if anyone wants a dark brown gem those are free now.
@Emma It's a show. I'd think it'd be better to learn a little first. The episodes isn't too long (10 minutes) and you could marathon a lot of it pretty easily and if you don't think you want to watch at least read a few wikipedia articles on concepts like the gems and fusions and stuff. I mean you can join but you might get lost VERY fast and it'd be really sad if you left because you felt lost.
@alois You may reserve Dragon's Breath Opal. I pointed it out because it's my favourite kind of opal (there's a lot of pretty opal varieties and DBO looks even prettier in real life I swear photos don't do justice for a lot of stones like Tiger's Eye) and yeah a lot of gem sites don't include varieties of gems so though you might know about Jasper you might not know that there's a lot of varieties of it like Poppy Jasper or Ocean Jasper (I thought that's what the fusion for Lapis Lazuli and Jasper would be before it was revealed to be Malachite). even things that don't have 'Jasper' in the name like Jaspilite or Morrisonite or that there are things with Jasper in the name that aren't jasper like Dalmatian Jasper or Coquina Jasper. And thanks!
Pearl may not be a crystal but pearls are still considered gemstones, and not all crystals are considered gemstones. Pearl and Lapis Lazuli are two examples of non-crystal gemstones (and even then Pearls usually are calcium carbonate like Aragonite and Calcite and one more crystal I can't remember), and Rainbow Quartz is actually just quartz put through a vacuum with some metals to give it a coating that makes it look the way it does but if you snap it in half it'll look just like normal quartz. And then there are crystals that aren't gems like my sister's OC Evenkite. I'm pretty cool when it comes to what is considered a gem for the most part. And Lemon Quartz it is, then.
And thank you! Though there's also the whole responsibility, experience and being in charge thing which I'm not so good at but I hope I'll be as good of a GM as you think I'll be. And thanks for the input as well!
I'm afraid not about the chat. I have no idea how to make one and I'm actually kinda slow at typing and have trouble keeping up with chats. There'll be an OOC thread of course.
