Where are all of the Xmen games? Deadpool just came out on video and Xmen Apocalypse is about to come out. I was expecting more hype.

Seems like half the site is willing to be tortured if it means they get superpowers from it.@Skwint
But you become a slave afterwords...
Maybe youll get free eventually, though. Or your kids will.

@Burning KittyAjax isn't patient enough. You'd end up in one of those suffocation chamber things like Wade and/or die in the fire. And if you don't actually have any mutations for it to unlock, the torture could kill you, or your heart give out, or Ajax could just kill you out of anger.

You wouldn't end up with more than one power, and wouldn't be any more powerful than Deadpool.
@Burning Kittypretty much, yes. Of course, the torture changes, so if you want a specific power, you may need to have your character give in to torture when it makes sense to get that power.
You know that seen in "Deadpool" where he gets taken to an underground facility where he's injected with some kind of blue serum and tortured to unlock any mutations he had? Well, that's the basis of this RP.

Your characters will all be taken to that same facility at some point after Wade Wilson arrives and, eventually, shipped off as a slave. The same person will buy all of you, and have you fighting rebels in South America. If the RP lasts long enough, we'll time skip and Deadpool, Colossus, and Negasonic will show up to free you and take you back to NYC.

Rules of powers when you get them:
1) It has to be a mutation which helps you against the source of your stress, though it might have secondary effects which don't.
2) The relative strength should be proportional to how much stress/pain you were under when you got it. Use Deadpool for reference.
3) Drawbacks to your powers can be taken to make them stronger. (Think about how his cancer grows faster too.)
4) As soon as you get them you're shipped off, but they try the (relatively) less stressful stuff first, so if your character gets them quickly, they'll be weaker overall.
5) If you last until Wade burns the place down, you can either die in the fire, get powers from it, or be transferred to another facility until he kills your captor and frees you.

This is rated 18+ because torture and excessive swearing aren't exactly child friendly.
@BrokenWashingoops. DIdn't mean to put this under "Characters".

@DoomFlavoredI don't mind if Maul becomes a Sith Lord a few years earlier, but it looks like Burning Kitty wants to play Maul, so you'll have to speak to her.

Just post the CS here, so I can approve it.
“Um, what is it that we’re doing here exactly?” She said, mockingly raising her hand as though she were in class, but without waiting for permission from the teacher to speak. “I mean, I know why I’m here, because there was money involved…” Sam scratched the stubble along her shaven scalp. "At least I’m pretty sure there was some kind of monetary compensation, because frankly, I need to eat.”

"You are here, Madam, to stop the attacks on the citizens of this city, though I suspect that it will involve other cities, and may be more than simply terrorist attacks by radicals. It is confidential matter, need to know only, but we are not the only city to be attacked. Alberta, Seattle, Moscow, even Dublin have had similar attacks, though the police there have chosen to keep the terrorist nature of the murders a secret." He looked at Icarus. "I suspect that's why the UK was only able to spare a single agent. Dublin may have left the alliance a decade ago, but it's too close to their borders to ignore. If this is, as they suspect, an attempt to soften us up for invasion, or an attempt to start a civil war, they'll want to protect their own citizens first."

After listening to Zrell and Icarus's comments on the nature of the enemy the Mayor shook his head. "I doubt he'll be as tough as you think. He's not from Claus, he was born and raised in New York. He's not even a full human. A routine genetic test when he was arrested showed that he has a single Elven chromosome. It isn't enough to seriously effect his biology, but it will prevent them from fully accepting him until he proves himself in a serious way. They may have trained him to act as their agent, though, so he won't be a pushover. In fact, since you mentioned a telepath, I've had Detective Li, a Watcher, try to see what he could get out of the suspect. So far, he's proven fairly resistant to telepathic probes, though his "concentrate on something unrelated" technique of resistance isn't perfect. The Detective can fill you in on the details."

The mayor picked up four badges off the desk, handing one to each person. "You may not need this, depending on your strategy, but I hereby deputize all of you to work on this case. This will mean that the police will cooperate with you if you show them the badge, but don't expect too much cooperation. The Sheriff's department ranks pretty low on the law enforcement scale as far as the police are concerned."
