"I-If it's ok with you. I really need to go."

Garrett moved the new cell phone closer to his face, scrutinizing it carefully. He walked into the small, dimly lit kitchen and put both his old and new phones on the counter. As he moved behind the kitchen bar, his shadow clone skulked over to stand in front of his door, blocking any exit. Producing a tiny flathead screwdriver from a drawer, Garrett began to slowly dismantle the phone. Every now and then, he would grunt in frustration; the process was much more difficult with just one working arm.

There was only a battery and a SIM card inside. No bug that he could detect. I’ll need to take a closer look at this later…

Without looking at the girl, Garrett began shuffling through various drawers in the kitchen. ”Before you go…” Inside one of his drawers, Garrett found what he was looking for, and wrapped his free hand around a wooden handle. ”...tell me.”

In one smooth motion, Garrett brought down a meat tenderizer onto his old phone, smashing it several times. From the corner of his eyes, he could see the girl wincing with every loud bang. Garrett kept hammering away until nothing but fragments and shards of the phone were left.

Still holding the meat tenderizer, Garrett shot his gaze at the girl, flexing his fingers along the mallet’s wooden surface. ”What’s your name, girl?”

Vicki Victory

"Hey, guys! Welcome to Team League! My name's Samantha," she paused, looking directly at Vicki, "but you can call me Sam." A tingling sensation bubbled up in Vicki’s gut. Hot.

Sam gestured proudly at some scorch marks on the floor and charred furniture. "Yeah, that's all from me by the way. As Shyvana, my powers are pretty fucking cool." The sensation in Vicki’s stomach subsided temporarily, but swiftly returned as Vicki looked Sam up and down. "Anyway, I'm sorry, but I have to go. Hey, can you text me her number when you get it? You know, to stay, like, connected or whatever."

Sam gave a crooked smile and a wink to her before tromping away. Vicki stepped off to the side to allow her to pass. The scent of burnt firewood and campfire smoke trailed behind the red-headed beauty. Vicki subconsciously licked the corners of her lips.

For a moment, Vicki stared at the ground, a faint smile painted on her face. She quickly regained her composure, looking around at everyone else left in the room. A blue-haired maiden sat quietly in the corner, and down a hallway, Vicki could see a tall, black-haired woman with model-good looks rummaging through clothes in a bedroom. The tingling sensation intensified.

Sitting at the head of a dining table, a black-haired male called out to Vicki and Alex. "You're late. Better then never I suppose." He spoke directly to Vicki now, "I'm going to assume you've wound up with powers from League. Right?" With that he rightened himself in his chair, motioning to an empty seat at his side.

Vicki scratched the back of her head. ”Yeah...that’s about right. I’m Vicki, just so you guys know. Vicki Victory.”

Vicki strode over to the table, taking care to avoid stepping on the burnt patches of carpet. Yet again, Vicki was in disbelief at how these people were acting in this situation. The place looked like a warzone, but no one was hurrying to clean up the wreckage. She even spotted a few newly opened beer bottles strewn about. Right...this is my new normal.

She pulled out the chair that the man offered and sat down. Vicki felt like a sore thumb sticking out with her white hair and bright-yellow boxing clothes, but she took care not to project that to her new acquaintances. ”So...what’s going?”

@Leolycan
@Kiroue Thank you! I guess I have a lot to read through xD

Woo, welcome back! How was the move? =P
@VKAllen I thought I saw you lurking! I'm not GM or anything, but I think we're still taking people. A Vel'Koz character would be so cool, especially if he was a brainiac who spoke in anatomy, physics, or just general science vernacular!

@VKAllen Sounds like Artemis might have someone she can get along with =P
WARNING!: TIME SKIP WILL OCCUR NEXT GM POST! PLEASE WRAP UP ALL INTERACTIONS BEFORE NEXT UPDATE.

Got it. Raze is good to go, I'll wrap up Garrett's interaction with the next post, and I'll have Vicki join Matt at the table and I'll just see where you take her.

....

Wha
@rivaan Yeah, totally fibe, that's what I was thinking anyway
@rivaan Vicki and Alex just walked into Matt & Liam's place, do you have any response or reaction to them? It's totally fine if you don't!
Okay, finally posted. Just a suggestion to @Leolycan, if you want to go ahead with the time skip, we can just have Matt finish explaining the situation to Vicki, and proceed from there. We'll just pretend it took at least a good few hours to get through everything, if you just want to skip to evening time or something.
Raze Colter

Raze ran. He just ran and ran down the streets of Darkwell. Raze wasn’t just running away from a guy with a gang of ghouls. He was fleeing the potential of being labeled as a murderer, as if he could outrun such judgements. Raze weaved and shoved through crowds of angry, annoyed faces towards the only place he felt would be safe: his own home.

He bounded up the stairwell of his apartment building rather than waiting for the elevator, afraid that his hopes and dreams would fall away if he stopped moving. Raze hardly even stopped to whip out his keys to unlock the door, slamming his body shoulder-first into the faded, brown entry. Once unlocked, he slammed the door behind him and slumped to the ground, leaning his back against it to keep out any accusers. It didn’t help though. His accusers were already inside his apartment; in his mind.

Murderer. You’re no savior, you’re a killer! Filth like you are unworthy of being a hero!, cackled the voice of Hecarim. Raze pressed his palms against his forehead and gritted his teeth in frustration. Hecarim’s malicious laughter echoed around his skull, growing louder and louder by the second.

Raze yelled out loud, then thought to himself, I DID THE RIGHT THING, YOU SHUT THE HELL UP!! IT WAS EITHER THAT WOMAN, OR THAT MAN!!! I protected the innocent!

Hecarim just let out a bellowing laugh, You slaughtered that man’s life without any hesitation. You are a blight on Darkwell, just as so many others are. You are no beacon of hope, you are a symbol to be feared, a story told to scare children. You are one of us now.

Still sitting on the ground against the floor, Raze lowered his clenched fists to the carpet, allowing them to gently rest on its bouncy surface. No, I’m not. I am nothing to be afraid of. Not yet. He opened his eyes and looked across the apartment to a window. All of Darkwell stood before him, skyscrapers silhouetted against a slowly setting sun. There is much work to be done before the scum of this city truly fear me.

Garrett Fishman

Before Garrett stood not a dangerous stranger, nor a mysterious courier. Instead, it was simply a little girl, much shorter than Garrett. She was small and shaking, reminding him of a mouse. Garrett swiped the phone from her and stood off to the side of the doorframe, giving his clone room to usher the girl in with a shove.

Garrett scrutinized the phone in his free arm, turning it over, then back around. Pressing the home button simply brought up the main menu, no lock screen or security of some other kind. Yet.

Garrett held out the phone with the screen facing straight at the girl. ”What do I do with this, call or wait to be called?”

@Leolycan

Vicki Victory

"So what's your plan? You going to try to bring a comic book to life? Be a boxer and kick ass? Ignore it?"

Vicki brought up a clenched fist in front of her face, examining it to find any indication at the source of her strength. She herself was still trying to figure out the answer to that question. ”The plan is to learn to live with this. I don’t know what that looks like yet, though.”

The elevator dinged, and Vicki glanced quickly at the floor indicator. They were at the top of the complex. Fancy.

Alex lead Vicki down a hallway. On the way, they passed a blonde man with moderately long hair. Vicki nodded at him with a slight grin, then continued on her way behind Alex. Down the hallway, one of the doors seemed to have...exploded or something. A few splinters were embedded in the opposite wall, but a majority of the door and some of its lock mechanism littered the ground. It was to this door that Alex steered Vicki. Cautiously, she poked her head around the doorframe first, followed closely by the rest of her body. She carefully stepped over and around pieces of the door, then spoke,”Ah, hi. I think I’m the same as you guys?”

@Leolycan @Eklispe @Kiroue (And anyone left in the apartment.)
@Leolycan Got it, okay. I'm headed off to bed, but I'll post tomorrow morning/early afternoon. I'm going to have Raze head home, but Vicki's headed to Matt & Liam's place at the moment, that may take some resolving before time-skipping. Not to mention the Leon/Artemis interaction going on.
@LeolycanAh, depends, where/when would we time skip to?
