@TheWizardLizard
I was planning on doing that xD

I guess we wait for the last two, then flip a coin? :p
@tabbycat Kay, so Fire and wind taken, Noted.

@karamonnom Me too.

Hmmm... I can't pick which element I want. Maybe I'll just take what's left over, give myself a challenge?

Right. Before I start hacking away at my post (lots of work on phone) I need to know what needs to go.

Kronshi did you read my explanation on page 48? What kind of challenge is the Ettin suposed to be?

I understand I may have misinterpretted the general feel of the setting. I haven't read any good arguments against the post, so I have trouble seeing your problem here.

PS: Don't threaten to kill characters like that. It's unnescesaried and unbecomming.

I guess the main problem I had with the post is that it has your character display a lot more power and skill than should really be available to a level one character, in addition to a LOT more power and skill than the rest of us had been displaying. Like, I read that and had this feeling of "Well, hell... why is my character even here?"

Like, look at everyone else's contributions to the fight. Alula goes into Super Saiyan mode, and proceeds to relentlessly annoy the Ettin. Vis swordfights a guy, gets shot, and almost bleeds to death. Suki summons some skeletons who do some admittedly good work, but then almost passes out from the effort. Separ is half dead from being stabbed the whole time. Kelvin shoots a couple goblins, then uses one of his rare, expensive, one-use sticks of dynamite to kill a whole bunch of them. Carver kills a few goblins, but then gets covered by more of them and spends the rest of the fight getting wailed on in a dog-pile.

Meanwhile, Furnace saves Carver (thanks a million for that, by the way), turns the whole battlefield into a raging lava inferno, goes full Attack on Titan on the miniboss and stabs the absolute bejeezus out of it with a melting sword. All without a scratch.

That's hilariously awesome, of course, but it makes the rest of our characters sort of look like chumps? If you know what I mean?

Neat idea. I'll put myself down as interested.
Lets see....
Furnace is like the little one who needs lead around, but is very determined.
Separ is like the son who is a bit naive, but is strong and moral.
Suki is like the foreign exchange student who is temporarily living with us, and trying to just seduce everyone at once.
Vis is that one son who hides in his room all day, but is really a rom-com addict- despite his rough outward appearance.
Alula is that strange, spaced out next-door neighbor girl who always somehow wanders into the house and randomly gets caught up in our vacations.
Kelvin is like a father who just wants to get done with work, and everyone safe.
Carver is the over protective mom who disaproves of the foreign exchange student.

Kronshi is the tax collector, that is all.

*Stacy's Mom begins playing in the background*

Also, I'm waiting to post until I can get final confirmation on the Ettin's status. At that point I will attempt to grab Furnace and piggyback carry him out.
Giant Slayer! Ha haa

Oh boy, after all this carnage I can't wait till Furnace discovers the concept of death.

BTW: I did mention I'll be in Paris next week right?

Dear lord.

Um, just checking, did GM give you permission to like... absolutely slaughter the Ettin? Like, in a PM? Because that was nuts.

And yeah, you told us you'd be gone.
@TheWizardLizard HOLD ON! .... doesnt dynamite could as the whole room?

*rubs chin reflectively*

Yes... this could work...
@TheWizardLizard

Are you trying to say I'm not the team's fighting powerhouse? D:

Well, yes and no. To me, Separ seems very good in a fight, but because of his nature as a melee unarmed fighter, he's more of a duelist powerhouse, I'd say.
Like, to put it in DnD terms, Separ can reliably kill one weak enemy an attack or heavily wound a strong one, but because he can't really cleave and his best attacks only hit one person, that's going to be his contribution to a large scale fight: minus one enemy a turn, reliably. Of course, he more than makes up for that with some defensive ability and power when fighting a single target - he's a good boss killer.

What I would say the team is lacking is someone with frontloaded offensive power who can just say, "This half of the room, dead. Now." Naturally, they'd largely be short on defense and utility, but it'd be worth it, especially since the reason this fight was difficult was because we just got swamped.

Right now, the closest thing we have is Furnace, whose powers are a little more situational and support-y (not to minimze his conributions - he's rocking it <3).

... I play a lot of party-based RPGs, what can I say.
In case anyone is interested, my character idea - assuming the GM decides to accept more people - is a merchant with underworld/black market ties. Non-combat. So then there'd be a good party face, extra income, and somebody for Carver to rebel against. Can't imagine he'd like black market folks. :P

Then again, my character doesn't have to tell him that.

Sounds interesting!

I guess my only note would be that the party seems a little light on real muscle at the moment - the other free slot should definitely be devoted to a barbarian or a sorcerer or someone with combat power. Rose was going to be our fight powerhouse, I think, but... she got et.
<Snipped quote by TheWizardLizard>

Including the final boss? Also how do you like Separ? What do you think of his personality?

Yep. Cave we were in collapsed. Everyone dies.

And Separ's interesting. He definitely gives me a very 'young and new to this' vibe, as well as being (I think) very much the likely protagonist of our little adventure.

I'm interested to see how he develops. I think it'll be very fun to watch him come into his own.
