I'll be keeping track of all stats. If you ever want an update on where you lie, just shoot me a PM. If a stat is not specified, assume you're at a value of 20 for it, as there are infinite theoretical stats that can be raised by the dice.

@Vocab
The little bit in the OOC OP is just for flavor and to set the stage; none of them are necessarily going to be there. Once your character has rolled their die, I'll tell you what number they rolled on it (which is done by me rolling a 1d6) and what quests are available to them via PM. I'll be using PMs for that because it's easier to keep track of, and because you might not want your quests to be public, but you're free to tell others about them ICly and stuff.

???, ???

Pale hands wrung themselves together, a soft sigh forming in the air.

"Finally complete. The preparation needed for this sort of thing almost makes it not worth it. Well, that's fine, since it's ready now."

Sitting in a space within which the concept of space was irrelevant, a figure looked to its counterpart with a coy grin. "Want to make another wager on what'll happen in this round? I'll put the usual amount on all of them dying before they make it to the third hurdle."

"The third? Since when are you that optimistic? I'll put double the usual on the game ending before they hit the second."

"Eh, what can I say? I'm a romantic. Sure, I'll take that bet. The basic conditions of fate have already been met, so things should be getting interesting about now. I'll put up the observation restriction so we can't spoil ourself by going outside their time axis; at the current point in their existence, most of them should be rolling for the first time now."

"Why are you telling me this? I'm ready to send out the messages, I've been ready. The one we've been waiting on is you."

"...whatever. Initiating world-transcension project. Set...initiate."

Nonsensical verses, nonsensical sentences.

Nonsensical beings in a nonsensical place.

A fitting beginning as it is pointless. A fitting end as it is Truth. Like a man walking along a spiraling path, towards an unreachable center, the dawn breaks on a story to shake the foundation of the world it is written in.

There is little else to say. There is little else to do.

For as that die in your hands falls downwards, that power to surpass 'God' will move from possibility to necessity, from collapse to expansion.

And so, on this day, allow me to say only one final thing to you.

Good luck.

Don't see any glaring issues, you're good to go.

I'll put up the IC starter in a bit, once I finish some other stuff I'm doing. Those who haven't made their apps yet are still more than welcome to, of course.

@Zealous Blade
Approved. Once we get one more app approved, I'll go ahead and start the IC. If people are taking too long though, we'll start regardless.

Approved.

@Vocab
Of course, feel free. Let me know if you have any questions.

I like it, you've made something that fits with the premise of the story pretty nicely, so you get a thumbs-up for that. Approved.

@Eklispe
Make sure you add an appearance. The character itself is fine, but the High Specialization feels a lot like a "multiple in one" sort of deal. Street Performer is a combination of Dancing, Instrumentals, Acting, and Misdirection/Subtlety/Thievery. Out of those, stealing would need to be its own category, as would playing instruments, but you would be able to combined Acting and Dancing pretty feasibly, so just think on what you want to do with that.
The Body one is fine, since it's just a general physique thing, but it's helpful to remember that it won't increase his reaction time or anything like that.
But yeah, so my recommendation is to split up the Street Performer into two Specializations, maybe the thievery stuff on one and the dancing/acting on another. Since you have a Low Specialization slot open, that shouldn't be too hard to pull off. Just do that and add an appearance, and you'll be good to go.
An OOC? In my Int. Check? Preposterous.

A shameless replica of the Interest Check.

You are human. A simple, mundane human. Perhaps you attend school, perhaps you have a day job, perhaps you are unemployed and struggling to make it through the days. Regardless of all of that, you certainly have some imperfections. Maybe it's your appearance, maybe your mentality, maybe your ability, but there has to be something about yourself that you would change if you could, doesn't there?

And, if you're that one-in-a-million person who really, truly was blessed with perfection, then, well...

There has to be something about the world you'd change if you could, doesn't there?

Here, take this.

Don't look at me that way, there's no need to be suspicious. Just...roll it, and you'll understand.

In some form or fashion, it has come to you. Maybe a friend or stranger happened to give you it with a cryptic explanation. Maybe you were walking down the sidewalk, and saw something glinting. Regardless, you have obtained a single, translucent blue die. Curiosity eventually gnaws at you, and you roll the die.

The die is rolled, and after it comes to a halt on a 4, its color shifts from blue to red. A moment later, the die fades out of view, seeming to dissipate into the air as though it had never been there.

Just as you see this, trying to make sense of it, the phone in your pocket buzzes.

New Text Message from Err:Unknown

Hello! Thanks for rolling the die! I've gone ahead and installed the application on your phone, take a look! We'll be in contact a lot in the future!

You feel a slight shiver dance along your spine as you unlock your phone and see a new app installed on it, simply named "Dice". Opening the app, you are met with a strange selection of menus. Several are greyed out and unreadable, but the two available to you are "Status" and "Quest".

Clicking on "Status", a picture of you is pulled up, next to what resembles a stat distribution page like what you would see in a roleplaying game. Strength, Agility, Endurance, Appearance, Intelligence, all of these have values, and above these "stats" sits a single sentence.

4 Dice Points undistributed.

Out of curiosity, you click on the arrow that indicates raising Appearance by one, and confirm the selection. The number of points remaining decreases to three. You race to the nearest mirror, scarcely able to believe you're buying into this, but as you look into the mirror, you realize something. The mole on your left cheek, something that had always bothered you, is gone.

Eyes widening, you look from the reflection back to your phone, hastily tabbing over to the "Quests" selection.

"Confess to the girl in your science class! Reward: 3 dice."
"Stop biting your nails! Reward: 1 die."
"Call your parents at least once a day for two weeks! Reward: 3 dice."
"Beat up that annoying mathematics teacher! Reward: 6 dice."
"???. Reward: Capability to stop time."
"???. Reward: Precognition."
"???. Reward: Right of Creation."
"???. Reward: Become God."
"???. Reward: ERROR."

Your phone vibrates once more, as a second text from the unknown number is received.

I hope you have fun! There will be tons of new quests soon, so try doing some of the ones that are there right now in the meantime! Let me know if you have any questions~!

Alrighty, so that makes four. I'll put up the OOC later today, since I'm busier than I'd like at the moment. Others are still more than welcome to join, of course.
Interested, but I have a few questions.

Is this planned as more of a "mystery game," where the players will be encouraged to figure out who's doing this, why, and how?

Or will it be more of a "battle" scenario, where after using the power of the dice--perhaps to gain supernatural abilities or accomplish unlawful goals--players turn against each other and each must try to "win the game?"

Both are fine alone or as a hybrid, I just want to get a better feel for the atmosphere of the story so I can design my character accordingly.

It's intended as an open-ended sort of thing in that regard. If your character thinks that the influence of the dice is something to not be trusted, or to try and exploit or take control of, then they're more than welcome to try and figure out the system behind it, who "X" is, and the like. However, they should also consider that "X" might not take kindly to that.

Similarly, if your character simply wants power, wants to survive, or wants to better themselves because of an inferiority complex, then it's probably in their best interests to just do quests and get more dice. There will likely be some PvP elements if you go down this route, depending on the specifics of what happens, but I don't want to get too in-depth on that because of spoilers.

But yeah, I won't tell you how to play the game, and I have things set up to where whatever choice you make, it's fine, so it entirely depends on personal preference.
