Are you all still interested in joining the rp and creating a character sheet?

Sure. I'll cobble something together shortly.
Hello, hello~

This place still accepting applications?

@CloseEnough

I'm legitimately sorry to say this, especially since you've put effort into the character, but I'll have to deny it on the basis of the errors in English mechanics in the CS. I don't mean to be rude, but I can't accept someone in good faith while knowing that.

Beginning at the base of all existence, Malkhut, the root of the World Tree, Patalaloka. Ending at the colorless peak, Keter, the domain of the transcendent Eagle, Satyaloka. A golden spiral staircase comes into being, stretching from the foundation up and down into an infinity that exceeds description.

On the two ends of this staircase, standing at the points of opposite infinity, two beings exist.

One, a lance of light rising from the Kingdom Below. One, a hammer of declaration for the world's end. The time has already been forgotten, as they begin to walk towards one another, towards the center of that staircase in which possibility becomes totality.

One step. Two steps. Three steps. Five steps. Eight steps.

The walk along the staircase stops, a curtain call without cause. The two have not yet crossed.

"...it's been interesting, so far."

"Not yet, not yet."

The walk resumes, and the movement from infinity to zero returns.

As one ought to anticipate by this point in time, the ever-responsive faceless entity using the moniker of "X" was quick to reply to those who had addressed it. The contents of its reply were also to be expected.

@Zeroth

"Oh, nah, I'm not discouraging it. You can totally give the dice to other people. I'm A-Okay with it. Sure, it makes more work for me, but if you love your job then doing more of it doesn't hurt~!"

@Vocab

"Yep, expected you'd be asking that one sooner or later. All the murder-y ones do. Well, who knows? Give it a shot if you really want to find out!"

I'll edit proper context into the posts and look at the character app tomorrow. Need to sign off for the night, but wanted to at least leave you lot with something to reply to.

"The whole point of the quests with varying rewards is to test what you think and how you act. If I tell you if a plan's good or not, it defeats the purpose."

@Zeroth

"Huh, not great rolls, but not too bad either."

"Umm, I kinda misphrased that. It's less the dice and more my little system. Basically, according to the system criteria for judging how suitable a person is for the dice, you're pretty up there! It's good, cause that means you can get more quests, and obtain rewards easier!"

"There aren't really any rules. If you want to go out and kill someone, go ahead, but be ready to face consequences if the police catch you. If you want to spread the dice by giving some to a person who's down on their luck, knock yourself out, but be aware that you might create a competitor who'll stop you from getting quest rewards."

"The only thing I'll say is that you shouldn't try to pry to deeply into me or my system; there are things that aren't really meant for human eyes. As long as you don't explicitly try to do something for the purpose of messing with the system, it's fine. So don't try to 'hack' the phone app data or anything dumb like that, even if you did it wouldn't work, and all you'd do is make me sad. ;~;"

@Zeroth A reply to you's been edited into the last IC post.

Guess what happened with James's phone? No, really. Guess.

"Uuuuuuugh, just say it out loud. You have no idea how exasperating it is to wait for you to tyyyypppppe ヽ( ̄д ̄)ノ"

"On your first question, no. For varying reward quests, I grade you based on your abilities and how you apply them. If you have a 9999 in Planning but you end up making a plan that someone with 500 could do, then you'll be lucky to get one die."

"For the second, you uh, you need a reality check, pal. 70 Creativity? Congrats, you're like, three times more creative than the average twat. Well, not even because stats aren't linear like that. Besides, no matter how high your stats get, you'll still be conceptually human. You can't understand things that don't function in the conceptual universe your mind's posited in; boosting stats can't change that. If you plan on becoming something beyond humanity, then do quests and get as many dice as you can, 'cause you'll sure as hell need them."

"Hm? Find me? Kill me? You're asking what happens if you manage to do that?"

"LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"

@Zeroth

Almost immediately after Mark had hung up the phone, a small, not blinding but still present, flash of light momentarily occupied a patch of air in front of him. When it faded, four blue dice fell from that space, clattering against the ground. It seemed that they materialized from the light, or something of that nature.

"As expected of the current top candidate! Well, to be fair, I might have made those quests a bit too easy, but your specs are pretty up there in terms of how the dice like you, so it's whatever. That's how the quests work, after all."

"They're both cleared, but I hope you don't just leave it be like that! Following up is important."

"Anyway, your quest log is updated. Enjoy the new gifts~!"

Do I get a message from X? Considering I'm not entirely sure how I should play off what I put my points into xD

Your character hasn't really done anything X sees a need to speak up with regards to. If you want to have a talk with them though, knock yourself out.

No sooner had the questions exited Mark's mouth than did a reply from the faceless figure come through. How were they managing to send things so quickly? Forget typing them, just thinking of the answers that quickly seemed ridiculous.

"Yep, I've been around for a while! Been around the block and whatnot. Weeeeell, I don't have the same concept of time as you do, but you get the idea! And don't worry, I'm not a god! Those things need faith to get materialized, deification of natural phenomena and stuff, and if they stop getting that faith then they get downgraded! Can you believe that? (〃>_<;〃) It doesn't sound fun to me, no thank you!"

"Oho, now the series of questions to figure out what the 'catch' is happens! Long text time! \(^ヮ^)/"

"Well, for question number one, nope! Just because I've given you a system doesn't mean the rest of the world follows it, you won't have to fight any monsters. Um, number two's iffier. I mean, there's nothing saying you have to fight each other, but you might meet some crazy who wants to be the only one with the dice, so they try to fight you. Something like that. You'll never be required to fight, though; that girlfriend quest of yours could even be fulfilled by someone who also has the dice!"

"And no, for three, there's no catch. When you die, you'll...well, I'm not allowed to talk about that, but it'll be the usual thing for humans unless you transcend humanity and become something better. But yeah, you're fine, there's no contract you sign by using the dice. At any point, you can just tell me you want out, and I'll stop messaging you. I'll keep the app around in case you change your mind, though!"

"The dice exist so that you can reach your ideal self, and then surpass it. Break through those limits you deemed as impossible, break through the expectations of your world, and become something amazing. It'd be dumb if using it was tied to some restrictive or detrimental cost. Everything that happens, good and bad, is up to you and you alone. Self-reflection and all that. Fun, right?"
