Appearance

Personality: Catherine has a relaxed, cheerful personality. She doesn't quite fit into the archetype of a nerdy scientist much, as is already implied by her visual appearance. She's not shying away from social interaction, acting cheekily curious both with colleagues and test subjects. Adding insult to injury, she's somewhat quirky, provoking strong reactions from either, be they positive or negative. Sometimes falls back into crude language, and regularly speaks before thinking. She handles formalities and directives laxly, which usually gets her in trouble with authorities - but on the other hand makes it easier for her to befriend patients. This character trait of hers overlaps with most things she does, manifesting in a lack of discipline and universal lazyness. At this point of the dossier, personnel managers usually wonder why Catherine chose a carreer in genetics, a justified question. What qualifies her for the job to begin with is an unparallelled, nearly eidetic memory, enabling her to comprehend genetic processes and chemical reactions at a level of complexity that requires most others to use scientific calculators and simulation software. Paired with a seemingly infinite personal interest in genetic engineering, she can often make up for her disciplinic shortcomings and lack of experience with work efficiency and reliable 'mental math' predictions. It is furthermore noteworthy that she regularly blends out sensory input about her surroundings when concentrating on a complex calculation, making one able to easily distract/disable her by simply throwing the right complex variables at her. Despite the obvious suspicions, cognitive tests have shown no sign of autism.

History: Catherine has always been a child of great talent but lacking ambitions. She somewhat effortlessly made it through high school, yet without any outstanding accomplishments. While there never was any official proof about the matter, one might suspect Cat finishing her PhD in genetics at the age of 22 didn't quite happen under fair circumstances... specifically regarding that Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell are renown, wealthy chemists with a certain reputation and 'influence'. She herself has established a bit of a reputation on her own as a luminary in the field of estimating experimental outcomes, albeit being difficult to work with, according to her latest employment reference. Fueled by her own interest, she learned basic programming in order to write a batch of simulation software that is almost as time-efficient as her own head and similarly difficult to operate, making them relatively useless without Catherine around, but nonetheless impressive as an example of what the little scatterbrain can achieve when she's genuinely interested in a project. Her playful nature has proven to be both aggravating for her superiors and beneficial for interaction with patients, another double-edged feature of hers.

Reason for agreeing to take part in project: She signed up for the project without much of a dedicated motivation. While it's more interesting than the jobs she did before, the main reason lies within her parents sending her there, both to force their offspring into a meaningful workplace and to get their family name associated with the potentially world-shaking results of it.

Random fact: Catherines natural hair color is a rusty brown. The now prevalent orange is the result of a compound she developed herself and tested herself - on herself. It changed the phenotype of her hair permanently and irreversibly. The pink and light blue streaks on the other hand are regular hair coloring.

OOC fact: I have not the foggiest clue about biochemistry and will more than likely babble on about pseudo-scientific nonsense that will be painfully cringeworthy for anyone who has. If that is a problem, please notify me about it.

Random fact: I had 7 different random facts ready to go with the CS and it took me almost half a day to pick my final choice.

While I'd prefer to get a few more people in, seeing how there's not gonna be much casual interaction between three people of two hostile parties, Jangel has a point. An OOC, a properly written premise and one or two character sheets might have a better chance at getting people interested than just the game's name and a nutshell.

Almost through with the IC part thus far, gotta say you got me hooked. I'm thoroughly enjoying the direction this takes and all of the characters, would be delighted to take part. Also pretty much half-done with the CS as well. I'm assuming I'll post that here first, for evaluation purposes?

I'll have to reserve my definite yes/no decision for when I'm done catching up though.

Interested in joining this. I've always kinda waited for one of the countless zombie RP posts to stand out in any way, and "Zambambo" just does it for me, regardless of if I know this word from the same source as you do (if so, then yes, I agree. That was most definitely a typo of Zambambo).

I sort of have an unused RP character idea fitting the premise perfectly buried in my head already, just need to type it out. Will probably do so within 24 hours, assuming you're still open for players.

Also, no, the router did not die brave. It died like a wimp, crying over itself and refusing any of the revival attempts I tried. Including mechromancy and praying to the deep ones. It died like a spoiled princess.
