Virgil Static Hawkins

The sky was ablaze with the sight of fireworks which was usually the cap for many events. The Multicolored light show in this case represented the glory of the birth of a nation, at least for some. For others, it was more of a means to stick close with family and celebrate regardless of patriotic belief. This was especially for those who had family who fought abroad, to defend their homeland, regardless of the esteem (Or lack thereof) obtained from it.

Central Park was perfect for this. Not only does its positioning give a perfect sight for the city lights, but it is also perfect for the fireworks show common for the Independence Day Festivities. Here we have the Hawkins family and their extended family. It was…mostly just an excuse to have a cookout, enjoy the sounds of the boombox, dance, and overall have a good time.

The sounds of Big Daddy Kane blasted through the small picnic area that the family had commandeered for themselves. The Aunts having conversations and competition over who made the best potato salad, The uncles and males of the family at the domino's table various slangs and conversing about the next moves, the recent events. An escape for the more hectic lifestyle they mostly all lived.

Virgil like the rest of the teenagers took their time out on the dance floor. To Socialize and get their legs moving, familiar conversation about the New York life and school rumors ran around, something Virgil himself was not exactly familiar with, being a Dakota City native, Brooklyn slang and culture seemed alien to him.

“Hey Yo, Virg?”

His mind was brought out of his routine when he heard the voice of his Cousin, fairly older than him who seemed to be hanging out with an older crew. Virgil took himself off of the dance floor and toward the sound a side area near the water itself.

“Heard you knew was around in that bang baby sting, ya holdin'?”

Virgil winced at that point of conversation, It was sadly well known within his family where he was from and what he had done and escaped from.

“Nah man, it wasn’t like that.”

“Aiiight, Verg relax. I was just asking what was up.”
It was…not one of his proudest moments after all, and it was something he would rather forget. Then someone else piped up seemingly a friend of that cousin who was still curious overall about the stories he heard.

“So what’s up anyway, heard you nearly got caught by 5-0 that night…how did you even get out. Heard Dakota City PD don’t play, especially with that new task force for gangs…”

Virgil was set to speak again, when someone decided they would interfere. A Hand was placed on Virgil’s shoulders, a hand belonging to a man that suddenly sent his cousins back a bit. The man was far from his days of playing college football but the man was still in fair shape, including his height of 6’3” And being the oldest of the Hawkins brothers he clearly had some pull.

“Excuse me Jamal, but I require Virgils help with the sodas.”

Jamal back up and nodded as Virgil was escorted away by his father, someone who was clearly not happy with what he had heard.

“Pretty sure I asked you to stay out of trouble on this Trip.”

“I was, they came to me and asked about it I wasn’t even-”

“I know, that’s why I called you over…now come help with these Sodas, Edith is gonna kill me unless….”

The sound of the explosion was far too close now, in fact it was right nearby and the bright lights of blues and red from the fireworks seemed to be engulfed instead in red and orange. Something exploded and the force knocked him and his father over. Central Park, once bustling with the noises of the city in jubilation and camaraderie, was now at the peak of panic. The explosion did not seem to harm him or his father, but it was clear something was up.

“Virgil, Are you…

“Fine pops…”

However, the screams of the denizens made it clear this was not going to be a one time occurrence, Virgil needed to act, he had kept his backpack for something like this but didn’t expect he’d actually need to use anything from it. Turns out that wasn’t the case. His father had gotten up to check on the rest of the family, and with the panic he decided to take his chance.

“Virgil, go get the car we have to get…”

His father turned around, only to see his son gone.

Virgil was already now in the sky, the metal trash can lid he commandeered after getting dressed into his suit, a last minute attempt to find suitable travel to find the source of what was going on. Only to see what seemed to be giant lizard creatures chasing after…What seemed to be Red Sonja, or at least who Virgil thought to be such, The vibrant red hair and athletic tone was a dead ringer for her after all.

“But Who’re these clowns?”

Seemingly, Virgil wasn’t alone in the sudden attempt at heroics, he didn’t expect however to see who he’d find. Blue and Red was a notable color after all, and the S On the chest could not be denied, now could the yellow bolt of another. However, they were a lot smaller than he saw on screen. He was aware of the Redhead, Kid Flash had been palling around with his Mentor for a while now. However, the Super…kid? That was a new one, Virgil moved toward the right of Kid Flash and interjected.

“Dunno, but they clearly ain't takin' no for an answer."

Age

16

Attributes & Abilities

Virgil’s physiological ability is based on him being a bang baby status of mutant. Because of this, his body now generates electromagnetic currents Which he can and use to manipulate and control at various ways. He has been shown to be able to conduct electromagnetic energy that can both magnetize and demagnetize metal, generate electromagnetic fields, and even in certain cases levitate specific magnetic materials in the air for a prolonged period of time. Due to his electro magic abilities he has also been shown to hear and alter radio waves. His ability also gives him the means to access most mechanical objects powered by electricity without them actually being plugged in.

He can also choose to use said electromagnetism to generate direct electricity as well. He can charge and drain electric current from electrical objects (Though he cannot store it.) and project this electricity in may way. Using it directly as an attack, projecting loose electricity into focused displays and constructs such as shields, projectiles, and even certain constructs. He can also cling to certain objects but this seem to be something he has not exactly got the HANG of it.

However, with his change of physiology comes some prices, for one wood and electricity being insulators can be a useful adversary to his abilities. In fact, any form of electrical insulation can be used to contain and thus limit his ability. Energy absorption is also an issue, while he can generate electromagnetic energy he is not able to actually store it, meaning that he is fairly vulnerable to having said energy absorbed before and even during actual use.

He has ability outside of his mutated physiology, specifically his intelligence. Though he tends to hide it, his knowledge of Mathematics, Biology, and computer science is quite advanced for a child his age. It is still raw and he seems almost…hesitant to actually use it in any mass appeal. However, to those who know him it is clear that it is more than just him getting lucky in his academics. This had led him to build his own crudge gadgets for his superhero needs and for other use cases. Such as a metal saucer which he uses for long range travel as a means to essentially fly.

Character Synopsis

Virgil Hawkins was born in the seedy City of Dakota. His mother, Jean a Paramedic for The Paris Island EMS and his father a former college football hero and current high School PE Teacher for Earnest Hemmingway High School. While Virgil was always and astute child, It was not something well chided upon by the mostly urban area of Paris Island. His uncle Teshome being the main influence and essentially his tutor. Due to the rising crime and gang culture of Paris Island, his parents and uncle felt cautious of still living on the Island but stayed due to their ties to the community at large who saw both as influential figures and keystones in the small urbanite area.. Virgil close with his uncle would spend most of his time with him at the park, playing chess and mostly just being a normal kid. However, one day when at the park to celebrate what would be his tenth birthday, a drive by shooting would break out. While attempting to protect Virgil, Teshome himself was shot and killed during the shooting. This event is what led to the Hawkings deciding to finally move away from Paris island to the more suburban area of Sadler.

Virgil…did not adjust well.

Due to the death of his uncle in front of his eyes, the boy slowly became more increasingly belligerent. His anger never really given a good avenue to actually let that out. His family just moving and settling into the financial stress that comes with it, was not actually financially or emotionally able to give Virgil the means to access what could help with processing this lost. So…his anger festered, and while his family was moved to the suberbs of Sadler. Sadler and Paris Island still shared the same school system…including the high school that Virgil had recently been enrolled in. The High School was his father’s own Earnest Hemmingway High School, which was slowly becoming a melting pot of Dakota City’s social classes. The Gangs of the Ghetto like the Paris Island Bloods was highly becoming influential, whilst their Rivalry with both the Force Syndicate was growing increasingly common and widespread throughout the school. This was where a desperate and Angry Virgil would find his calling. Virgil would become fast friends with Paris Bloods Ivan Evans and Larry Wade. Together they would become one of the more feared trios of the Earnest Hemmingway High School gang circuit.

However, with the fatalities rising and the police crackdown on police brutality rising, A Meeting was called between the Bloods and the Force Syndicate to attempt a truce near the Paris Island Docks, with ALL of the members invited. Against his Parents orders Virgil and his boys would go ahead. While talks was Initially Positive with the Leaders of the Paris Island Bloods, Leonard Smalls and The Force Syndicate OG Only going by the name Wise Son and a Truce was eventually made. The police would break up the meeting on grounds of a sting operation setup. With One Party blaming the other the truce seemed to be immediately put on hold, with the officers using tear gas and other flammable material in an attempt to try and break up the fighting and soon to be riot.

Only for a nearby storage facility to explode, the smell of dangerous tear gas was mixed with another disturbing smell. Virgil and Larry were able to get away from the increasingly dangerous cloud of smoke, gang members, and officers whilst Ivan was seemingly restrained by the police at the scene.

This was called the Big Bang, an event in Dakota City which seemed to have wiped out a total of 100 Police Officers and Various Gangs of Dakota City. Thouse who did survive however, were left with…awkward mutations Virgil for his part had found the next day, that his ability had lead to him gaining the ability to generate electromagnetic currents at will. Not knowing who exactly to go to about it, He would attempt to accoust the services of what many called the neighborhood geek, Richard Stone. While initially reluctant seeing Virgil was not nearly as friendly to him (as Virgil was…almost akin to a school bully. He assisted on the promise that Virgil will give him free passes from the bullies that tortured him.

Virgil Ovid Hawkins June 1st, 2001 Male Hero

“So…You were over a friends house?”

“Yep”
“For the entire night?”

“Yep?”

“Studying?”

“Yes Sir.”

“Now why do I not believe that?”

Virgil’s groaned at the response, his father was far from being dumb. He worked at STAR Labs for a reason. He didn’t expect that his father, even after the explanation made would at least partially believe him. It’s not like it was a complete lie anyway. They truly was studying, specifically how exactly his new abilities worked.

“I’m serious, here, I’m handing Rich the phone now."

“Who is Rich?”

Before his question was answered Virgil already handed the phone to Richard. Richard gave Virgil an angry stare, showing his distate for getting him into this. Before picking up the phone and fixing his face.

“H-Hello Sir, Sorry we’ve never met, You see Virgil was having issue with the recent chapter of his biology exam and I wanted to help him out.”

“…Virgil Hasn’t failed Science since he was 7 Years old, He hasn’t gotten under a B Average either…”

Richard stared at Virgil who simple shrugged. He didn’t think that Virgil was a dumb individual, but seeing that he was usually the class jokester and slacker, what he didn’t expect was to see him actually apply himself as his father had apparently claimed. It was surprising to realize, even after their conversation Yesterday. However, his thought process would have to wait, seeing that his father was still on the phone.

“Ah, well practice makes perfect, yeah?” Richard responded. “Besides, no such thing as overstudying, especially when you’re studying with a friend right?”

Virgil’s father stood silent for a second before making a slight grunting noise.

“Allright, I got it. You can give Virgil back the phone now.”

Richard handed Virgil the phone again, Virgil quickly picked it up and gave a grin.

“See, Told you I was over a friends house.”

“Allright, you’re free for now, but if I found out you were doing anything else but that, especially if it involves hanging out with Ebon, you’re going to be a proud owner of a three shoes, two on your feet and one in your…”

“Okay, Got it dad see you today, love you bye!”

He quickly hung up, only to hear Richard laughing. He turned to Richard and crossed his arms in false anger.

“Real Funny Richard, Now let’s get to school before we’re late, I don’t wanna hear dad whine about that when I get home.”

Richard sighed and grabbed his backpack. Virgil merely groaned knowing that he probably left his at school before even going to the pier. So he essentially followed Richard out of the door and on their way to school. However, one thing came to mind as Virgil and Richard left the house and Virgil’s conversation with his father had recently just brought the conversation back up.
“Wait…where are your parents Rich, they never returned last night man…”

Richard said nothing merely giving a shrug.

“Yeah I know…”

Resentment, Virgil knew what it sounded like and that voice clearly held some resentment, which was enough for him to be concerned for his new friend.

“Uhh, Rich is everything…?”

“Yeah It’s cool, Totally cool, we should be at school soon, Should we start looking for Ebon on our way?”

Virgil had nearly forgot about doing that, with everything that had happened last night, he simply thought he would only have to tell his father about that, He looked down at his cell phone time and gave an off nod.

“We’ll look during school, he’s in the same classes as we are anyway, he’s bound to show up in one of them…”

Rich only nodded. Something told him however, that their search will be mostly a fruitless effort.

Hero of Dakota City
Augustus Brown IV

Augustus cut off the radio and shot out of his car, he looked toward his watch and began to fiddle with the expensive piece of technology. Curtis Metcalf had become a fairly good ally since they had decided to meet up and had sort of spruced up his and Rocket’s mean of communication. After twiddling with the watch, a bit, he finally got Curtis to appear as a sort of holographic image.

Well, about time you finally used my wa…”

“Get me patch into the Justice League Immediately!”

Curtis scratched his head in confusion.
“That’s a strange request, is this about that pier incident?”

“What’s stranger is someone found the gas that was stored on the pier, we might have an invasion of mutates going about, and we cannot sit by, nor will we be handle this all on our own, NOW GET ME PATCHED IN WITH THE LEAGUE!”

Curtis had never heard Augustus this panicked. He raised his eyebrow realizing how serious the situation was. However, Curtis was hesitant, he knew exactly what it was without having to hear about it. Something was wrong with this, but still Augustus was right. They needed to get some assistance if Dakota City were to battle these new Mutated forces. He moved toward the comms feed, It had been a while since they had communicated with the Justice League, not because they weren’t active members but more so because Dakota City minus urban crime was fairly quiet. Nobody were superpowered or a major issue…now with what they’ve just seen on TV, It certainly was something to worry about.

Thus Curtis went to work, quickly patching his way into the JLA Comms or at least the one he remembered and went to work.
“Go ahead.”

Augustus too a Deep break and began to speak.
“There has been a recent incident at the Paris Island Pier, a gang bust has led to nearly 200 people killed and about 50 more injured. However, I believe the injured or those that have escape, might have found something they were never meant to. Last Month the police force busted Alva Industries doing illegal testing with Gas weaponry. It was supposed to be sent to STAR Labs for inspection as we feared that the cheminal might’ve been a weapon of mass destruction…”

Curtis was livid at this revelation.

“Alva? And you just decide to tell me no…”

He was interrupted by Augustus’s continued message to the JL.

“However, it seems that…the gas was more than just a weapon of Mass Destruction, we believe the side effects certain individuals in certain ways, scrambling their DNA causing massive mutations to many, some that won’t survive others…well become mutates of a different kind. The problem is that the mass amount affected were the gangs the police were attempting to apprehend, we could have possible super villain increase in Dakota City, and we will need your direct assistance, Thank you.”

Curtis shut off he comms but kept his eyes at Augustus’s face.
“So when were you going to tell me that Alva had returned?”

Augustus sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “If I knew I would’ve told you, I didn’t find out until a few days ago that he had even broke out of jail, I didn’t even know those canisters were the same ones as the ones we found before Curtis.”

Curtis did not let this slide however, he sat back down on his seat.
“So what now…”
“We already know one of the New Mutates, that should give us something to work with, you monitor what you can, let me know if any of these mutates get outta hand, I have to do some…cleanup at the pier, meet with the rest of the city official, I’ll see you and Rocket later.”

He had to take solace in the sewers.

There weren’t any other options, and the police certainly weren’t going to get him just yet. He had only just managed to get out of the situation when he heard the explosion. He had woken up minutes later down here in the sewers as was expected. It seemed that the cops themselves haven’t followed him down from here, which he was relieved by. He wasn’t going to go back to juvi yet again, and certainly not for this. He had struggled his way through the server, he saw the light and they were clearly illuminating, but…he could only see the dark, his vision was blurring with black patches and was slowly shrouding him.

He stopped and kneeled on the ground that was when he saw his hand.

Nothing but darkness.

His eyes widened in horror as he began to scream, was his losing his body, what did those cops do to him….Wait…was it the cops…No.

The supply.

It was becoming clear to him that it wasn’t mere weapons, but something more…They had set him up, everyone had set him up. Just like his mother did, just like everyone else, he wasn’t going to take this anymore.

Not like he physically could at least, as consciousness would slowly be robbed of him.

Later.

“Hey, I think he’s wakin’ up.”

His vision began to return, eyes slowly began to open as he turned to look around. Only to see freaks, and a lot of them. The first to watch his eye was a humanoid bird-like figure Yellow feathers but the clothes, the red hair Ebon noticed that voice immediately.

“Te…Teresa?!”

The cheerleader from Class 2F, she was considered at one point to be one of the “dimes.” Of the school, an amazing singer she was also the class valedictorian unless she disappeared one night never to be heard from again. However, if Ebon was anything he was blunt and he made that known the instant he stared at her. He snapped out of his shock and snapped into his snark

“Did Halloween come early this year, or did you get feathered again?”

She…did not take this well, she went for a swing on him, only for her entire hand to go through him. Not even a hint of damage. She snarled and shown her talons. If she couldn’t deal with him physically, let’s see how he reacted emotionally.
“What ‘bout you Ivan, Look like someone tarred you up real good.”

Ebon stared at her in fury as she used his actual name, but took her words in confusion, until he stared at a nearby mirror. In a panic he ran toward it, getting a clear view to see if it was actually him. Sadly, it seemed that it was definitely the case. His body was now completely purple and black, like a shadow that seemed to never end, his body had no fixed form, he could only now see his iris-less eyes and the outlines of his body and hair.
“Welcome to the freak show Ebon.”

Ebon turned around another familiar voice from school, this time one he absolutely loathed.

“Francis…The fuck are you doing here, preppy?”

“Enjoying the show, I haven’t seen coonery like that since the riots.”

That was enough to set Ebon way off. He was set to run toward the flamed haired male who was now smiling at him and grabbed his red shirt. Once he did so, Francis kept that same smug smile. Ebon nearly stepped back once Francis hair suddenly lit aflame.
“Be careful Ebon, I’m hot to the touch.”
“Can we…we stop now.?”

It was a little voice, and thus one Ebon ignored but one Teresa took full attention to. Two twins, young twins who seemed to be shaking in panic from the argument that the two on edge individuals have been participating in.

“They’re right, we need to calm down and relax, Alva is expecting you Ebon.”

Ebon stared at them all with a sneer.

“Alva? I have no time for this, I need to get out of here and find that fucking snake Leon.”

“Sir, you will have all the time in the world for that.”

A door in the sewer opened revealing a wild-haired man, large spectacles, and a ratty long white coat. He looked wired, like…straight up nutty from the sight. Which was something that set Ebon alert he backed up and frowned.

“No, Don’t. I’m here to help, you have been granted something extraordinary, something that can be used to change your life for the better.” Alva held his hands out and stared at Ebon. “Look, I can explain to you what’s going on, but it’s going to be a long explanation…Do you think you can sit through it?”

Ebon stared at him for a quick second, not saying much. One instance this merely seemed like a waste of time. However, as he looked down at his hand only to see nothing but pools of darkness. He determined to entertain him.

“Aiight, you have 10 minutes.”

"I’ll Put a shock to your system"
Virgil Ovid Hawkins June 1st, 2001 Male Hero

It was strange really, they’ve only known each other for two hours and they were getting along as if they knew each other all their life.

“Hey Virg, catch!”

Virgil actually missed catching the Sprite can that was thrown at him, but a liberal use of his powers fixed that. As the can now surrounded in his electrical aura snatched right back into Virgil’s hand. Virgil mostly not wanting to hear his fathers wraith for coming home late, had decided to stay at Rich’s house, at least until morning, where they would both head to school. He figured if he was staying with a friend to study, his dad would be A LOT less angry that he wasn’t actually doing that. Bullshit? Maybe, but it was something to consider.

“Thanks Rich.”

They sat at the living room couch ready to play Rich’s Xbox, Virgil had just suffered two hours of Richs claiming that he was the best Avenue Brawler players in the Midwest. Virgil never one to miss out on playing a fighting game, had to see this for himself and then prove him wrong. So After gathering their respective drinks, they were ready to play. Richard sat himself down on the couch and was ready to play, powering on the TV which quickly launched into the local news.

“Explosion at the Paris Island pier…”

Virgils eyes perked up as he stared at the fire, but saw that Richard was set to change the TV Input. In a quick reaction Virgil snatched the remote

“DON’T Turn…”

Richard blinked in confusion. “Come on dude, what was that for?”

“That was where it happened...The pier.”

Richard blinked, but said nothing and stared at the TV screen.

Meanwhile…

Augustus Freeman IV had stepped out of his law firm, adjusting his tie. It was actually a slow day and most of his time was spent persecuting a few more hoodlums. It was becoming a constant in Dakota City, whether it was due to the close proximity to what they call Chiraq, or the overall depression of schools and the notoriously bad political spending of Dakota City’s Third Ward. He stepped into his 2014 Dodge Challenger and gave himself time to relax. He wasn’t one for creature comforts but Rocket made sure he kept himself grounded.

As he powered on the machine, he took time to relax he began to tune onto the radio, mostly to turn to the news.

Back at the scene…

“We are live at the Scene of the Paris Island pier, a huge explosion has just rocked the pier, leaving 20 Million dollars and damages and almost 40 lives lost…We are now live at the scene in which…Oh my god…What are you doing!”

“Step aside, miss!”

Wise Son after seeing the reporter had decided to take the scene. He snatched the microphone from her and then snarled at the cameraman. “And if you cut off this camera, I’ll make sure you’ll walk with a limp.” The cameraman stood in shock as Wise Son grinned staring at the carnage in front of him. “What you see in front of you, is the start of a New Legacy, no longer will we sit idly by while your…hackneyed views of justice are upheld by corrupt officers wanting to abuse their power…This will end, and the Blood Syndicate will make sure that such happens.”

“Step up or step aside.”
He pushes the camera woman out of the way, as the rest of the current crew followed them, revealing exactly what was left in their wake. Bodies, and a lot of them, whether the officers were still living or dead was hard to tell from either the blood or the massive area engulfed in flames. The reporter simply stood back in shock stammering for something to stay.

“Cut the feed, CUT THE DAMN FEED.”

Back to the boys

It would seem at least for now Virgil’s and Richard’s gaming session was cancelled for now.

“What the hell was that Virgil?”

“Wise Son, The Force Syndicate leader, but no, he couldn’t have caused that damage alone...Did he manage to convince the others to do it too?”

Richard was now worried, He took note however for the rest of the still remaining gang members, and came up with what seemed to be a stark conclusion

“Did you see how the rest of them looked, whatever did…this to you, must’ve done something similar to them.”

A Superpowered urban gang…that was…certainly not something that the city could deal with alone. Richard then looked at Virgil who realized what was going on. “He must’ve found a way for The Set’s to peace it up, I know Wise Son had that charisma but I didn’t think he was THAT Good.” He however noticed that there was one person missing, that he didn’t see in the feed.

“Ebon…Ebon wasn’t there…”

“Ebon? You mean the guy with the cornrows, Your big homie?”

Virgil nodded. Did he die in the Explosion? It was hard to tell as he recognized none of the bodies when he saw them on the newscast, it wasn’t like they stayed on long enough to give him anything to work with. Virgil’s face dropped at the realization, Ebon, dead? It couldn’t be, they’d been boys since Childhood, and after Ebon’s father died, he was essentially his brother. He couldn’t just sit there and believe he was dead.

“We have to look for him.”

Virgil lifted himself off of the couch but Richard was quick to catch him in that thought.
“Bad Idea, Virgil, especially with that newcast, That place is going to be hot, Officers going to be crowding everywhere, and you know Icon is going to be on the case?”
“Yeah, and like Icon is going to stand for us. He’s probably going to just end up the police’s superpowered dog, as usual.”

Icon.

That was something for Virgil to think about, the hero always gave him mixed feelings, a black superhero that actually brought justice, but against his own people at least most of the time. He always was more high stakes when it came to crime, the bank robberies and murders were something he kept up on, at least when it came to the nicer areas, the rest of Dakota City, especially in Paris Islands, were nothing more than a shithole he never touched. He was no hero, not to Virgil anyway.

“Look Virgil, He goes to school with us, if he's there tommorow, we know where he is...if not, we'll check the police department.”

Virgil nodded and looked back at the TV.

“Yeah…I guess we will.”

Welcome the Wise Son

Hannibal White

“You’re under arrest for Tresspassing and Attempted Robbery, you have the right to remain silent…anything you say, can and will be used…”

This shit again.

Hannibal White always found himself at the end of this. It was never immediate, nor did he ever correctly predict the exact events of his various arrests, but he was always at the edge of this. As the leader of the Force Syndicate, it was something that he expected. The law was something he understood at one time he was studying to be a lawyer, it was a childhood dream of his after all. However, even he could not ignore the hurdles that brought. His life since then was numerous confrontation with said law enforcers. So as his head was slammed into the cop car as he stared at the billowing fire from the now destroyed pier facility. He focused on his family and his enemies.

Here they are were, suffering from the same hands of so called justice. They were all the same weren’t they, under the eyes of the law? Gang Members, not lost children attempting to find a sense of family. Men trying to garner acceptance in a world that did not want to or wish to understand them? What even lead to the Bloods and the Force Syndicate fighting anyway? An attempt to one up another, A Misunderstanding based on a body found hanging from a high rise? It had been so long and pointless he wasn’t even sure anymore.

He was sure however that this must end.

As Hannibal was lifted off of the head of the police car, and set to be dragged into the vehicle, his eyes turned toward what seemed to be a small Dominican teenager, Could he no older than 15. He was wearing what seemed to be a dark colored vest and slacks. He was probably coming from a dance or a prom, It was hard to identify. What wasn’t hard to identify was the amount of force the officer was using. As the kid struggled under the weight. He wasn’t part of the gang attempting to rob the place, that much he knew, he didn’t wear the colors, no tattoos, no weapons, Nothing. Wrong place wrong time. Was probably just walking home from work when this happened.

This much end.

The kid was screaming for help, desperate and confused, he managed to attempt a small breakaway, getting away from the officer whist still handcuffed. He only made it a few feet before the officer Tackled him. It would seem the officer was not happy at the sudden defiant attempt to resist him, and took it out on the boy, by slamming his pavement into the concrete, He counted three times, before the officer stepped on the back of the boys head with a sickening smile before asking.

“Going to resist now, you fucking punk?”

This much end.

On the other side of the pier the few of his brothers that weren’t dead were being restrained. Marta, the Queen Bitch as she was called. Had to be restrained not with the standard handcuffs but what seemed to be new age steel full cuffs. He had only seen them used in Gotham. She was strong, and scarily so. So much that it scared him. But her struggles not to gather another arrest, shook him. He knew what she had at home and why she was with the rest of the gang that night. Her son, Malik needed diapers after all, and McDonalds only paid so much. Her attempts to resist arrest was only highlighted by the fact that she…just didn’t look the same. As big as she was, she was still a beautiful black woman, but now…her skin had seemingly changed hard as rock, along with the rest of her body. As she flailed in an attempt to resist her arrest, the Nightsticks came across and the officers in charge of surrounding her, proceeded to point the weapons onto her, only for them to bounce off.

What did they do to them?

Another one of Hannibals commands, Rolando, was also being restrained, though he was surprised he wasn’t first. Guns were…a passion for him, and his restraint was also gathered with repeated stripping of his firearms. Most of them illegally modified along with obtained. He was set to go down to, probably longer than all of them. His former Military credentials and medal of honor be damned. His signature weapon, a Tec-9 Sub Machine gun was still strapped onto him, and as the officer attempted to pull it off, he found it was impossible.

Maria was the new recruit and while they were normally not be apart of big deals like this, they needed to bolster their number, her face was drenched as she had recently attempted to escape from the water…Wait…was she drenched? No…She had somehow BECOME it, Her blond highlighted hair, petite and light skinned form was now transformed into clear translucent water. The officers attempt to arrest her failed, with nothing to restrain her in. he was forced to use his brain, and unsheathing a taser proceeded to electrocute her, her body reacting violently to the introduction of electricity in her now 100% water form.

That was the last of it.

Criminals or not, this treatment was the last straw. Hannibal backed his head up into the officer that had attempted to restrain him. Causing the officer to back up. He turned around and gave a snarl at the officer who now reached for his gun. Without question, the Officer fired at Hannibal, center mass, in an attempt to take the man down.

This did not work.

Hannibal stared at the middle of his chest in shock, the bullet just…bounced off. Nothing hurt. There wasn’t even a sense of a burning feeling from the bullet, it just didn’t faze him. The officer stared in shock. However, Hannibal grinned knowing exactly what this meant. He looked down at his handcuffs and attempted to pull them apart, which was successful causing the chains to break away. Hannibal had enough he began to slowly walk toward the officer.

“This will end…even if it has to be by my hand…”
Welcome the Wise Son.
