Not sure exactly. I probably could have her go on a job and finish before anything else major occurs. Just depends on how soon (IC time) you guys think will pass before the next arc gets really moving.

It seemed that she'd struck a nerve with Alex as he made the effort to escort Lily away. Rolling her eyes slightly she called after them as they walked away. "Alright then, see you later!" She could have told them to be careful what they wish for, but that might ruin the fun in the future. If the wish involved anyone else but her new friend she might have granted it on the spot. But alas she didn't get the chance to lead the wish anywhere else. At the very least they could meet again and they might not know it. They were in their untransformed state after all so they probably wouldn't be recognized when transformed.

Sighing lightly the girl headed back to their table and sat down. It looked like things were winding down so they might not be there long. The twins didn't expect Mariette to stick around very long given how reclusive she behaved. "Shakes are really good. Maybe we can have one of those before we go. At least then we could come away with something from this disaster." She stuck her tongue out playfully. The waitress mentioned something about paying and the girl piped up. "I can pay." Now that the strangers were gone Sakura was feeling a lot more relaxed.

I'm just thinking, you wouldn't need to keep the coin out of other people's hands if it couldn't be taken from you.

"They’ve got dirt on and favors owed from YOU, and as a ruthless shadow cabal, they’ll use you. Their goals are unclear and mysterious, but at the very least, they’ll have you informing on your other Patron if you have one. They don’t ask for much at first, but they will ask you to do things just out of your reach, enough that you’ll need help, or resources you don’t have. And when they give them to you, you’ll still be in debt. The longer you work for them, the more unsettling the things they ask you to do become."

The description on the drawbacks imply that the Mint has more than just one thing over their magical girls. The plural is used several times and it is what they use to coerce the behavior they want. Otherwise they wouldn't select that person because they would have no influence over them. You get one black coin so they must have something else on you or you're no use to the Mint. Also the Mint will do things to put you in a poor position so you will need their help some way or another and further build debt. I doubt the Mint, given their power and influence, would allow such a simple loophole break their system. They play by their own rules and bend them as necessary. We're not talking about the Beacon here. I suppose if a magical girl has lost their usefulness to them they could alway let it go.

Possessing a coin means nothing as far as debt given how I read it. It is a gift and can be taken by others not contacted by the Ebon Mint. Using the coin is where the debt comes in.
