Name: Alniyat
Age: 17
Height: 5'10 and 175lbs
Her sword is roughly 6 foot and about 80lbs
Gender: Female
Personality: A proud strong young naive girl. She is driven to gain strength simply for the sake of being strong. Rank and status do not apply in her mind, meaning she will tell anyone her thoughts and lacks the tact to even put a filter on it. Her ignorance for social situations is made up from in her well read back ground, making many question just how "naive" she really is.
Role/Title: "Annoying thorn"
History: She lived on a border village well outside the real reach of the empires influence, the most she had heard had been stories of its beauty. Her village had proven itself strong enough to hold its own for many generations it was really just bad luck that her generation was the time it would fall.
A ball clanged desperately in the late hours of the night, waking her from her sleep. Her mother ran to her side and her father grabbed his blade and ran out the door. Her mother comforted her telling her it was probably nothing more than wolves again....If only. What felt like an eternity of waiting was brought to an end by the shriek of one of her fellow villagers and then a roar of something far scarier than any wolf rang out. A large group of bandits had laid siege to the small village.
An orange glow began to add a more horrible back drop to befit the symphony of screams. Her mother scooped her up and attempted to run out the back of their small cottage. The sound of something whistling in the air proceeded her mothers sudden stop. But she did not fall, she looked down at her daughters terrified face and began to force herself to limp onwards. Once more something whistled in the air but this time the noise seemed to slam into her mother, but she still did not stop. She made it a few more feet before blood began to drip from her lips onto her daughters tear soaked face.
"M-mama?"
Her mother placed the girls feet on the ground, allowing her to stand. The woman smiled while blood ran down from her mouth and nose, trying desperately to look strong. "Run." Alnyiat even at such a young age was strong, she forced a wavering smile and ran, and ran, and ran. She ran till her feet bled, and she continued on. For almost a straight day she ran. She collapsed at a spring almost another mountain away, it was here the Gods saw fit to reward her strength.
The next time she would open her eyes, it was in the "cave" of Olluron. Of course, the first thing she would do when she woke was try and run, but at entrance Olluron had been waiting, or more likely had been watching the sunrise... Alniyat once more reacted the only way that seemed logical she grabbed a stone and smashed the man in the back of his head. Olluron turned his head to look at her, tears already forming in her eyes but the stone still raised to hit him once more.
"Good morning."
She shrunk back as the massive man turned and reached out for her. His hand's shadow encompassed her head, she remembered the stories of how gaints grind your bones for bread, she couldnt believe her luck.Nor could she when the massive hand simply stroked her head.
"How 'bout we grab some fish" she stared at him confounded when he picked her up and sat her on his shoulder. When he got them back to the spring of the day prior he sat her down at the waters edge after setting up a strange looking conrtaption in the water (Later she learns its a trap for shellfish) he returned and began to wash her wounded feet. She cringed and balled her hands into fist but she knew it had to be done.
"Small one, You are quite strong. Where have you come from?"
She could not fight the tears that fell from her eyes but still she kept a strong face. After he properly dried her wounded feet he sat beside her, more than eclipsing the young girl in his shadow. She looked at him slightly confused while the man stared at the water, she was startled when he began to speak again.
"I am sorry you have lost so much when you are so small. I lost much but I was big, Not as big as now but was still much larger than you small one. Hahaha! But you are much stronger than when I was a small one!" He pats her head again, this strange and awkward gesture is oddly comforting but she couldn't help but question if the man thought she was a dog.
"I will teach you to be stronger okay! That way you are able to make bad not happen!"
She smiled and laughed, cried and growled but she refused to speak. Olluron however never expected to her, he understood well enough, though it was on more than one occasion he came to the idea she couldn't. It was in one of the rare town visits that Olluron was trading furs for books that Alniyat finally spoke.
"Thank you."
The man was startled for the first time she had seen since she met him. He turned to look at her with the dumbest grin,
"Small one!" Overjoyed Olluron threw all the furs he had to trade and took as many books as he could carry...Hardly an equal trade and thus Alniyat said spoke to the merchant as she was carried off with the books. "Sorry!"
While she read and learned, she began to find herself with a desire to bring about justice and serve the land like the knights in the tales. This had some side effects that Olluron was forced to deal with These include and are not limited to: sneaking off to try and defeat some highway men, her being hurt trying to lift his axe, getting in fights with boys in the village so she could prove herself stronger, him caught in constant bouts with local fighters because she says that hes so much stronger...
When she was thirteen they had become a rather common sight at the villages near the foot of the mountains, and Olluron had become something of a local hero. Alniyat had also become a prize to be had by many of the local boys, much to her secret glee. However a traveling aristocrat had taken fancy to her, and decided she would be his. After several turned down advances he arranged a trap, one that had Olluron convinced that she had been taken by the commander at the local empire outpost.
While the fiend had her to himself he had thought she would melt in fear without her giant, but it was quite the contrary between her sweet lips spilled pure venom. She cursed him informed him of how low he was and how pathetic this was, this of course led to him having her bound and gagged...and beaten. Later that night she was brought to his chambers still shackled. He asked her if she was ready for what comes next as he removed her gag.
"I am strong."At first he thought this was her compliance, But the girl kicked his groin with enough force to force him to his knees. Before he had time to collect his first thought she drove her head into his brow, knocking the man to the floor.
"I am strong." As the man heard the words and the spots began to clear from his eyes he saw her foot coming down on his throat, with a raunchy crunch. As he gurgled and tried to stand she watched her eyes beginning to water....It was some time before a servant came to wake the lord only to find him dead in the floor and Alniyat sitting in a chair as if waiting.
Olluron had Commander arrived seeking to correct this strange mess. But rather it appears the son would demand justice for his fathers demise, and it was apparently cold murder. Alniyat had been re-gagged and beaten again and tossed in a cage before the commander could even look over the situation. When Olluron finally saw Alniyat, and the state she was in, it was a as if they had stolen a bears cub. The man cared not for explanation he forced the dungeon door open much to the shock of all but the commander.
"What happened little thorn!"
He didn't even wait for an answer before he turned his eyes on the young son. The commander adeptly stepped between them and lifted a hand to gesture them to wait. The young son commanded the knight
"Excute them both, they are murderous savages! They don-"The Commander floored the boy,
"I am in service of the queen not your petty house."
The commander knew enough to not only prevent repercussions for Alniyat and Olluron but he took it a step further and had the house shamed. It was this example of justice that led Alniyat to dream of being a Knight. And it was enough to convince Olluron that perhaps these people from the capital are not all as evil as what he had gathered from previous encounters.
Some more stuff happens blahblahblah---present
The pair is now known as the White Rose, known as bounty hunters, sell swords, but the are more or less body guards for only those loyal to the purity of the crown.
Name: Olluron
More to come but seriously writing a book in back story is probably not my best plan.
Name: Glenndaugion Mithrandir
Age: 318 and a few moons.
Gender: Male
Personality: Paragon. Glenn unlike most of his kind tends to think highly of his short lived friends. He tries to advise the royal family in ways that are both peaceful and productive. While normally a pacifist he does rile when one threatens the royal family or (maybe even more so) Children.
Two paragraphs. Glenndaugion Mithrandir is of a rather unique and influential clan of elves in the northern mountains. The Mithrandir predate the empires and according to folk lore the humans themselves but the clan has made no such claim. Glenndaugion was for all purposes incredibly young when he left his people, but in the thirty years he spent with them he had learned more than many humans could hope to gather in their life time.
*Some amazing exposition here about how he got to be a royal advisor....But you know spoiler.*
After the first two generations Glenn began to act as both tutor and guard to the children of the royal family primarily because children tend to be a tad bit more likely to grasp concepts such as listening. Glenn worked to train kings and queens in everything from etiquette to sword play, though he does have a habit of sexism as he finds the boys should use broad swords and girls the rapier.
After the first century passed Glenn began to attract animosity of the lords and the like, many began to suspect him of being something of a puppet master. Manipulating the children or worse using elven magic to control the king and queen directly! Any who knew him never gave these accusations a second thought, the only magic he had ever shown the capacity of using was the illusions he used to entertain the children.
Glenn attempted to distance himself from any who where not of the royal family simply to give the appearance of being disinterested in the politics of the empire. Unfortunately this worked too well, as soon he did loose the influence at council meetings but if he was honest with himself he was happy about it, as it freed him from the mess that was internal relations.
Fast forward to the present situation and Glenn's effectiveness has been rather shocking. He was separated from the queen due to the planning of the tyrant. He had been sent to act as a mediator with a clan from the deep woods but alas the only thing waiting for him out there was bandits. A few dozen corpses later a very agitated Glenn now searches for the Daughters of the empire....Hopefully their Knights reacted quick enough.
Anything extra: A theme that sums up the story you probably skipped XD
