"public information doesn't interest me, marine...? should i call you marine? i don't really care. private knowledge is the most difficult to obtain and you're asking me to completely obliterate a species under your payroll and while one i'd do for free if i found them interesting, the other half of that statement sits about as well with me as adding all your secrets to that pool of public knowledge you're trying to hand off to me, so you can understand why my asking price is so high. On the other hand, a power core is an easy replacement and judging from the scans i took of the space craft in question I could easily replace it for very little... I am... unused to this... trading" Xel'rath states emotinlessly, and while he could practically feel the displeasure rolling off the space marine as well as the discomfort without needing to continue to scan him, it was like being asked to blind himself to his surroundings and it didn't sit well with him either. "I'm sure your scientific teams aren't needed or wanted with that knowledge within the public pool" xel'rath states evenly more for the sheeple's benefit than his own since he'd been nice enough to help him as well. While he could see the space marine's position, he also couldn't help but notice how little everyone else's position was being taken into consideration, and while he was unskilled with diplomacy, he could spot the issues with everyone around him just as easilly as hindsight was letting him see his own.

"tyranid... terrifying from the feelings you're surpressing... and before you begin shooting at me, i do not need to read minds to tell someone's thoughts. a simple shift in tone, suppression of the furrowing of a brow, even the things you're definitely trained not to do give away your thoughts as easilly as if reading them from a book just from the electrical and chemical emmissions you expend in not doing them. As i can also tell you find me to have a superiority complex, let me get one thing straight, human, my 'species' as you would label me is singular, in my natural state i am merely an ever hungering mass of plasma, a star devouring mass of energy. Yet it is the machinations of creatures such as you humans that must regulate, control, and categorize that has led to the complete implosion of societies and civilizations a countless number of time. Your empire has risen and it will fall, whether to the tyranid, another outside force, or it's own hubris just as those same outside forces and tyranid will fail and wither to nothing. When I call something primitive it is not when compared to myself, I myself exist as an outlier and therefore cannot be held to the same standards, no, when i call something primitive it is in comparison to the sum total of the countless civilizations i've come across in the countless millinea i've existed with a conciousness in." Xel'rath rattles off as he studies the imperial civilization, seeming to simply scan things though if they had an immense amount of equipment out they could probably detect the occasional missing molecule or two from their structures taken as samples in order to ascertain the make up of them.

"oh and, privacy is a lie. Secrets kept will always find a way to light and if it's not obvious that they have, then all the more dangerous." Xel'rath adds as an afterthought as he holds his hands out, the light seeming to harden as machines constructed themselves from nothing in his palms. Two rather small, only about the size of a baseball, drones began hovering upon their completion, xel'rath seeming to communicate with them wordlessly for but a few seconds before they zoomed off too fast for even the aiming equipment to track should they attempt to shoot them down. "don't worry, i almost never equip drones with weapons, they're just there to monitor and catalouge things... except this one, i don't like it when people launch missiles at me, the fallout tends to kill interesting specimens." xel'rath states, pointing out a miniscule, pen-sized drone that had been pretty much constantly hovering behind his head since the beginning, but most people probably thought it was just a decoration of some sort and the writer forgot to mention it so FUCK IT. Moving on, xel'rath adds "about your attempt to gain assitance with your tactical endeavors. i'll do it in return for all personal, private, classified, otherwise secretive, and public knowledge, if you hide any from me then I will simply retrieve them. if you wish a demonstration of what you're paying for then bring the most difficult to destroy creation your military posseses... and just because i enjoy being mean to magic users, blind magic users slash psychics or whatever you call them" starting his price high and being blunt about what he wanted since, frankly he didn't care to beat around the bush as the saying went.

While most would likely be offended or otherwise non-plused in some way by the sheeple's comments about him, Xel'rath simply states "and there in lies my authority of judgement: exclusivity from the ability to be judged as well as the knowledge of an unfathomable number of races greater than the norm. What most find primitive is simple a lable people such as humans and other, similar species use to define types of objects. for instance, a traditional firearm would be classified as primitive yet it could kill anyone here under the right circumstances, the same with a spear or even just a humble stone. While energy weaponry such as lasers, plasma, even railguns to an extent, are classified as 'advanced' just simply because they use some form of technology beyond chemical and mechanical to trigger their effects" in a complete monotone while he walks, scanning his surroundings, detecting the unease the crowd now held upon his arrival as well as the unease the commander held towards the figure that had gone on ahead.

"a human more in line with the average. rather uninteresting, predictable... yet you find issue with him?" the being muses, directing his question at the commander after a brief scan of vulga, seeming to gain much even without complete deconstruction, his scanner seeming to be on near constantly as his head swivels from building to building, the only real reason he was following them being to document the information for himself. "oh, and commander, do not feel bad at being called primitive. It is simply the nature of your race to be below another in terms of technology for that is how things work, there will always be someone higher up just like how those that you seem primitive will always seem primitive to another and so on and so on." Xel'rath adds as if in after thought, having read the slight agitation despite the psionic shielding, the barrier simply being another energy for him to manipulate to his whims
question, does arcadia have resident ghoulies? and i don't neccisarily mean things native to arcadia, most like if nasties ever 'get out' of their home universe and take up residence?

Also, @thewizardguy FUCKING REPLY
@thewizardguy

"a psionically gifted human of some potence, i'm quite surprised. usually your species is ecstatic about being able to bend the odd spoon with their minds. my purpose for being in this system of space is one of scientific discovery. my home world as you might call it, the place where i was 'born' existed many... you can hardly hear me, fine" he starts, however the psychic shielding made his 'voice' muffled at best, plus it didn't help that his body added an intimidation factor which most likely was what was leading the humans before him to be on guard at best. Xel'rath seems to disappear in a burst of light, all accept for his core which is then rapidly shielded by a more uniform body, though he changes the placement of his core to somewhere hard to hit as well as rarely hit and while he did not appear completely human in that his face was little more than a scanner shielded by some plating with audio speakers on the sides of his head, his newly forged torso was vaguely humanoid and one could say he had human hands though his legs were digigrade as they tended to lend themselves to greater speeds should he wish to swap over to a more quadrapedal form.

"as i stated earlier, i was simply floating around, studying the various celestial bodies and wound up in this one's gravitational pull. i attempted to land somewhere close but not taken up by sentient creatures, though from what i gather from what that one says that the area i landed in was useless before hand, and therefore is no more useless now." Xel'rath states evenly, pointing over at the wool-covered humanoid that they'd come to detain. "though, if your purpose is data retrieval, why have you not simply disintegrated the ship? it is a much faster method of energy and data... oh wait, you're humans, i forget how primitive your species is" he says with a sigh as he makes a movement similar to pinching the bridge of one's nose. While high powered weaponry was pointed at him, acting intimidated by them would only cause them to realize a weakeness even if he was scared of them, it was always better to show an indifference to them.

Amon and his men heard screams at first, as though the warp itself were shouting at them deafeningly enough to cause pretty much everyone but Amon to flinch at least a little as Xel'rath tinkered with the frequency a bit, normally having to force a psionic link so the psychically sensetive space marines before him were overloaded until he 'turned down the volume' so to speak, speaking every language they understood at once as an echo. The most easilly understood one being the loudest and most prominent as the towering mechinataion before them grunted frustratedly at the impromptu conditions he was having to rush to adjust to due to the rather intimidating weaponry pointing at him. "hello? testing... can you hear me or am i too quiet?" he asks curiously, seeming to see the spark of recognition in them before he does a non-invasive scan just to determine species, there being no apparent indication of him doing anything other than speaking. "ah, humans, interesting..." he says with a barely disguised groan of aggravation at having to deal with such a prideful, primitive race that still thought themselves the pinnacle of everything no matter how many races were leagues ahead of them and blatantly so, though the more he thought on it the more he found the irony of that sentiment and- a self debate for another time. "please state your purpose and put those things down, you're being rather rude to someone you only just met..." he states monotonously, towering over them despite their size, as Amon can't help but notice a similar, rehearsed tone to the one he had just been using to confront the... creature he was now 'detaining'.
@thewizardguy

i meant that i was crashing into tiny's space station, but if you want me to obliterate your mech i can...
@supertinyking@thewizardguy@Nightknight

orbital drop achieved... unsatisfactory conditions... adjusting body were Xel'rath's first impressions of the planet he'd been so rudely dumped into orbit over, plummeting rapidly as he reuses the frictional energy to build up a chassis capable of withstanding orbit, the pyramid-like construct enveloping the core, protecting it as the tip pierces deeper into the stratosphere.

safe drop achieved, optimizing landing capabilities were the second series of thoughts as three tentacles form along the vertices, acting both as guiding equipment and the landing gear, forming his optic sensor array just in time to get a 'face' full of metal as the owner of whatever construct he was crashing into was rather suddenly esploded as he punches through what appeared to have been the power storage unit, and while the irony was not lost on him, he was now tasked with making sure the owner of the crashed station he'd just crashed into wasn't imediately pointing an anti tank rifle at him... funny now that he thought of it, he never had a gender yet everyone had called him a 'he' so he'd adopted naturally male characteristics within his- thoughts for another time. His 'body' shifts so as to become more rounded, better able to deflect than the flat edges he'd hastily constructed during free fall, metal tendrals stabbing into the earth to anchor him before he proceeded to 'walk' out from the wreckage, adjusting his body further to allow for smoother travel without stabbing things.

@thewizardguy

funny you should mention a sledghammer as that's oddly enough his weakness. you kinda got his defenses mixed up. he's obscenely potent at combatting energy weaponry (lasers, plasma, things like that) as it's like throwing donuts at the average american's mouth and hoping it doesn't eat them while kinetic energy can have a dampening effect applied to it which make bullets useless below certain calibers, if you actually manage to walk up and start punching him, there's not really much he can do aside from try to flee and shoot you with lasers at close range which is NOT a good idea as, at that range it's rather simple to just move his arm or whatever he's firing with away from you while the charge is building.

in terms of energy input, he has no effective cap yet, however, his core is currently pristine, a couple fights and that might change however, in terms of output he does have a charge time where he has to drag the energy out, build it up, aim it, and fire.

in terms of tankiness, himself and his constructs are actually surprisingly physically weak, most of their ability to defend themselves comes from killing the thing trying to kill it first or shielding... if i had to describe his tankiness, think of him like an archon from starcraft; LOTS of shields, 10 hp

ergo, pretty much anything he made would be inherently weaker than if he'd just built it with concrete or something, but it would be alot more efficient energy wise and he wouldn't have to actually mess with things like concrete.
