@silver fox Are there plans for a post for Tora? Or should @toadropes and I post again?

Kieran & Nylah

Location: Bagel Place → Parade
Interactions: Kieran@NeoAC & Nylah @Dusksong

“Glad you asked,” Nylah said with a grin, unlocking her phone and pulling up a picture to show to Kieran. The picture was of a black on orange-and-white sneaker with a very prominent black stamp. “They’re Air Jordans — Air Jordan numero one retro. I think the color was something like ‘reverse shattered backboard.’ tracking down an orange pair was a lot harder than I thought, but most of the challenge was picking the right one.” Nylah paused, looking to Kieran with worry. “Phillip still plays basketball, right? I went out on a limb and bought these instead of running shoes since he mentioned that he played in high school. God, I should have checked, shouldn’t I?” she asked, more to herself than Kieran. “This would be so awkward if he didn’t…”

Kieran was still rolling the bagel bite in his mouth after seeing the present Nylah got. "Uhhhh....." He finally swallowed. Yeah...yeah, he still hoops. Not as much as in high school, but he still does..."

The Canadian was now feeling a bit down on his own present. The resources simply weren't there to compete on the same level that Nylah could. I couldn't even buy my own breakfast and she's got vintage Jordans out of the ether...Dang...

He took another bite, much smaller this time. I think he's going to like 'em just fine, Nylah."

“That's good to hear,” Nylah said, a little relieved to hear that her last-minute order was up to par. Now one-half of the way through her bagel sandwich, she figured that they'd tackle the other important things first. And that includes costumes for tonight.

“So what are you wearing tonight -- you PJ's?” Nylah joked before quickly recovering herself and shooting the Canadian an unamused look. “I hope my guess isn't entirely accurate.”

Nylah was on fire today. Once again, Kieran was forced to stop eating. "Uh...not entirely accurate..." He sighed. "I was going to throw on a sleep mask." He rested his head on his hand, bed hair draped to the side. "I dunno. It was just a joke, but I guess I'm gonna have to run with it. Aside from going and renting an animal costume, I'm not sure what else to do with sloth. Not exactly an 'active' theme, you know?"

“Well the color for sloth is light blue, so I hope you have some PJ's that color," Nylah said in suggestion.

Kieran nodded. "At least I got that going for me then." He took his second to last bite of bagel and quickly swallowed it. "Should be enough to avoid the dagger stares, right? And I probably got Rui to deflect from criticism anyway. Phil wants him to match the theme, but you know how Rui is."

"True. Rui would make an excellent 'Pride,'" Nylah said, grinning in amusement at the thought. "Just imagine: confident in a purple suit with just the right touch of snobbishness"

Speckles of green through the crowd on the streets reminded Nylah that it was Saint Patrick's Day, and she looked to Kieran with a grin. "Isn't there some sort of parade going on tonight for St. Patrick's?"

"Yeah, there is and..." Kieran looked down at his outfit, devoid of any green coloring whatsoever. "Ah jeez...I'm going to get so many pinches today. Least I know I can still take 'em, right?" He finished the last bite of breakfast. "Do you want to go check it out before party prep tonight?"

"Sounds like a plan to me," Nylah said, polishing off her own sandwich as well. "Er, where is it at again?"

After some google searches and asking around, Kieran and Nylah were able to find the parade -- and recieve lots of pinches as well as a solo cup or two of Irish whiskey -- before the two split up to head home and change into their outfits.

Leisy Takigawa
— Stillwater —

Leisy paused at Olivie’s words — she figured the spindly-looking white insect-type ought to be Olivie, especially considering the disdainful look it had on its face — but wasn’t affected. The tall white-and-yellow bug could think what it wanted; Leisy was too engrossed in her new body to care. Her arms — in appearance — were white and fragilely thin, almost paper-like in feel. However, Leisy knew differently; the exceedingly thin and flat limbs were were made of steel rather than paper, tapering off on every surface to form impossibly sharp blades that began but never seemed to end along the edges of her body.

Around her, battles broke out between the strange beasts she assumed were her friends and the nearby wilds. Of the ones she could identify, she knew her Pokemon wouldn’t be able to defeat them in a fair match. But now, she thought, springing up into the air above the fray. From her vantage above, she could spot the Octillery dragging itself towards Olivie and the Xatu flying towards Ella.

Looking to her left, Leisy — rather than dodging — spun towards the approaching Togetic, stretching her arms out towards the blue- and red-speckled normal-type before retracting them in the blink of an eye. The winged white Pokemon flinched back in alarm, two long lines forming on either side of its body as it fell. The lines lengthened and their borders of red widened until the gashes split open, bawling blood as the Pokemon splattered to the ground. Leisy landed delicately next to the mess, sidestepping the liquid in favor of dry land. She was to remain clean — as clean as her cuts were.

The ground below her shook as a orange, rock-humped mammal stomped towards her, shaking the earth and spewing a mixture of smoke and fire. To Leisy, the Pokemon might have seemed rather large, but size was irrelevant to her now. Well, not completely irrelevant, she thought, stretching her arms out at her side. A bigger target is always welcome.

The Cut-fest that began featured an array of Sacred Swords, Air Cutters, Fury Cutters, and Razor Leafs. Her opponents may have been bigger or faster than her, but their physical attacks were all met head-on by Leisy’s blades. Special attacks were hard to shake off, but that was only if they hit. And most of the time they didn’t.

A fluttering of wings announced the arrival of a new opponent, and Leisy spun around in glee at the prospect of a new sculpture. Which cut had been the most fun — the bloody ones or the ones that made them squeal? But, facing the bird Pokemon in front of her, the steel origami paused — and then was alarmed that she did so. What — what’s wrong with me? she thought, looking at the larger orange-and-black bird in front of her. Why can’t I attack it?

Shanae Eller
— Ironforge —

The destruction was clear, even from a distance: beams — some singed and some melted through entirely — had failed to support the rest of the structure properly, leading to the partial collapse of the roof. The eastern side saw the most damage, being nearly reduced to molten rubble, whereas the western side looked mostly intact and rather ornate despite being entirely of steel.

“What is this place?” Shanae asked as the Lairon she was riding on slowed to a steady trot.

“It’s a shrine to Registeel, the iron Pokemon in legends,” Marvin said as the pair slowed down to a stop in front of the partially-molten building. “Registeel’s body represents what every metalworker aspires to since it’s said that its body is harder than any metal on this planet.”

“Huh. So like a honorary statue? Are there legends about it around the area?”

“No. It’s just a shrine,” the boy said, walking towards the building with Shanae in tow. “All the metalworking names in the area put money into the construction of this shrine. Making a building completely of metal costs a lot more than you’d expect.”

“I can see that happening,” Shanae said, resting a hand on one of the nearby steel beams. The steel was cold to the touch, sucking the heat from her palm. “Solid steel… How extravagant.”

“That’s what the other owners told me, but they all pitched in in the end,” a baritone voice said. Shanae looked up to see Markus Terra standing at the top of the short staircase, mustache and bowtie as perfectly arranged as ever. “Nice to see you again, Ms. Eller. It’s been a good year or two, hasn’t it?”

135 CP

Kenza nodded at Mistletoe's words, figuring that the girl was probably tired and sore from her injuries anyway. The headache from before is mostly gone, which is good, she thought, sitting down and leaning against the bars.

"Should we bother to lie down so it seems like we're injured? The Wolfwing would probably see Derrick's empty cage first anyway, so is there even a point?" Kenza asked, looking up so that the weight of her head was resting on the bars behind her. Although uncomfortable, the woman really didn't want to lie on the floor any longer than she had to. At least if she was sitting, she'd able to get up and attack quickly if needed.

Awkward forgot to tag, so here it is:

Seeing Mistletoe try a few experimental slashes of her own, Kenza frowned. "I guess that arm really is bothering you, huh?" she asked, sighing before looking over to Derrick to check how he was doing. Her heart sank when Derrick stood up, unsuccessful.

Taking the halve of the offered piece of wood, Kenza nodded at Derrick. "Alright. We'll be waiting here then," she said. Not like we can do anything else anyway, she thought to herself snidely as the boy left. Sighing, she turned to Mistletoe. "So. What should we do now -- wait?"
@LuckyBlackCat Ergh I think I'll wait for Noxx to get a post up -- her character is still present somewhere, right?
@LuckyBlackCat should I post now? But I really dunno what to say :/
bump
@LuckyBlackCat You don't have to take off the CP until after the mission's been completed, mostly since -- for some missions -- the number of people participating is unclear. Just tag me upon completion and take off the cost then. Since Toadropes and I (and Zarkun, i believe?) are already doing this, I'd like to keep the process uniform.
