@Sho Minazuki can we get a group discord going?

Branna Naves

Town Edge || Lothian Empire: Garleton || Noon

Branna poked a finger through the hole in the wing in front of her, then tugged lightly. The wyvern jerked, rearing back and flapping his wings with a snort, the wind stirred up by the motion ruffling Branna’s hair as she laughed. Coming out in scratchy cuts punctuated by silence when her vocal cords struggled to make ends meet, the sound was a mixture of hoarse and croaky before it dissipated into the air at the edge of town.

Getting to her feet, she stroked the wyvern’s flank, admiring his iridescent armor. Movement to her left drew her eyes, and she looked over with a smile, waving at the two passing squires, who quickened their pace down the path. Then, turning back to her wyvern, who’d lowered his head so that he was eye-level with her, she headbutted him, then patted his cheek.

“Later, Mors,” she croaked, waving as she walked towards the town.

The wyvern shook his limbs out, then took off running, his bounds giving enough lift to boost him up when he opened up his wings. Into the air he went, veering towards the nearby forest as Branna continued into town, a smile on her lips.

With the sun high in the sky, the busiest place in town was the plaza, given that the marketplace was situated near there. On one side, people bustled through makeshift stalls as shopkeeps shouted out their wares. On the other was a milling crowd out of which music spilled, and Branna walked towards the song. At the center of the crowd she found a performance going on: A minstrel plucked at his lute as a richly-robed girl danced before the crowd, brandishing a pair of flower-emblazoned fans. Despite the fast pace of the music and the size of the girl’s robe, the girl’s movements maintained an aura of elegance as she moved, and Branna paused at the edge of the circle to watch, her eyes drifting over the others there. It was a mismatched crowd of people, both villagers and travellers within, judging by the number of children and weapons present.

Soon enough, though, Branna found the most solemn person there: Behind the dancer was a boy with a spear, who stood off to the side only enough to remain somewhat inconspicuous. His eyes were fixated on the dancing girl, but they quickly darted to the side when the crowd around him shifted, and Branna traced his eyes to a child being lifted by her father. As she was standing across from the child in the crowd, it didn’t take much time for the girl to notice Branna on the other side of the dancer, and when she did Branna raised a hand to wiggle her fingers.

‘Boo,’ she mouthed.

The girl’s eyes widened, her small hands gripping for her father’s, and Branna’s grin stretched wider.

Pebble “Pebs” Meyers

@Alamantus@Vertigo

“Ready,” Pebs said, swapping the truck for the C-type battery in her bag, which she tucked into her pocket instead before zipping up her backpack. Then, whipping out her phone and turning on the flashlight function, she nodded, walking towards the door.

“Phone ready, let’s do this.”

The door unlocked easily, opening up into a hallway with a blue rug. There wasn’t much to see by their phone’s light other than a table some distance down, and Pebs’ eyes quickly caught on the light switch near the door.

“Light,” she said, walking over and flipping the switch.
Eryn Montero

Route 5 || Day 3: Night || @PlatinumSkink

“Eryn,” Eryn supplied with a grn when Laurel paused. “And this is Eri. Nice to meet you all!”

Eryn waved, and Eri did the same. Since Eryn’s talk with her Zorua would probably happen later that night, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to let people stay confused for a bit longer. After all, it was pretty amusing to see the gears turning in their heads as they tried to piece together nonexistent puzzle pieces.

With introductions over, onto the ship they went, and it was there that Zak and Laurel revealed their true colors. It was pretty clear from the get-go that Eryn was the newest person to the routine, but she hadn’t been able to figure out how new she was until her fellow patrollers whipped out their Pokemon of choice. While she’d been pretty sure that Laurel was more experienced than her, since he’d acted like some de facto team captain, she was surprised to find that Zak was as experienced as he was as well. His goals were sweet, with his Pidgeys, but she couldn’t help but wonder if his birds would be as useful at night as they would in the day.

Unfortunately, though, her most valuable team member was a secret, so trying to prove that she would also be able to contribute seemed like a bad idea. Eri was someone who felt more comfortable in another’s skin, and Eryn didn’t want to take that away from him, especially when he was in a new environment where even Eryn wasn’t fully comfortable. So, in this case, she felt it was more prudent to just let him do his thing.

“Wow, Cutiecruel is pretty awesome,” Eryn said, eyes wide as she leaned over the edge of the boat to watch the Tentacruel fade into the depths. Kylie joined her at the boat’s edge, prompting her to look over at her twin. “Eri, you getting this?”

With a nod, Eri walked over, looking over the edge as well. Though Eryn wasn’t sure of the versatility of having him fake water-types, given that the illusion didn’t lend him the ability to swim or breathe underwater, she figured it couldn’t hurt to have a Pokemon who could look like a Tentacruel for a few seconds sometimes.

The novelty of the new Pokemon quickly wore off, given that the more interesting two were underwater and therefore not quite visible. Besides having Kylie Fairy Wind the few Carvanha that leaked through the Seadra and Tentacruel, there wasn’t much to be done, which Laurel voice aloud soon enough.

Eryn laughed. “I’d say fingers crossed something comes up, but in this case probably not.”

She paused, glancing out over the lake at the other lights that roamed it. While she’d known that the lake was large enough to have multiple patrols out at once, it seemed like she’d underestimated the sheer number of resources at the Lakewatcher’s disposal. It was comforting, though, to know that the rare Pokemon of the lake were protected from smugglers and trappers. That there were as many people dedicated to the safety of Pokemon as she’d seen was reassuring for the future of such environments.

“Say, Laurel, I met someone who said they’d bought a Gible. From, er, somewhere in town, actually. The city underbellies or something?” Eryn shrugged. “Do you know anything about that? How are people managing to get through despite everything the Lakewatchers are doing?”

The discussion went on for a bit, Eryn filling up the time with either questions about his Seadra or about the Lakewatcher’s operations. When they reached a wall with those conversations, she moved on to trying to get Lin to open up because—since Zak was an easy read and she’d already grilled Laurel—there was only one other person left for her to chat with. Besides, Lin seemed like an experienced trainer, if Cutiecruel’s presence said anything, and Eryn figured she may as well ask where the sleep-seeking trainer had been to catch her trusty water-type.

Sometime during the conversation, though, something unexpected happened: The egg in Eryn’s arms shook. It took her a few seconds to process what was happening, to connect the dots she didn’t think she needed to connect for a few days, but surprise quickly morphed into alarm, then fear.

“Arceus, Lin, could you—could you get Cutiecruel to take me to shore? This egg is hatching and it’s, damn it, it’s an Onix,” she said, shooting to her feet and whirling on Lin. “Throw me if you have to, but the Onix is going to sink this boat if I stay here.”

@Sho Minazuki gotcha, alright, I'll change that and post it in the CS section
@Sho Minazuki Changed to:

When Brana’s health is not full, she gets +1 SPD and LCK. At critical health, this increases to +3 SPD and LCK.

How's it look?
@Sho Minazuki

—Branna—

I'll keep a running track in my posts for inventory and exp, but otherwise how's everything else look?
@Sho Minazuki Interested as well, probably going with a Wyvern rider/flier.
