I am not being controlled by a mind flayer. I just used my own healthy brain to come to that conclusion. Because I'm saying it, it must be true.

Kato looked back at the small group of people that accumulated around him. For some reason he thought there was going to be more people, but its seems like not many more will come. It put a little more pressure on Kato but nothing that wasn't expected. He turned back towards a voice that was approaching the group, another mage selected out of the thousands to get a chance to join IMFO. Kato waved back at the boy out of courtesy. That's when he heard the booming voice of the interviewer and snapped his head back at him.

He waited until the boy reached the group before saying, "All of you here today have been chosen from thousands of applicants to see if you got what it takes to join our agency." He paused for a second before continuing. "In the email you received you were informed there will be in an open interview at this time, but that was only a half truth. You see, there won't be an interview, not a formal one anyway, because you few have already been accepted to join." The man's assertive voice seemed to attract a small crowed of onlookers that surrounded the fenced in testing ground. He continued, "Your remarkable scores on the final exams of what ever school you went to, shows that you have considerable promise. Here, we're going to put that to the test."

The interviewer, who has yet to introduce himself, reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a dry paint brush. He holds it above his head, bristles pointing upwards, and shouts, "Let's see what you got!" A second later magic starts to pour out of the paintbrush flowing sporadically around the testing ground. After about a minute, the interviewers magic starts to create a very well constructed illusion across the entire testing ground. The barren field slowly turned into an arena that was laid with sun dried dirt. Then, one by one, beasts of all types started emerging. After about 6-7 minutes the entire scenery had changed, there no longer a field filled with grass, but rather an arena of sorts filled with beasts. The interviewers voice boomed again, "Work as a team to eliminate all the beast and destroy the illusion...I'll be watching you."
@forumsMy apologies, Got a little carried away there.

Today is the day. Today is the day of the open interview hosted by IMFO at the testing grounds just outside the west gate. An open interview may sound a bit unprofessional for such a big agency, but they have been doing things this way since its inception. The open interview was scheduled for noon which gives the soon-to-be professional mages time to get ready in the morning. Some may live on the opposite side of the city, others may live just outside the gate. Regardless, these mages are currently on their way to the west gate. Unsure of who they'll meet there, being prepared for anything would be wise.

Kato sat in his mothers car for what felt like hours, even though it really wasn't. Scepter in hand and a backpack with an extra set of clothes, he was ready for this meeting. He's been waiting for this day his whole mage life and now its finally upon him. He couldn't help but think to himself, 'what if my magic isn't good enough? What if they don't like me?

The car stopped just outside the west gate. "Sorry mom, I wanna walk the rest of the way. I can't show up to a meeting with IMFO in my moms car...you know how it is." Kato said to his mom, who may have been just as excited as he was. Kato hopped out of the car and walked for another 5 minutes until he approached the testing grounds. Usually a place to test new magic or magical weapons, Kato figured he might have to use his magic today. This large grassy field was caged in by a large fence. The fence being a magical barrier to keep magic from escaping. Inside stood a man with his arms behind his back and his face deadpan. 'This must be an agent of IMFO' he thought as he walked into the fenced field.

Kato nervously walked up to the man and without any exchange of words he said, "the interview will begin when everyone arrives."

So, it seems like everyone is a little stuck or unsure of how to continue. That being said, I'm going to just skip ahead to the day of the open interview. I was planning on starting the rp one day before going to IMFO but if it will help you guys stay interested and give you guys something to go off of, I will just make a time skip post to push the plot.
"Don't mind me, I'm just making a spell focus. Please, continue with your...exercise." Kato says to the purple haired boy. It seemed a bit obvious that Kato might have made him uncomfortable, its not like everyone in New Edis is a mage so he might not know what Kato was doing. Kato continued to sit there palms out, imbuing magic into the scepter. He thought to himself, 'This will be the perfect end to the day, then I'll wake up early and prepare to head to the west gate.'
Imma keep my eyes on this.

I have a question though, will people be playing characters In the Grey fox society (like the name suggests)? If so, what is to be expected in this rp, like will we just be doing jobs for money the whole time (not necessarily opposed to that)?
Anybody still here??

After a good stretch I let out a satisfying sigh,I know I should be grateful that I'm still alive, but I could really do without the stiff back.. I looked up at the two girls who exited the bus, seemingly unfazed by that fact that they were part of a serious crash. The only thing I can think of at that point was, 'damn...they're Tough.' I watched them out of the corner of my eye for a bit as I waited for the others to get out of the bus, that's when I noticed the girl, who's name was tori(?), start walking off. I had no idea what she was doing, but when I saw this I just blurted out," Hey, girl! You should just wait for an ambulance, you're clearly injured. Stay here it'll make their job eas-" I stopped mid sentence when I realized what she was walking to, no, who she was walking to.

What the hell is wrong with that guy? It not like he just recovered from damn bus crash... the man was wobbling. I've seen druggies and drunks before and this man must have been one of the two by the way he carried himself. But something was weird...something was off. My eyes shifted from this tori girl and the man down the street, that's when I realised what she might have been thinking. " Uhh... Maybe you shouldn't go over there, there's plenty of wackos in this city that aren't exactly safe to be around...."

"I'm not really sure what happened, I usually zone out before work so I wasn't really paying attention. As for the time..." out of habit I pat my front right pocket for my phone, but the rectangular bulge was no where to by found. 'Must have had it in my hands when we crashed otherwise I'd probably still have it.' After sanding up with the assistance of the man I look back and say, "I'm not quite sure... But it should be around 6:30'ish... That's when I usually take the bus to work. But who knows how long we've been out."

After finding my bearings I look back to see the other young man following behind me, I give him a confirmative nod and continue to walk towards the glass hole by the drivers seat. Voices of others surround me and it dawns on me that me and this young man aren't the only two conscious. As I walk/stagger towards the driver seat I turn my head and yell back, "To anybody that is able to standup right now, there is a way out by the drivers seat. Anybody who is too injured to move, sit tight. We're getting help." I make my way to the hole in the window and try to squeeze out. The shatter proof glass would have taken to much effort to try and make the hole bigger and I just didn't have the strength at the time. It didn't take long before made it out with minimal scratches. I immediately turn back to the young man with my hand extanded, " Alright, your turn..."
