I am not being controlled by a mind flayer. I just used my own healthy brain to come to that conclusion. Because I'm saying it, it must be true.

One by one Miles watched as the rest of the newly formed crew retired to their rooms. It was not long after when Miles did the same. He had purchased a room for the night, what little night there was left. Miles was all to eager to sleep, spending no time dawdling getting to his room. He wasn't going to be spending more than one night here so he didnt see any point in unpacking his bag, not that he had much to unpack anyways. He stripped down to his undergarments, leaving his leather armor and clothes hanging over the end on the bed. His sword, sheathed, was tucked nicely between him and the wall beside the bed, just in case he needed it. He had gotten very comfortable very fast, nearly drifting off to sleep in mere moments. He did force himself to stay awake long enough to remove a simple topaz ring from his finger and set it on the nightstand. His mind calmed and drifted off moments after.

Miles woke, about an hour before full sunrise. It was dawn now, evident by the hot orange light that peered into the room from the window. He sat up on his bed, swinging his legs off the side. He stretched and yawned, remarking on the surprisingly comfortable sleep he had, quite possibly one of the better sleeps he'd had in an inn. "That'll be the last good wink of sleep I'll be gettin' for while." He murmured to himself.

He didn't rush to get out of the room, in fact he moved quite slowly. Miles was not a morning person, so he did what he had to do to wake and become a tolerable person, in this case that meant taking his sweet ass time getting ready. On went his clothes, his armor, his sword to his hip and the topaz ring that glistened in the morning light. He was ready. He let out sigh and made his way downstairs, hoping to meet up with the others. Miles feared being late and the group moving without him. Maybe I shouldn't have been wasting time... miles thought, as he strolled to the meeting spot.

Yes pls Undying, Earth is my fail (as we are not really on Earth)

Also, welcome to the club Paladin-kun.
Yer CS is accepted, pls move it to Character tab ^^b

Note:
Verum Spatium will be less effective on other players and/or NPCs with higher willpower

An unsettling vibration ran up Zeyruun's arms as the tip of a dagger slammed into the head of his hammer. With such force that attack would have been lethal, he thanked Flau, not that she had done anything but it felt right, like he owed it to her for some reason. A surge of energy twisted and turned in his body, a gut wrenching, eye opening, heart racing energy. The sensation clawed at his mind, urging him to fight. Or is it telling me to run?? Zeyruun thought. He couldnt describe the feeling yet he knew what to call it, it was a natural feeling apparently. Zeyruun tightened his grip, his adrenaline making his heart race. Whatever this was, this danger, Zeyruun needed to fight it. Not because it was the right thing to do but because it was what he thought he needed to do.

Destroy darkness. his mind said.

"Destroy darkness...To bring forth light." Zeyruun whispered to himself.

He bent his knees in anticipation, his leg muscles growing taut. He didn't physically feel Akshay, the other being, behind him. He knew he was there however, mere inches away from Zeyruun's back. If he was as instinctive as Zeyruun was, he would also be in a defensive stance; or offensive. Offensive with a sheild? The definition of shield implies protection, but can you be offensive with it? This Akshay must feel like that shield is a part of him, as if it is integral to his being, much like this hammer is to me. If there was anybody who could uncover such secrets about the shield, it would be him. Zeyruun hadn't realised till now just how much trust he was putting into Akshay, the being who guards his back. Zeyruun will repay him.

I will be his warhammer while he, my shield.

"Come now!" Zeyruun bellowed at the air, his low voice reverberating. This sense of danger has not yet come to pass.

"Reveal yourself!"

Looky looky

Edit: should I change Earth element to Nature??? I think i will

Miles started at Roland's outburst, although warranted, he didn't quite understand why he must be so brash. Miles had not wished to dislike this person, but the contrast from Roland's personality to that of men back home was stark. The man who sat the table didn't leave such an impression on Miles, in fact Miles would rather the company of him over the others. Then again, he would prefer the company of his friends back home over anyone in this village.

I don't like him, Miles thought looking back at Roland. He rolled up the contract in his hands and stuffed it into his belt, the parchment crinkling and bending unnaturally.

Miles let out a sigh,"Well calm down now little one. No need to get ya trousers in a bunch." He clasped his hands together and rested them in his lap. His hands frequently moved from this position, making hand gestures when he spoke. "Look...If you're scared you can't do much on this quest 'cuz all you got is parlor tricks, ya might as well storm outta here right now. No one's judgin' ya!" Miles paused briefly than continued, "I reckon each one of us can hold their own. Well, I know I can. I 'ave no trouble trustin' a stranger, did it all the time for the guppies in the army. New recruits thinkin' their as strong as the heros of legends. You don't trust em completely, but ya trust em enough to 'ave ya back. Now I'm positive that we can all manage that, ya?"

He leaned back on the bar top, the rough corner digging into his back. Miles said his peice but he wasn't quite satisfied. Roland had been right not to blindly trust in others abilities, that would come naturally to someone who was let down often enough. The least Miles could do was give the rest of them a bit of insight into his own abilities.

"Ya see, I'm a Spellblade. Used to be just a blade, but then I got this gift, I did." Miles said. "I'm right skilled with my sword here, could fight off a squad if I had too. My magic? Simple but useful. Its defensive ya see, can make my skin hard as rock or be able to withstand fire, I don't know how well it be against your fake fireballs, 'owever." He glanced at Roland, giving him a toothy wry smile. "Focusing hard enough I can change the speed of my legs or swing, 'aven't quite got the hang of that yet..." He trailed off. Miles was finished with his little speech, officially. He looked over to the man at the table and the horned fellow, "What about you? What are y'all good at?"

Miles watched curiously as the short pale boy cast the magic. It wasn't so obviously an illusion, for a second Miles thought the boy had used some sort of transformation magic. Once it dissipated the ruse was obvious. Miles was impressed by it, mostly by the ease of which it was cast, but he refused to acknowledge the magic. This Roland character came off a bit supercilious with that last remark, 'unless the rest of you could actually do something that's not mere tricks'. It didn't sit right with Miles. That was clearly not the extent of this boys power, but to imply the rest cannot do better? Well, that's just insulting.

Miles was so caught up in his negative thoughts he'd almost missed what Ana, the reason he was in this village, was even saying. His attention snapped back when she explained the scroll. This scroll was more than rumors and history books that perpetuated more rumors, this scroll seemed like a genuine lead. Was she to be trusted however? The excuse of not wanting to open the scroll on a sticky countertop was far from unreasonable, but that did not mean the contents were what she said they were.

He pondered, resting his left hand on the hilt of his sheathed sword idly. This group was a diverse bunch, most likely the skills they bring will be just as diverse. To Miles, this was the real quest. Do I have confidence that this squad will work together? Hmmm... he took in the information and looked out the window, the time was flying by. The mug of ale sat comfortably in his stomach, one more would lead to another after that and he didnt want to throw the night away as he'd done in the past. He'd call for water if this group had more information, and if not, he'd find a room for the night and retire.
~Miles Kyzalith~

By the gods own weapons... Miles thought as the last sip of ale flowed smoothly down his throat, an audible sigh escaped his lips following the gulp. He realized the quest when she said 'kings', she was planning on looking for the tomb. This, he knew, wasn't a quest for the weak willed, Miles knew many stories of adventurers entering the Kings Pass looking for said tomb. None made it out. This was exactly the sort of challenge he needed, stories and song would be sang by bards upon their return. Returning home after surviving the pass would give him the renown he would need to make his way to the top of the soldier's ranks. The thought made him giddy, but he wasn't so far removed not to understand just how dangerous this quest was.

What would make it even more dangerous would be the lack of trust there is in this group. When you trust your comrades, a squad could fight like a well oiled machine. However, this group hasn't even gotten to a first name basis yet. Miles knew the names of Roland and Ana, but there was still the blacksmith he didnt know. None of them knew his name either. A tall horned fellow managed to snag himself in the conversation aswell, making that yet another person he'd need to grow to trust. Miles didn't need to know these people, he just needed to understand that they are all here for the same thing. He still failed to see why Ana had chosen to start this quest in the first place, despite his eagerness Miles still had questions.

"Oi! Miles Kyzalith here, Soldier. This 'bout that tomb ain't it? Well every man, woman and child knows of it. They also know it ain't ever been found, what makes your quest any different, eh?" Miles said, he waited for the others to finish speaking first before blurting it out. His obvious skeptical comments betrayed his excitement, but he didnt want to seem eager to the point of naivety. Miles didn't exactly need to be convinced to go on this quest but information never hurt anybody, in fact he thought it would benefit everyone if the most obvious questions were asked up front. Roland had the right idea it seemed, getting straight to the point.

With my last post I followed suit and decided to RP in third person. I'm more experienced doing it this way and since more and more are making the switch I figured why not.
The Seeker reluctantly followed the skeletal being. He who was their enemy. Their efforts to escape the darkness had been replaced with the desire to kill the darkness, this darkness took the form of some sort of astral skeletal being. Unfortunately for the seeker the being was much more powerful than they had imagined. With a quick turn of events, the seeker was lead to a grand place where the skeletal being sat with another seemingly deific being, they knew within their heart just who these two beings were. He felt as if he knew who they were but he struggled to come up with a specific name for them, he lingered in his thoughts. Releasing his focus on what was happening around him and dived into his mind. It was the first time he had a moment to think about things and for some reason his mind kept coming back to a name.

This name, 'his name, had not just appeared. It appeared moments after trying to save someone, but everything was moving so fast...nothing like his time in the abyss. In the abyss, events happened but he could never discern the order in which they happened but in this world of light things happened one at a time and then they moved on. How am I supposed to register all of this? he stood looking at the two in the gazebo. Let's go over what happened...His mind spoke clear to him while the sounds around him drowned into a muffled roar.

I was in the darkness. I tried to save someone. I am in the light. My name, I know, is Zeyruun. I attacked-.

He thought process was cut short as it wanted to linger on that last thought. He didnt want to think of anything else at the moment.

Zeyruun...

Zeyruun had a body. It had grown around him, cocooning him in its embrace. He didn't feel like he had time to dwell on his transcendence at that moment, at the time he needed to kill darkness. However, he remembers the event vividly. Bones sprouted out from his being, muscles and sinew latched onto the bones seconds later. Skin encased the new body in its entirety, a dark tan colour. His body felt tall, he felt this was especially true when standing in the beautiful garden with the other abyss dweller whom he tried saving. His body had no hair on the head, but it had hair over his chest...no, it wasn't hair and it wasn't coming from his chest. It was on his chest. A shirt, another peice of clothing hanging on his legs aswell.

It was all very weird and surreal what was happening before him. To his left Zeyruun could see the other one, the one like him, coming into a body of his own, likely he came into a name aswell. He spared a glance at him, Zeyruun felt something towards this one, understanding? Relief? Fellowship? It was hard to fully grasp how he felt but at the very least he didnt feel bad. Zeyruun felt he must have looked the same way as the being beside him when he himself came into his body, surprise and confused followed by an overwhelming sense of familiarity and comfort.

Zeyruun forced himself out of his thoughts and moved to the gazebo a step or two behind the other one. Something told Zeyruun to wait and listen, the other one seemed to speak freely and naturally, but Zeyruun didn't know what to say. He just stood there solid in posture, waiting for the two deific beings to explain things to him.
