Guess I should probably ask this before I start delving into the deeper parts of my character, but would a character who was formerly a very powerful sort (like, say...a dragon) but somewhere down the line had the vast majority of their power taken from them be okay?
"Very well," Ava said, drawing the top card of her deck. Just the card she wanted to see at a time like this. "First I activate the trap card in my graveyard; Breakthrough Skill. This time, however, I will be targeting your Evilswarm Ophion." The card moved from Ava's graveyard as a semi-transparent shard similar to the one that had struck Kerykeion just earlier dug itself into Ophion's back. "Now with my summoning unrestricted, I activate the effect of Plaguespreader Zombie in my graveyard."
Sending a card in her hand to the top of her deck, Ava explained "This monster refuses to die even when killed, and for a single card, he'll have his second chance." Afterwards, the image of Plaguespreader appeared on the field. He was again in a defensive posture. "And now for the turnaround of this duel. I activate the spell card Polymerization. By fusing the Plaguespreader Zombie on my field, and the Zombie Master in my hand, I summon the ultimate monster. Rise from the depths, soul-stealer, Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon!"
Finally... The image of a dragon's clawed hand reached out from beneath, gripping the ground and pulling forth the rest of the dragon with it. Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon. After it did so, however, it's eyes began glowing a bright yellow. Observers who paid attention could probably notice a similar glow from beneath Ava's eyepatch. Shit just got real.
"Now, Dragonecro, commence the attack! Target Evilswarm Ophion!"
"I don't think I'll be letting anything happen to my dragon," Lyall exclaimed as he stretched out his left hand towards the field. One of the two set cards on the field slowly rose upwards to reveal a trap card. "Compulsory Evacuation Device!" As the giant Netherdragon stretched out its deadly claws to kill Ophion, Evilswarm Kerykeion dashed in front of its ally and forcefully clashed its staffs together, producing a vortex of dark power that stopped the demon right in its flight. Kerykeion's eyes glowed a powerful red as it pushed forward with its entire body, causing the energy to release a powerful, outward force that sent Dragonecro roaring angrily back to Ava's extra deck.
"So that's what you had in there," Lyall said, near threateningly. He somewhat understood now why Kerykeion had told Lyall not activate his set Pandemic to protect Ophion from the graveyard trap; the Nether dragon was apparently something it wanted Lyall to see. For what though, he didn't know. "Seems like you used up all your resources up bringing out that... parasite..."
Kerykeion floated over to its summoner's side and pointed his attention to his left hand. Oh? Looks like the crest was glowing. No wonder things had suddenly seemed a lot more hostile with the duel. He wondered if Ava... nah, he made sure he got rid of those kind of people in his city a long time ago. Oh well, even if she was, he'd make sure he'd finish her off by turning her own game against her.
"Anything else? I think my monsters are more eager to get at your lifepoints now with this little stunt!"
Ava's eyes widened. This...did not go at all as she'd planned it. Maybe that detour was a good idea after all. Swallowing down the tension in her threat, Ava said "I...end my turn."
Lyall wordlessly drew his next card but didn't even bother to look at it. Ava was wide open for an attack, and with Kerykeion, Sting, and Ophion on the field, they had just enough power to bring her life points down to 0.
"Remember," Kerykeion said, "If you reduce her lifepoints to 0 with a Shadow Duel up, you'll be taking her life with them."
"I'm aware, but considering the previous turn and her current expression I'm pretty sure she had that in mind for me as well!" The monster nodded and faced Ava again. "Kerykeion, Sting, Ophion.... finish this."
Raising its staffs, Kerykeion harnessed its own power and that of Sting's and began tranferring them to Ophion. The dragon roared proudly as it felt itself become filled with even more power, and in one stream of icy breath from its jaws, it brought Ava's lifepoints down to zero.
Alright, a little heads-up. I'll be leaving this RP shortly. I'll do my best to explain my reasons below.
This RP lacks the feel of one that will go places I can get behind and/or look forward to. Some RPs have this feel, and others do not, and as much as I wish otherwise, this one is among the latter. The plot is solid and the players seem like cool people, but (and please do forgive if I sound in any way offensive; this is not my intent) the RP feels like it lacks the solid leadership that even the greatest RP of all time needs to actually get anything done. The characters feel scattered and the power levels of their decks even more so.
We have absolutely no balance of decks which is detrimental to an RP of this sort in the first place. One player's two characters run Nekroz and Nutellaknights, while at least two others use decks that I can't even figure out their goal. We have somebody that at first you can't even tell if they actually are a vampire or not, but as I understand it they are (as much as I think this is a good idea, it feels out of place). We even have one character who has the Millennium Freaking Eye for literally no good reason at all; they just have it. I actually made Ava's story just to see if I could test any of the GM's/co-GM's boundaries with it, which in hindsight was a terrible idea since making a character means I have to use them. Another contributing factor here is that I'm simply having too much trouble getting behind Ava's character. Please don't assume any of this is said to berate the other RPers; it is simply that while this cast does sound interesting, it's not my kind of cast in the least.
(nor am I saying this RP should be fitted to my standards; if I thought that then this post wouldn't be happening)
While my thanks do go to Krein for directing me to this RP, and while it was fun while it was, it is best that I resign. I dislike resigning from an RP so soon after joining, but if the alternative is sitting on the sidelines silently and not posting because I can't get behind my character or those of others, I would much prefer to resign. I will finish Ava's duel with Lyall, but will be departing from this RP afterwards. And who knows, my plans for disposing of her just might help you guys stir up a little plot later ^_~
Cheers, mates. Wish you the best on this RP :)
I remember thinking taking the detour yesterday was a bad idea. What do you know, you were wrong for once.Your opinion means nothing. Turn right here.
Ava Kore found herself speaking to "the voice" once again. And as always, it was telling her what to do. And as always, she trusted its guidance; it hadn't let her down yet...except maybe how it told her to attend a small tournament yesterday after her flight instead of finding her lift to the bigger one. Ava wasn't even really sure how she got where she was now; it was a part of town she'd never seen before, and all the voice told her about how it knew where it was leading her was that "spirits leave tracks." Whatever that was supposed to mean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The previous day...
There is no need to be there, yet. This "Khan" will have to wait, as it appears there is a small tournament being held near here.What do you expect me to do about that?It should be obvious. Crush the competition, and turn whoever meets you in the finals into a broken, lifeless husk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well. Seemed the voice's guidance, as always, led Ava in the right direction. Probably following whatever tracks it talked about, the voice had led Ava to a large mansion. The people stationed outside seemed to recognize her, and even led the way in. Even so, the voice's guiding words didn't cease.
I sense a powerful spirit. Turn left down this hallway, now.
Following the advice, Ava turned left. And there she saw a boy. One boy. A dark-haired boy. The voice had stopped telling her where to go, so this must have been the source of the spirit it felt. Knowing how the voice operated, it would tell her to turn any threat into a husk. But first Ava would have to assess if he was even a threat in the first place; that power was something she preferred not using whenever possible.
Stepping up within speaking range, Ava cleared her throat and made her request very clear in what she said. "I would like to duel you." That was it. Nothing more, nothing less.
tbf, Shock Master isn't even that insane next to some other things running around in today's game. Its power supply isn't infinite and 2300 ATK is easy to overcome anyway, especially given you've just used up 3 Level 4 monsters to summon it. It's good for one turn, but that's about it unless you specifically devote your deck to it. But that's just 1AM UE's thoughts on the matter.
Unending, if Dread accepts you, wanna be partners? We're gonna do tag duels.
I think I'll team up with Krein. His deck and mine - aside from having odd parallels - have an odd synergy with one another, especially considering they specialize in screwing one another over.
Accepted but you're gnome need to pm me about the shadow game power and what you have in store for it and it's origin please.
