Bio

Growing up I read at a 3rd grade level when I was in kindergarden. Thus my Uncle Bob, a big fantasy/Sci Fi geek introduced me to the literary works of Edgar Rice Burroughs (Tarzan, John Carter of Mars, Carson of Venus etc.), at the age of 8. An to the works of Robert E. Howard (Conan, Kull, Solomon Kane etc.), at the age of 11. In both book and comic form. As well as similar authors like Fritz Leiber, Lin Carter, Sprague De Camp, Gardner Fox, Tolkien-only 'The Hobbit' etc.). In early 1976, when I was 12. My Uncle bought the original pho-woodgrain D & D 3 booklet set. Not being wargamers, we struggled and failed connecting the concepts put forward in them. Then the much more understandable Tunnels & Trolls came along. It's numerous solitaire dungeons to cut our RPGing teeth on. At first my Uncle and I couldn't talk anyone else into to taking the time to learn enough of the rules to playing with us. But that changed after the poorly done animated LOTR movie came out, along with the Star Wars and Conan the Barbarian movies.
Anyway I done a decent amount of RPGing over the years since then. As much as school, girlfriends, after school and summer jobs, then 4 years Navy, college, career, marriage, and having 3 kids have allowed. I have played in many games using many different rules systems. Sometimes I have gone a half a decade or so without playing table tops RPGs. Rather getting my RPG fix via Xbox and PC games. It has been nine years since I attempted to play in a regular weekly RL game. It got to frustrating with half the time half the people not showing up. I have been RPGing online on various sites like this, as time has allow since the early 00's. With my last kid going off to college this last fall. I have more spare time on my hands. Right now I'm semi retired and play in 7 games. As well as DM/GMing 2 others. Most of them fantasy based. On 6 different sites like this one.

Is this game still looking for Players?
My apologize to my fellow Players. Apparently asking LostPride, the GM of this game to answer some questions concerning it. Has caused him to 'Ghost' his own game. As I have seen that he has logged on to this site more then a couple of times in the last 4 days since I made my last OOC post. As far as I can tell this game is his only activity on this site. I wish all of you the best of luck in your future RPG endeavors!

LostPride, is there any reason why you can't give answers to the questions I asked in my last OOC post? Which was made over 3 days ago. That are about things my PC, as well as all the other PCs would have knowledge of. I'm confused by your nonresponse? As I have seen that you have logged on to this site several times since that post was made.
GM, before I post anything IC. I just want to get a few things straight concerning some things. I'm sure the other Players would like to know these things as well and might have questions of their own.

When you say the Survivors are immune. Do you mean they came into contact with the strange illness in the past and only had mild cases from which they recovered from, due to their strong immune systems? Or something else? How do they know they are immune? Perhap could it be that some may have never come into contact with anyone who was infected, etc.? But could become infected in the future?

What % Ediburg's original population has survived?

How many people currently dwell there?

How many days has it been since this strange illness first showed up up in the area around Ediburg?

Concerning 'The Cursed' and the Mutated Ones. First of all what is the % is there one to another. Say for every 10 'Cursed', there is 1 'Mutated One? Do the two types commingle?

What and what not are they capable of??? Are they intelligently directed or just operate on a instinct to feed.

Can you compare them to similar entities that we the Players may of seen in Movies or on TV. Or other media, so we can better visualize things?

Also are their groups of them surrounding the town. For example, do they to need be distracted away from the gates so that those who go outside can safely have the gates opened for them to leave and enter, etc.?

Concerning the wooden walls around Ediburg. How are they constructed? How high are they, is there a walkway near its top, around its inner perimeter from which to fight from. Are their any defensive towers or gatehouses etc. Do you have a layout or map of Ediburg that we can have a look at.

Are there other resources that need to be gathered and brought into Ediburg on a fairly regular basis? Say like firewood?

What is the fresh water situation? Are there wells? How are the crops being watered.

What is the current time of year? Late spring early summer?

Have the farmsteadings and such that lay outside the walls of Ediburg been scavanged for anything useful?

How far afield has anyone gone away from Ediburg?

Where messengers sent to the more populous portion of the Province to seek some sort of aid and to find out what is happening there? If so, did anyone return?

Who's in charge in Ediburg? A single individual or a council, or something else? What form does it take? Is it a from before the coming of the strange illness, or newly established? What is the rule of law and how is it enforced?

What is the most common religion. Are there others normally practiced there? Are there any still operating churches or temple, etc. within Ediburg? What are their explanation for what has happen?

What does local wildlife consist of, both predator and prey?

Are there any known things in this world and specifically in the Province of Almira that might be referred to as being 'Monsters'? Beyond what has recently been manifested by the strange illness?

Where in our own real world would the area around Ediburg be compared to. Both topographically and environmentally?

My PC is a local, did anyone that was close to him survive? Members of his family or his betrothed? If so how do you as GM want to handle things having to do with that.

Well I guess those are all the questions I have for now. I'm sure more will come to mind. Sorry if these questions are bothersome. It's just that the more detailed the setting is, the more immersive the game becomes. An the more invested I become in the game.

If you have any questions let me know.

Grixis, I am somewhat confused. Are you saying that the game would be a retelling of the Age of Discovery on our own World with some fantasy elements thrown in. Or of a similar Age of Discovery taking place on a fantasy world of your making?
How does starting on a smaller 1 to 1 scale to start with. With one of the PC from that Party and see how it goes?

With the starting setting for the game being either Waterdeep on the Sword Coast of the Forgotten Realms. Or either City of Greyhawk or Verbobonc in the Greyhawk Setting. Or any large city in a homebrew setting. The PC I want to play is known as Fenix the Fox, the male Halfling/Hin Rogue, with the Urchin background. Starting out in the main city. Having fairly recently left his urchin street gang, (Think 'Oliver Twist') and became a probationary member of the city's Thieves Guild. Where all members must turn in the items they have stolen over a value of 1 gold piece. So the the Guild can take there 40% cut. Fenix being a bit of a stubborn fellow did not do such, one time. Another Guild Member saw Fenix admiring the item when he thought he was alone. An of course snitched on him. Punishment for such was to be beaten within a inch of your life and have the Guild take a 60% cut of what you stole there after. Thus one day Fenix noticed that he was being tailed by one of the Thieves Guild Thug squads. So leading them into what appeared to be a blind alley. As he got to the dead end. He turned and asked what this was all about. They told him and not wanting to pay the price. Fenix escaped by squeezing through a halfling sized bolt hole that he knew was in the wall there. Going to ground down in the sewers. Until he came up with the plan of stowing away in a freight wagon, that is one of nearly a dozen in a caravan that was leaving the and heading out on one of the major traderoads that ran from it. The further away the final destination is, the better. As far as Fenix is concerned. Then over time, through a series of adventures and misadventures. Fenix comes to know the other members of the Party that I first mention. How does that sound?
